  1. There are several ports of call options on Crete, but as you won't be porting in all of them, for best replies which one or two are you referring to?😀
  2. Of the past threads available from the link above, this is probably the most helpful. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2993076-looking-for-ideas-for-kusadasi-other-than-ephesus/#comment-66965930
  3. the Archaeological Museum for sure. World class, and if you are passionate about history, you could easily spend an entire day, or more than one day, inside. You don't need to see it all, but can choose which of the various halls to visit depending on your interests. We spent almost entire day in there on our first visit,(there is a cafe) less on our second a few years later. By contrast we were in and out of the Acropolis Museum in around an hour. Maybe just us as we felt it didn't meet our expectations, and we were a little disappointed , but visiting the Archaeological Museum first may have influenced our opinions. Having said that, others who have visited both may have a preference for the Acropolis Museum.
  4. For sure the last paragraph, IMHO the most important info source for first time visitors which nobody had mentioned until then, otherwise I had an "oops/senior moment" as had not noticed that I was replicating some of your post albeit in a different way from your own. Sorry you took umbrage as that wasn't my intention.
  5. Lots of info for your topics on posts #5 and #6 on this thread currently almost next to your own, so I recommend you look at them. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/3006102-hotel-1898/#comment-67323739
  6. An astonishing itinerary promise for one day, so assume that there are no inside visits and that Burano and Murano must be really really brief stops. Any tour offering all that in one day should have you reading the tour description very very carefully so you are clear about what is included and what is not.. And remember that Viator is not a tour providor, only a middleman and your contracted T's and C's will be those of Viator rather than whichever tour company they book you with. You could very very easily complete your wish list independently, by following the advice from eurocruiser in post #6 and taking the public vaporetto to Murano and Burano. Without a guide you can visit whichever glass factories or showrooms (or none) of your choosing and enjoy a nice lunch somewhere. You can also go at your own pace. It reads as if this will be your first Venice visit. Have you read any of the previous threads which mention the excellent and highly recommened website https://europeforvisitors.com/venice/.? It should be your first info source for all things Venice and the more you look into it, the more you will find. In addition to the obvious questions, it will answer questions you didn't even know you wanted to ask.😀
  7. We watched some local residents dancing this outdoors next to the Cathedral. It is performed 2 or 3 times a week in public places. Google for info on the where and when. And if you are in the Montjuic Park, look for the sculpture which depicts a group of sardana dancers. You will probably recognise it from images on postcards and from souvenirs.
  8. As nobody has replied, throwing my thoughts your way. Not done it as our stress levels are obviously higher than yours as we would not be at all comfortable travelling that distance either independently or on a private tour. We would only consider it if on a ship shorex, but I don't think cruiselines offer such a trip due to the distance I think you should be wary if you approach independent tour operators and they agreed it was "doable". In this instance you would be wise to have a "Plan B" were you to miss the ship, but that is us, not you, and others may also be comfortable with the distance. Perhaps reading some of the past threads containing the word pamukkale might help? Choose from these https://boards.cruisecritic.com/search/?q=pamukkale&quick=1 Have you considered Izmir? You should at least give it some consideration.
  9. Subject line states "dinner", but actual question states "tapas". Ttwo entirely different things. Tapas will be the easiest as they are to be found in too many locations to list. Try googling "best tapas in Barcelona" or similar as a way of narrowing down the choices. And remember that you can buy one and a drink in one location before moving on to another and maybe another and another......😀 or if you find one you like simply stay there and continue to order another and another and.....😀
  10. Irrespective of where(?) it is to be found you could go onto Tripadvisor and to the restaurant/where to eat section where you can use the filters to help you decide which would suit your personal preferences and price range... From there you can choose by neighbourhood, indoor or outdoor seating, vegetarian or fish or other, different price ranges and many other filters which will help you narrow down the choices before reading reviews of the ones which might be to your liking. Remember that Spanish evening dining hours are late(9 or 10pm), the reason they snack on tapas to keep them going until then, but you could always choose to have your main meal earlier in the day (lunch can be 2-3pm or a little later) and only requiring a lighter snack later in the evening. This has the added advantage of making you sit down for an hour or so for a rest during a busy sighsteeing day.😀
  11. As nobody has yet commented, suggest that you simply google "Bee le Havre reviews" as there are a number of reviews from others who have used it and have given their opinions. Your other option is, of course, a taxi share from the port to Honfleur. When disembarking for the day you may be able to find others quayside who would be interested in sharing, or maybe ask fellow passengers on your Roll Call if anyone would be interested.
  12. No experience, sorry, but as it is proving so problematic to find a tour, have you considered simply doing your own thing there? If you have not already done so, and I suspect you may have, try googling something like "things to do in Grundarfjordur", which could bring helpful results including a link to the local Tourist information wesite Grundarfjordur.is Or there may be some info or ideas to be found in past threads. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/search/?q=grundarfjordur&quick=1&type=forums_topic&nodes=2705
  13. Another vote for pretty Lucca. Easy to reach, compact but lots to see, and much more relaxing than a long frenetic day trying to "do" Florence. The walled historic city is very close to the train station. Exit station on to main road, look for the entrance gate to the old walled city, which should be slightly to your left if I remember correctly, and you are there. Even should you not rent bicycles, do at least walk around the walls as you are looking down into the historic area.
  14. I also suggest either Herculaneum which is very different from Pompeii but interesting in a different way, also smaller, so much less tiring than Pompeii, or staying in Naples which we have twice explored without the need for any guide. You could google something like "self guided walking tour of Naples" or "historic Naples self guided walking tour" and follow one or two of the routes or adapt to your own interests and doing that means you can go at your own pace. Can also recommend gyupsmycity which should appear in search results. And do include a visit to the Archaeological Museum where many of the finds from Pompeii are displayed. Info and images on Herculaneum and Naples easily found online to help you decide. The usual Tripadvisor, Frommer's, Fodors, YouTube, Rick Steves and others. when you google "Tourist information Naples" or similar. Past threads for Naples, some of which you may want to browse for info and ideas. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/search/?q=naples&quick=1&type=forums_topic&nodes=464
