Yes. The ships have to pass under the Verrazano narrows bridge. The timing for departure and arrival to the nj port is set according to the tide. When the tides out the ships are able to just fit under the bridge.

i am beginning to wonder if it will be possible that with this new terminal, they could also fit the 3rd oasis class vessel here. I know it is probably unlikely but it would be cool to have a few cruises out of this part of the east coast on a ship like that! Would make it awesome for all of us living up here that hate the airfare!

Great thread. Im reading though and have some questions that might be answered as i keep reading- but here it goes
Has anyone seen a floor plan for the GS?
Any idea the type of shops and restaurants onboard?
And... Is there a plan to fine at the different restaurants?
