  1. We know exactly what cruise we want - Its a 14 day Journey. The problem we are having is with selecting a cabin. There will be 3 of us and we want a suite.

Can we book on board using early saver to get the OBC and then change our cabin number later, or is there a penalty fee for that? We have been going back & forth with our agent about 2 different options and really do not know which to pick.

We just got off the Miracle ,and booked a Hawaii 15 day using a fully refundable rate . we got $200.00 OBC and 2 friends and Family coupons. On a 7 day you would get 100.00 OBC. When we got home we changed it to Early saver without any penalty. This way with the early saver , if our cabin rate goes down ,up to 2 days before cruising we can get the differance in more OBC. If it goes down before final Payment we get the reduction

  2. Carnival released this statement:

    Statement from Carnival Cruise Line

"Early this morning, a 32-year-old female guest was witnessed jumping overboard from the cruise ship Carnival Ecstasy. The ship was approximately 15 miles off the coast of Grand Bahama island. Man overboard procedures were initiated immediately along with notification to the U.S. Coast Guard. Cruise ship personnel have been participating in the search and rescue operation throughout the morning. At 9 a.m., USCG released the cruise ship to resume its course for Charleston. USCG remains on site to continue the search. The company's CareTeam is providing assistance and support to the missing guest's family on board and our thoughts and prayers are with her and family and loved ones during this difficult time."

  3. On the journey cruise, are dress shorts allowed in MDR on non-formal nights?

My husband wears a suit on formal nights but has enjoyed not having to change before dinner on other nights.

Yes, on non formal nights my Husband wore shorts every night.. We were on the 1st leg of the Dream Journeys cruise..:)

  4. Asking for niece who has 3 kids and the significant other.

    Bill

We took our Son & Daughter in Law, with their 3 kids, ages 11, 13 , 16. they had a balcony that slept 4, and they brought in a cot. Queen bed, upper , lower (couch made up in to a bed) and the cot. This was on the Triumph.

  5. Hello,

I just found a not-so-bad rate from Galveston on the Carnival Freedom, visiting Roatan, Belize and Cozumel, and I'd love to book it. But there's one small issue...

Unlike many who cruise from Galveston, I will be flying to Texas in order to get on the ship. Living in Baltimore, I can get a direct flight in Hobby. They depart direct all day about 70 minutes apart, and a bunch with connecting service or one plane change. Getting to Hobby won't be the issue. It's getting from Hobby to the ship that will cause an issue...

Even if we fly out the night before, we would get a cab/hotel van to the hotel, stay the night, and then have to take a cab to Hobby, and find the Carnival shuttle. Or just get off the plane, and pick it up. But if the flight is delayed, I'm screwed...

I know they have them at FLL and MCO, how about HOU? How much are they and how often do they run? If I buy a transfer from them before the cruise, will they hold the ship if something happens? Are there alternatives?

Thank you to anyone who can answer my questions, I'm very grateful.

    Happy Cruising! :D

We are flying into Houston the day before and staying at the Hampton at the airport. They have a shuttle. Next day we are taking the shuttle back to the airport, and getting the carnival Transfers to the ship. Transfers from Houston are $90 pp.

  6. At Hobby airport the Carnival table is right in the middle of the baggage claim area. You can't miss it.

When you print your online checkin documents, there will be something on them about PAID transfer. You walk up to the table and give them your name, they check you off and give you a boarding ticket. You then sit in the seats there and wait for the bus to arrive, then they line you up in number order by that ticket. It is a very organized process.

Thanks , On my boarding pass it says Round trip Transfers. I'm assuming that's all we will need . We are flying in to IAH Houston International, I'm sure they should have the same set up.

  7. We have been Platinum for a few cruises. We haven't taken advantage of the laundry. We have been told that the laundry is washed at very high temps and clothes fade and shrink. We were also told it sometimes takes up to two days to get your laundry back.

Has this been your experience?? I would LOVE for them to do laundry for us on our next B2B2B2B cruise as I will be recovering from major surgery and won't be able to lift anything over 10 pounds. Carrying laundry will most likely be out.

I use the Free Platinum laundry every cruise. I only give them White & light shorts an t-shirts. Undies and white & light socks. Never had a problem. If you put it out in the morning before going for breakfast they usually have it back that night. Any Black or dark shorts ,I put in a separate bag.

  8. Just to let you know - AARP also has Carnival gift cards for the same deal at Verizon. You use your AARP points to get 10% off the gift card.

Bought 2 $100 certificates from the AARP websight using the Rewards for Good Points, But I think they can only be used to pay for your booked cruise. I haven't received them yet, So I am not sure. Do you know if they can be used on board?

  9. We booked 3 Aft Ocean view rooms/main deck on the Dream for 03-15-15 sailing. Since booking 2 months ago almost all of the other aft ocean view rooms are still available. I am wondering why? There are not many in this category at all ship to begin with why are they not booking? Are they not good rooms or just maybe because they are lowest in the category. I liked them because of the aft view but also because they are larger rooms but now I am wondering if we need to move for some reason I don't know about.

We are in Aft Wraps on Dream Dec/7/2014 and there are still 3 left . Very unusual. The price is high, Maybe that's why. They are usually the first to go.

  10. I missed the Halloween special for the Breeze and the new one ends tonight. Will a new special start at midnight if they have one? I see alot of cabins left on the Breeze Dec. 14 cruise....

The same for our Dec. 7th cruise on the dream. I am surprised to see that there are still 3 Aft Wraps still available. They are usually the 1st to go. We have one booked so I am hoping that after tonight when the current sale expires , that they will go down in price. Since we booked they have only gone up.

  11. I've heard that you get a free bottle of wine if you eat at the steak house on the first night.

We are going on the Sunshine and wondered, is that the same deal for Cucina del Capitano, a different specialty restaurant, that you also pay for.

    Thanks

Steakhouse on the first. Your Choice of Red or White wine.

    Not in Cucina .

  12. The section under Guest Notes on pretty much the last page of the Booking Confirmation : generally doesn't specifically state the Booking; you have to compare the Terms and Conditions there, to the Terms and Conditions for the various booking rates. Somewhere on carnival.com there's a page that has the Terms and Conditions for all the current rates, that you can compare to. Early Saver and Military will be pretty obvious.

    ken

    Thanks , Will do.
