  1. \Took the tour on the Magic last year. I thought it was great and very interesting. If my memory serves me correctly, I think the cost is $95 on Dream class ships, and it varies by class. The most interesting parts of tour for me were the main galley, the food/drink storage areas/coolers along I-95, and of the course the engine control room and bridge. We are planning a cruise with my parents on the Dream next year and I definitely plan on treating my dad to the tour.

  2. I have been on both and wouldn't hesitate to sail either again. I like the better specialty restaurants on the Sunshine, but the Magic gets the edge because it has more places to get away from the crowds for quiet relaxation, which is very important to me.

  3. Have cruised the Elation, Sunshine, and most recently, then Magic. New ships are nice, but the main thing I don't like about the Dream class is the extended promenade deck. I like to sit on my balcony and look down at the water, and I prefer being on a higher deck vs a lower one for a cove balcony. We are sailing the Freedom in September and really looking forward to it. Age of the ship doesn't matter to me, as long as it has some of the upgrades. Going on the Dream next year, but only because my parents are booked.

  4. My wife's brother and his g/f joined a group of us on a cruise last year and they complained the whole time. My brother-in-law can't find his way out of a wet paper bag and complained when they couldn't learn their way around the ship, so they would never be able to find us when we would all meet up for something. Not only that, but they would drink so much during the day that they would fall asleep in their cabin early in the evening and miss dinner and all the evenings activities. Once they would wake up the only thing open for food was pizza and the deli, and of course they would complain about that. All legitimate complaints:rolleyes:

I was totally against the idea of cruising and kept avoiding them until I ran out of excuses with my wife. My biggest dislike about cruising is the short time at ports. But it is what is, and I accept that. My wife and I just spent a week in Florida recently which was out first non-cruise vacation in a few years. If I had a dollar for each time one of us commented about having to pick up behind ourselves or cook/clean dishes, I'd be able to pay for another cruise, lol. That's what I love about cruising, everything is taken care of, everything.

  5. Whatever their reason, I'm all for it. As similar as the Breeze and Magic are, a different ship is a different ship. I love trying out different ships and all this repositioning has so far allowed me to avoid sailing any ship twice. I think Carnival recognizes the fact that people will be more likely to book the Breeze since it's something different. I know I will definitely be booking the Liberty and Breeze once they arrive. My only regret is not being able to sail the Conquest before she left NOLA.

  6. Tried out the ropes course last week. I thought it was pretty fun. Didn't get to try it in November on the Sunshine and now I really regret it. My godchild won medal for the fastest time going through the course with no hands the entire way. He even did the whole thing walking backwards a couple of times. Of course, he is 11.

  7. We cruised the same dates on the Magic and I was honestly expecting there to be more kids on board than there were. I did notice a gang of teenage girls throughout the week who were super loud and obnoxious where ever they went, but other than that it was still better than mid summer.
