  1. As only general information- out of all my touring in Alaska, this is one tour, I never recommend. The reference above- tells me there are wrong assumptions. This does NOT go to Mendenhall Glacier, you only have a brief distant view- coming off the lake, all the rest of the glacier views are BEHIND you. Main- views are backyards, on a very lacking river. This isn't a "cheap" tour. sure, you can find "good" reviews, I question, their experience. Money, in my opinion, is better spent elsewhere.

Far superior for a float trip is out out Haines and Skagway on the inside passage, plus just about any of the float trips mainland Alaska. This is way down the rankings in my opinion.

Thanks for your opinion, but unless you have actually done it, I will take the opinions of the people who have, since they have done it and given it good reviews.

But I have also done the research and watched the videos of other doing it, and I like rafting, so this is what I wanted to do. It may not be what you would book, but it is what I wanted.

I did a lot of research on excursions before I booked anything, so I know what I am getting into. and I am not going to either of the other places, so that recommendation does not help me or this poster at all

and it is called a Mendenhall Glacier Float Trip, it may not get as closer as if you did a tour of the Glacier, but the float trip down class 1/2 rapids and the scenery will be amazing, plus I do not need to be super close to the Glacier to get a good look at it and get some good pictures. If I decide I still have lots of time to take a bus to the Glacier Park as well.

  2. We are on the same sailing as well.

We are doing the Whale Watching Tour in Icy Strait through the cruise ship.

In Juneau we are doing the float trip to the mendenhall glacier

and in Ketchikan we are doing the ATV

All of ouyr excursions are booked through the ship. All we did was read through the information on each of the excursions we were interested in and then we picked the ones that fit us best.

  3. I am doing a roundtrip from Vancouver in a couple of weeks, and I am glad you don't think you missed anything doing a roundtrip. I am super excited for mine, and I have all my excursions booked, and I am ready to see Alaska :)

  4. When I went on my cruise with Carnival, I didnt even ask the room stewart, I said something in passing to him, that I wanted a twoel animal zoo, and he left them there till the last night of the cruise so I could have them all to take a picture of

  5. Hi,

I have been on a cruise before but with Carnival, I recently just perchased a cruise with Royal for next year. I keep reading things that are very different and hpe people can give me some information or just let me know anything that may be important

The first thing I noticed is that people pre-book seats to entertainment, on Carnival it was first come first serve

On Carnival they have a faster to the fun package where you get some of the same perks as the diamond passangers but for a cost, does royal have anything like this?

is ther anything else important that I should know about cruising with Royal

    Thanks
