We have a room at Hyatt Place 17th booked thru Valuetrips. How close are we to restaurants and shops? We won't have a car. Also, is this a pretty decent place to stay? One of my fellow travelers is a bit of a snob. Any suggestions?
If its the Hyatt 17th Convention one see my note a few up 4915.
The shopping center across the street is the Harbor Shops. the street you have to cross is a local side street not to busy, but this was a Sunday morning.

Hi, Recently stayed at the Hyatt 17th Conv. center and used their recommended shuttle service. Hotel was fine; nice location, shopping area just across street w/Publix, other shops and eateries. Their shuttle charges $7pp; will give you a card if you want to use their return service $10pp to FLL.
We just got a taxi for 2 of us it was $17.50; but my son, wife, & son's rate was only $12.50. Not sure why the difference.

Hyatt Place arranges a shuttle van to the port at a per person fee. Call 954.922.0436 to find out the current charge and to find out if you need to book in advance (usually you book at the hotels the day before you need the ride)...I'm guessing it is $5-10 per person. SAS does have a FLL permit so they might do that route, but it is much easier and probably cheaper to just get a taxi for about $15 per taxi (NOT per person). It's also more convenient and possibly cheaper to just take a taxi from Hyatt Place Convention Center to the port...if it is just 2 of you it's about the same price but if more than 2 a taxi is almost always cheaper than shuttle (usually $10-15 per taxi depending on traffic and pier).
There will be 5 of us, all adults
so should I go w/ a taxi to pier or a shuttle, then the reverse from pier to airport.

I also read that SAS is available from some hotels, do they offer service to the FLL from the pier:confused:

Hi,
Have already got a hotel booked off of Stirling. But would be willing to change if the Sleep Inn has/offers a free shuttle from FLL and either free or nominal fee ($10. pp or less for 5) to the port and then would be willing to pay about the same from the port to FLL

Hi, Need to book 2 rooms for one night, Feb. 22.
Any idea if the Best Western Plus will be ok? Read reviews and they're sort of not good. If ok, will need transportation to the Port, last year we stay at the Comfort Inn on Stirling (now sold out for that night) and we did get free transportation to port & then also booked the return to FLL (did cost some $10, I think), but it was cheaper then the what the cruise line offered.
If BW isn't ok. Which hotel would you suggest (4 adults + 16 yo (2 rooms)) that also has free transport from FLL to hotel and the to Port either free or low cost.
Would like to be able to get some food; we hope to land at FLL around 8 so won't get to hotel 9ish(?), somewhere nearby would be great:)
thanks

My TA got an email on last Friday (LATE) saying that the 9/19 Indy cruise out of MIA was being transfered to Odyssey. but as of today (Thursday) when I go to my cruise planner it show the Indy cruise out of Galveston also on the 19th. Why didn't I get transfered?!
