How crowded does this get on Alaskan sailings? We purposely booked an inside cabin to save some money and take advantage of this lounge.

I'll bump your question, as I was wondering the same thing.  Maybe someone will see this and give us an answer.

If I can add another point  to this question: do Haven guests have a dedicated path to embarkation so that they are not caught up in the thousands trying to board? once pass security is it straight to the ship, the haven, and one's cabin?

I believe that Haven guests board one hour prior to general boarding.  You should also have a concierge to help you book things, even while you are still waiting to board.  Enjoy your cruise.

  3. We were on the Star in 2016. I don't know what the makeup of your group is, but will make the following suggestions. Agree with five o'clock somewhere bar. Great for kids during the day. Not as crowded when it first opened. Did magic tricks for kids. The water slides were enjoyed by kids and adults. There is a small kids section in the back of the ship. The men's bathroom on the pool deck had urinals facing a large window overlooking the ocean. I've only seen it on Star and Dawn. Otherwise, spa and fitness center were nice. Shows were good. We liked Cagney's. The chairs by the pool were like tiered stadium seating so you could see down to the action. Crew was great. Enjoy.

  4. I had a question for you. Did you (or anyone else) try Margaritaville and Moderno for breakfast? Is Moderno buffet and Margaritaville table service? Does Margaritaville have the basics - eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, oatmeal, bagels, coffee, juice, milk, etc. on the menu? Thanks for any other comparisons or answers you can give.

  5. The deck plans on NCL's website show that it is on deck 7. That's the same place it was on Dawn. Interestingly, when we tried to make dinner reservations, we didn't see the Asian restaurants available to make reservations either.

And I checked with my mother who is going on a cruise on Dawn. She can't see either Asian restaurant to make reservations or her cruise in December either.

  6. I just booked specialty restaurants on Star.

Did I miss something as I did not see a Teppanyaki restaurant. It would be great if there was one!
