Rare Birdnutty Posted August 14, 2017 #1 Share Posted August 14, 2017 I just got an email stating our reservation for August 21 had been cancelled. No explanation, no sorry, no nothing. Anyone have any idea what might have happened? I am SOOOO bummed!!!! This was the port I was looking forward to the most.
firstmickey Posted August 20, 2017 #2 Share Posted August 20, 2017 There is a hurricane going through the area. I think Harvey is its name. NCL changed people leaving today to an eastern itinerary instead of the western(Roatan) due to the storm. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
OCruisers Posted August 20, 2017 #3 Share Posted August 20, 2017 Also think it's probably Harvey! There's a good chance your ship won't be having a post stop there.
perditax Posted August 20, 2017 #4 Share Posted August 20, 2017 EDIT: just realized original post is from 8/14. NHC didn't start issuing advisories on this system until 8/17, so OP's cancellation was likely unrelated.
Rare Birdnutty Posted August 27, 2017 Author #5 Share Posted August 27, 2017 Yes, the original post was pre-storm, and I never had a chance to update the thread. There had been some miscommunication, and several reservations had been made under my name. When they realized it, they cancelled the others. But they had not told me that I had any outstanding reservations at all, so I thought I was left high and dry. However, the whole thing was moot, as our trip was re-routed to the eastern Caribbean and Nassau due to good ol' Harvey, and we had calm seas and fantastic weather. The entire ship was bummed because of the new itinerary, but of course we understood and certainly enjoyed the wonderful weather we had. Now I have a thoroughly planned trip to the western Caribbean if we ever get another chance to do it. :)
