Homewood Suites Galveston

Has anyone stayed here? How is their shuttle service? I know they don't pull into port, but they indicated they can drop off a couple blocks away, and I am already planning on taking g luggage to the port a couple hours before I depart so I can return my rental car.

Any pros/cons on this hotel? I am hoping availability of single night bookings opens up at Tremont/Galvez or even better hotel on the pier, but if it stays as is, I expect I will be at the Homewood.

The hotel is a newly built one and should be fine . Live here and drove by it this morning. Management I know nothing about. See reviews. It's not in the middle of anything , but with car that will not matter. Area is fine and across the street from the Gulf .
