  1. Thanks for the response. Was the solo experience active. Meaning did you interact with other solos, were there activities, etc?

I just came home from being on the Getaway for the second time. This time I had a Studio cabin. This was my 20th cruise with Norwegian all of them as a solo passenger. I did not think that I would like the Studios but I did. They have a lot of storage for such a small space. The only negative I found were the way the closets were built. I am only 5' 1'' and had trouble reaching to hang up my clothes. My room steward was absolutely fabulous. There is a Lounge Space which I did not used other than to catch a sports score on the TV screen. I had a get time on this cruise which had a total of over 6000 souls on board including the staff. A cruise experience is what each person makes of it. Enjoy The Getaway, she has great staff. I would love to go back again for a third cruise.
  2. I was on the Sky for a 3 days cruise and it was the most boring three days of my life. Not much entertainment, and I was alone and did not meet anyone, as people were enjoying the company of those they came with.

I have been on the Breakaway and stayed in the solo cabins. I met people there and hung out with them. I did not always hang out with them, but it was good to have people to be around when I want to be around people.

On the Breakaway, there were different restaurants, entertainment, a theatre with shows. Just so much more to do than on the Sky.

I would definitely choose the Epic over the Sky.

  3. Hello, everyone!

I am thinking of booking a cruise on the Getaway and most of the reviews I have read are from people who did not go alone.

I wanted to hear the experiences (positive and negative) from solo travelers, especially in regards to the Solo Cabin experience. Thanks!

  4. My reasons:

I'm single ATM and if I wait for someone to want to travel with me, I'll be waiting forever.

I love getting away and not being able to be reached.

I thought I would be able to meet other solo cruisers, but during my first cruise, most travelers my age traveled with SOs

I love doing what I want, when I want and on my schedule

  5. I am thinking about doing a solo cruise in October. What age range of travelers would you say occupied the solo cabins?

    40 and under?

    over 50?

I'm 33 and hope to click with people my age range.

Hello! I actually went looking for this thread today to reference for another thread - imagine my surprise when it had been bumped to the top!

I'm so glad that you've enjoyed my reviews! I am back in the states (spent the summer in New York City)! This will be my final year at Clemson - who knew undergrad would fly by so fast? I have my eyes on a Western Caribbean Disney Fantasy Cruise to celebrate!

  6. Hey everyone,

I have my second solo cruise next month on Carnival; my first was on NCL Sky. I am trying to decide whether I should do Anytime Dining, or assigned, and if assigned should I choose Early or Late.

Solo Travelers, in your experience on Carnival (I will be on the Breeze), do they seat you with other solo travelers? And if so, which time would put me in a better place to meet other solo travelers, early dining or late dining?

    Thanks in advance!

***I have looked at the roll call for my trip, but it seems filled with couples and I am interested in meeting other solos.
