  1. Hi all fellow cruisers

Thinking of doing a Caribbean cruise out of Barbados possibly Feb '19.

Done Thomson/Marella previously but not to Caribbean. I am a nervous flyer and the flight for me is a long one (Manchester) but i believe it is now the Dreamliner, do you have any reviews at all.

    Just wondered

    1. Is the weather ok at this time of year

    2. Would you recommend

    3. Any hints or tips would be appreciated

Thanks in advance for you replies. :):)

  2. Hi

The 2 day introduction excursion for St Petersburg is £239 per person.

The 2 day comprehensive is £319 per person.

There are other excursions ranging from £35 to £89 per person and private tours @ £300+ per car.

Have you looked at Alla Tours or SPB Tours they have both got excellent reviews and costs include visa etc etc.

2day tours are us$285. Slightly cheaper than ship excursion.

Hopefully see you on board. :):):)

  3. Hi forum

I know this is a long way ahead but just wondered if:-

    Cabins

We have booked a deluxe cabin on deck 6 7 or 8. Just wondered if any one had any personal preference or advice on cabin nos. Has anyone stayed in 114 or 115 on deck 7, if so is there any noise from lift at all and is it a good size.

    Ports

Calling at Lisbon,Cadiz,Portimao,Gibralter,Casablanca. Has any one been to these and any info on what to do. We do tend to do our own thing if possible, but unable to walk too far due to 'dodgy knees'. We may possibly do hop on/hop off buses if available.

    Many thanks

    Jackie

  4. Hi Jo Lou,

I'm afraid I have no advice as such, but we are on the same cruise as yourselves going on the 11th. Are you doing a back to back or a 7 night stay at all or just the weeks cruise?

I think we are just going to do our own thing and see what there is when we get there. We were in Rovinj for our first holiday after we got married some 36 years ago and always said we would go back, no doubt it has changed since then. Also I went to Trogir (near Split) even before I was married so would like to go back there as well. I think I am going to get some Kuna when we get there either from an atm or bank as we are doing a 7 night stay after the cruise so we will probably use them. I will also have some euros for Venice and Trieste. I have been 'trolling' the Internet to see if I could find any independent tours, but due to having 'wonky' knees I am not able to walk too far. Hope you get some more replies I will be really interested to read them.

  5. Hi members

Sailing on Celebration in June, doing the Croatian Classics tour visiting. - Rovinj, Venice, Trieste, Zadar, Split.

We have not been on a Thomson cruise before just wondered if any members had visited these ports of call and could offer any advice on excursions/visits etc.

Walking a long way is a little out of the question as I am not too good with my knees. Are there HOHO buses that would be suitable in any of the cities, looked at the Thomson excursions and may take an odd one but through past experience found that we can do our own thing a lot cheaper.

Any info would be appreciated either regarding the excursions or indeed the ship herself.

    Many thanks in advance.:)

  6. Hi

Returned from our first cruise a couple of weeks ago, had a very enjoyable time. Thinking of going to the eastern med next year. Have found a couple that would suit us that leave from Venice. Fly from north of England and then would like to have maybe 4 nights in Lido di Jesolo (cheaper than Venice) prior to 7 nights cruise, depending on times etc maybe having 1 night in hotel after cruise before flying home.

Do any members have any thoughts on whether to go through travel agent or book each individual element ourselves. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    Jackie

  7. Hi all you previous cruisers, just a question about the beer on board.

Could you tell me what sort of beer is available eg Heineken, carlsberg etc. husband always at last minute asking the question.

Really looking forward to our rest and relaxation on board.

    Many thanks

  8. Hi cruisers already been on Lirica.

Could you let me know if you can withdraw money on the ship, I have a Global Currency Card and obviously will need to have some cash on board. If you can is it Euro cash that you receive?

We are in Dubai a few days before cruising but will be getting Dirhams from the ATM machines there.

    Thanks for your help

    Jackie

  9. Hi Tammaz

We are on the Lirica from 15 March, will be our first cruise so any information you could give would be greatly appreciated.

We are 3 adults, parents and 27 year old.

Do we book MSC trips or try and get private ones? Husband and daughter would like to do the formula 1 circuit, myself probably the Abu Dhabi tour. Not sure on the other cities would probably like to do the ffjords dhow cruise.

We have booked the inclusive drinks package so don't need to bother about what is being spent.

Seen a number of reviews about food not too good, is this the case?

I have probably many many questions but would much appreciate any info you could give, if you would like to let me know privately my email address is djl.perry@virgin.net.

    Many thanks

    Jackie
