Yes, to both.

I’m not sure if it would interest you, but Royal’s cheese cave tour in Ensenada was excellent. The kids on tour even enjoyed it.

I’ve caught up on your thread during a wakeful night. As a planner myself, I’m really enjoying your story. I’ve done 3 Alaskan cruises—one on Princess and two on Royal. While Princess had more Alaskan content onboard—speakers, puppies, crab legs—I didn’t find it added that much difference in my cruise enjoyment. Royal tends to have longer port times which is very important to me. I also preferred sailing down the fiords on Royal in absolute silence rather than the narration Princess provides in Glacier Bay.
For Vancouver, look at hotels near Hornsby Street in the lower part of downtown. It’s walking distance to the ferry to the Granville Island Market, the port (not with luggage), museums and has some trendy restaurants south of it in converted warehouses (I’m sorry I don’t recall the name). There’s a Residence Inn on Hornsby with a Holiday Inn and Sheraton nearby. I would book sooner rather than later as prices will just keep going up.
I’ve only cruised into Vancouver not out of it (2 departures canceled due to Covid), but I believe you go through US Immigration for Alaska after checking in for your cruise at Canada Place. The time needed for boarding is therefore quite a bit longer. Just something to further research and take into account for scheduling.

Book a fully refundable fare (available for non-suites) and then you don’t need to worry about 14 months from now. For what it’s worth, I’m booked on that cruise for this December. For me the itinerary is worth the hassle.

I might add that in yrs past National, Alamo and others had pier pickup which was really a 'shuttle' to the downtown location, so you might try that
It’s not available this year (although the manager hasn’t been able to get them to take it off the website as an offering as of August 30). He told me the notice that cruising would occur came too late for them to have it in place.

I used Seattle Express this Monday for Pier 91 to the airport. They were great. I paid $21.20 with tax. I booked the beginning of August. https://seattleexpress.com/tour/cruise-ship-transfers/. It looks though like they no longer offer the two part transfer, though.

I was so happy to see your live review this morning. I board Serenade as you disembark. Masks are optional at work if vaccinated, but I’ve started wearing mine this week so as to 1) get used to it again and 2) provide an extra layer of protection for those COVID tests next Friday.
Safe travels to Eugene and on up to Seattle. I love cruises with no time zone shift (until we get to Alaska).

Dh mailed his to Philadelphia, as instructed, July 27th. Received it back within 3 weeks from Tuscon! Can't explain why it goes where it goes. They are processing new ones immediately and also catching up on the backlog separately.
Small world. The passport processing center in Tucson is located behind the SuperWalmart I drive by in my way to work. https://www.us-passport-service-guide.com/western-passport-center.html

Thank you for the response. I thought that you had stayed overnight. We may be flying into Montreal, so looking at all of the possibilities.
We were on the September 17 sailing and stayed at the Springhill Suites Old Montreal. It was a nice hotel with a lot of restaurants around, and we could walk to see the Old Montreal sites easily in the morning. After lunch we grabbed our bags and took a taxi to the bus terminal. Orleans Express was $25 pp with bags (no refunds and no changes at that price) for the trip to Quebec City. I highly recommend both the hotel and bus.

That’s good news about the pool deck shade!

Now, this is exciting. Sitting in the Quebec City Marriott, recovering from a day of sightseeing, and I find your review! “Hey, Mom, we’re going to be on a cruise in a live review!”
It’s the little things in life, and, yes, I do need to get out more. Enjoy whale watching and see you Monday!

I use those free with gift bags all the time for chargers and lose items I want to keep corralled in my bag whether at home or on travel. I hadn’t thought of using them in the safe. Thank you!

It’s a good question. Luggage tags along with other cruise documents will be available online around 49 days before your cruise. Sometimes it takes a few days longer.

Watch the first two weeks after US Thanksgiving. I’ve been able to get good rates on balconies then that the single supplement really didn’t matter. October also seems to be good. I book at least a year out.

For breakfast and lunch, you may need to wait a bit, 5-15 minutes, for a table to free up. Depending on the staff/ship, they may be less than thrilled, but I just smile and say please and thank you.

We get on when you depart, so I would be interested in a review.
Don’t worry about other’s writing styles. You have your own voice which is perfect. Even with your question, we now know a bit about your mother.

Well guess what. Checked today and guess what’s there. Big brother watching? Or reading?

Thanks single cruiser for posting this. I’m at 48 days with no docs, but the rest of the roll call has them. It’s good to know what it looks like when the do arrive.

We used Maine Day Trip Tours in 2015 and we’re very pleased. We ate lunch in Kennebunkport.

Three on Royal (one of which will be moved when 2020/2021 cruises open up). One on Celebrity and one on MSC (Yacht Club!).

I use tapatalk. I went in my settings and turned off "video & image previews".
That got rid of it.
Thank you.

Walking distance to Smith Cove, pier 91, where Royal docks?
It would be a ~3 mile walk, so possible but not practical with luggage. You could easily walk to Pier 66 where Norwegian and I think Oceania dock. I did see Celebrity Infinity docked at 66 late May which surprised me.

I’ve stayed at the Edgewater by Pier 66 (not Royal’s Pier) and the Hyatt House by the Space Needle. I can recommend both. Hyatt House for a family would be great and the Edgewater for a couple. Seattle hotels are pricey, but I’ve found booking early helps.

Canada and the US use the same power and style plugs. You will be able to plug in your curling iron the same way as at home.

Vision Aft Facing Jr Suite

We had 8094 on a 12-night Vision cruise in 2017 and had no issues with noise from the gym/spa. There was a bit of vibration from the propellers one night when the ship was navigating a hard left turn, but it wasn’t a big deal. I would totally book that cabin again.
