They have not punched our cards for the last two cruises due to the chip and antenna being in the card. While on the ship I don't carry a wallet, I made this holder on my 3D printer and it works really well. I made a half dozen for some friends. I also reuse the Haven Leather holder which is already punched

I keep it in a pocket or wallet in my bag. I am not interested in displaying any personal information.

What personal information does NCL print on the card? I thought  the only thing was  your name and maybe your loyalty number?

You can clearly see here balcony 1149 club 1299. No matter how you look at it after taxes or BOGO or not it will not add up to $800. And the fact you can not post anything on hear with out being jumped by the same folks that always do is just lame. Still no one has called to get there so called upgrade after final purchase to prove all this wrong.

You are trying to manipulate data to support your claim here. Those are the per person prices that don't account for taxes, fees, and gratuities on package components, all of which will change depending on what promotion is offered. Bottom line is that once you cross the 110 day line, the same upgrade options aren't available anymore, and before you ask, yes I in fact HAVE talked to Norwegian about upgrades inside the 110 day timeframe and what others are saying here is 100% correct. Once you are inside that timeframe the promotional offers change, which means you cannot do what you are looking to. I am sorry you don't like the answers you are getting, but they are in fact correct.

It would be nice if somebody who has done this, with a CruiseFirst applied, could educate us.

I have done it. What was explained is correct, you just get a price adjustment and booking number stays the same. My cruise first still had its full value.

Just checked our MG cruise in December and prices not only increased as OP noted but there are some new offerings under specialty dining options.  I have never seen these options in the past, they are $65 pp and offer cooking and dinning experiences like "Mission Masala Tiger Class with dinner" and "An Elegant Affair Class with dinner - Spain".  There are several others as well, anyone else notice these?

We just booked the Tiger Class for our cruise in 2 weeks. I will let you know!

Final reply - you are misunderstanding the issue. Perhaps you're doing so on purpose to make your fake outrage seem more genuine. I don't know - it makes no difference.

I understand perfectly. I recognize arrogant intolerance when I see it.

I am not going to keep arguing about this. You can speak whatever language you want, and the crew can as well. But in the past, the rule was on Carnival that crew would only speak English in guest areas. That is not arrogance, that is Carnival's rule. I am not buying in to your fake outrage, sorry.

What outrage? I am simply pointing out that it's arrogant to assume that everyone should speak English, or assume that allowing employees to communicate in their native language is somehow poor training or a decline in service. I save my outrage for the intolerances that cause real human suffering, but will continue to point out the small, petty ones too,

It is not arrogant at all. Carnival has chosen English as the official language on board. It doesn't really matter what you think.

According to John Heald, the crew are free to speak to each other in whatever language they wish, so what you think doesn't matter as far as that goes either. What language Carnival has chosen for official communication doesn't dictate what everyone must speak. Properly trained crew are free to communicate in whatever language they see fit, as long as they use English with guests.

It's arrogant to assume everyone should speak English, or that the fact that they don't or choose not to makes them somehow less. Less trained, less professional, or less of anything.

Speaking English does not make one superior. It's also arrogant to assume that if someone chooses to speak another language in your presence they must be talking about you. Unless you are throwing your superiority around, they probably could care less.

Last I read they no longer board disabled ahead of regular boarding, but with your group.  Too many were requesting assistance who didn’t need it so they could board early.   NOw you get a boarding time, no priority.  EM

thanks for the info. I was just trying to gage what to expect/do when I got there. I am fine either way, but I wanted to be prepared.

Well it's part and parcel of the declining standard of service on Carnival.

It's not difficult to imagine a scenario where for example a special needs or disabled person walks by two crew joking around in a foreign language and they start laughing. The special needs person feels like they've just been made fun of. It's just unnecessary. And back when Carnival properly trained and retained their crew, it didn't happen.

This is such an arrogant assumption. You do realize not everyone who sails Carnival as a guest speaks English, right? There are in fact a myriad of other languages no less worthy of being spoken. I think it would be proper training to NOT assume everyone spoke and understood English, and NOT to ask crew to exclude those who don't by only communicating in English.

  11. We are sailing on the Mardi Gras in a few weeks and it will be my first time boarding on Carnival when I already have my scooter. Other cruises it has been waiting in the room for me. How will boarding work? Will they board us with disabled guests before general boarding or will we board with our group? Is there a separate check in line I need to be aware of?

  12. We have Chef's table booked for our Thanksgiving cruise. All of the footage I have seen was shot over 6 months ago, and it was still being held in the Carnival Kitchen space that they started using to preserve distancing after the restart. I know the Celebration is now using the dining room adjacent to the galley that is designed for Chef's Table. Does anyone know if Mardi Gras has gone back to this yet? I just seems a little weird with people walking by and staring in for an event like that, so I am hoping they have gone back to the Chef's Table dining room.

We did the Chef's table on the Celebration.  Had a great time!  I want to say it was about $100 per person.  You meet at the Coffee shop and they walk you to the galley.  You get a galley tour and an appetizer and then they show you how to make the melting chocolate cake.  They then take you into the Chef's table room.  You have no problem hearing the Chef.  Here are some pictures.

Thanks for the photos. I am hoping they do it this way on the Mardi Gras when we are there. So far I haven't been able to find any evidence of them actually using the Chef's table dining room. All of the videos I have seen are from last year, and they do the full experience in the Carnival Kitchen area.
