  1. Thanks for all your replies!

I had a light bulb moment and actually called princess this morning 😂

Boarding for non-high loyalty tier passengers is between 1-4pm. I’m guessing the bag drops would open at the usual time and I’m assuming it will be a long chaotic queue….

We will probably arrive at 12 to get to the start of the line.

I'm intrigued what is the attraction of this huge ship?  This ship, like a little city, must be the attraction?

We usually prefer Radiance sized ships but were shuffled to Ovation post covid. It will be an interesting experience and I’m sure the kids will have a lot of fun. I didn’t really like Voyager when she was here - the shopping mall thing in the middle of the ship was very claustrophobic - but the bigger Ovation looks like she has a lot of glass and natural light which is very important to me.

Did you get a Royal up ? Studio interior to balcony obstructed for $440 . Under 2 k for solo ... over the moon with that price.😁

That’s a great price!! We just got lucky with the constant rebooking - we were originally booked on Serenade for December 2020 and were shuffled around via Radiance and now Ovation. They emailed us a royalup for $1600 each to go for a grand loft but that’s waaaaay to much for an aft with no bath and a 380m walk to the solarium. The genie would have been nice though 😄….

  4. We are booked on Radiance of the Seas for November. Our fave family ship - 4th cruise on her! I’d love to do something mid year, maybe a barrier reef cruise. Carnival has some good deals but need to convince hubby they aren’t ‘crazy clown cruise lines’ after one bad cruise with them 😂. We’ve had 5 P&O short breaks cancelled so far and I can’t face booking anything else until we have a firm restart date. Ugh I get so frustrated every time I see one of those ‘important information about your upcoming cruise’ emails…..

  5. Interesting article from Cruise Passenger. I wonder what difference this would have made for the Ruby Princess? I’d be happy to spend another 12 hours on a cruise 😂

Also worth noting ‘Cruise Lines International Association pointed out the cruise industry continues to achieve significantly lower rates of occurrence of COVID-19 — 33 percent lower than land based tourism venues.’

IF (and that’s a big “IF”) cruises initially started as NSW only cruises, what ports would they call on?

Presumably they’d sail in and out of Sydney.
Newcastle, Wollongong, and Eden have had cruise ships call in the past, haven’t they?

I wonder if there is any potential for Port Macquarie or Coffs Harbour.
    Where else?

Scenic cruise to lord Howe island? I’d love that more than Moreton island!

  7. I love seeing these photos! We just booked a 4 nighter on her in feb after our ovation cruise was cancelled.
Did anyone here sail on her when she was golden princess? We booked a suite (yay!) but I have no idea what cabin number it is. I think PO allocates the cabin at the pier? Haven’t sailed PO since the Jewel in 2010….
