  1. We just booked Aft Cabin 7652 for our July 2019 Med/Greek Isles Cruise and we're nervous as heck. Would love confirmation that 7652 balcony is STILL wrap around-ish/extra large AND that vibration is not a major issue. We've only done 4000+ guest ships so apprehensive for this one BUT we booked online the Harmony last week due to the 12 night itinerary. Thanks for help and feedback.

  2. It's worse than bad. After my Breeze cruise in Jan 2014, I booked the Breeze again for Feb 2015. A few months ago I decided to book again on the Breeze for Nov 2015. I hate the Breeze. Terrible Ship. Stay away. :p

Hi All! We've been reading over the most recent review for the Breeze and I'm getting a littler nervous . The reviews have gone way downhill since we first reserved our spot back in April. We are currently booked on the Breeze on Feb 27, 8 Day Eastern Caribbean to St. Thomas, St. Maarten, Antigua, and DR. BUT, the new reviews are going downhill.

We have just found an alternative 8 Day on the Sunshine that goes to St. Maarten, Grand Turk, San Juan, and St. Kitts.

Anyone been on both boats and have an opinion, or love one set of ports better than the other? We sailed the Liberty in February 2015 and loved it, so I'm fearful of being disappointed this go-round. Thanks!!

  3. Will try tomorrow...

PS. Have to line up for Comedy shows 30-40 mins if you want a great seat...lines get long early

Also need to wake up early for loungers at the Lido deck main pool. We preferred deck 5...quiet, loungers available, promenade for washrooms and bar

  4. Just off of the 8 Day Southern Caribbean cruise. Have all Fun Times but not scanned yet.

Didn't start boarding until Noon...had FTTF so got on quick. Got 2 of 3 suitcases (clothes) fairly quick but didn't get the 3rd until 4 pm ish.

Dinner in MDR first night was slow....so asked for a dif table/section on night 2

Dinner in MDR on 2nd night (Cruise Elegant night) was slow again and main server didn't speak much....so we got a dif table/section for night 3

Dinner in MDR, Table 299, Saphire Dining Room, My Time Dining, private table and perfect service every night

We befriended the Head Hostess (Jovanna) which is how we got this table. Server was from India and was fantastic (Maidu was his name, Ass't servers were Yoga and Bambang)

If you like beef ie prime rib, short ribs etc....the Dining room will be kind to you

Tried a few of the local port menu specials and all were very good

Guys Burgers, great as always...fries greasy..but delish

BlueIguana Burrito/Taco bar, fantastic...ate lunch here a couple of times

Pizza Pirate - NEVER any slices ready....argh

Lido Marketplate/Buffest.....have breakfast and lunch here a couple of times...was ok. Skip the Mongolian Wok area.

Cucina Italian for lunch - slow but good

Room 7278 was noisy each night till midnight via music from Atrium otherwise great location. There is a storage closet directly across from this room but no issues with noise and there are no other room doors immediately beside or across from this room so very private and quiet. Stateroom Attendant was Sergei from the Ukraine and he was also great. Gave us a tour of the suites at the end of the cruise. Got us a corkscrew for wine and was always friendly.

Night 3 the ship was incredibly rocky and I succumb to major sea sickness...I was toast from 4 pm to Midnight. Got pills from Guest Services AND slapped the ear patch on for the first time ever. Next day I was fine and was fine for the duration of the cruise.

Both my fiancé and I got a stomach bug which we blame on fries we had in port at a diner in Curacao. We are both finally fully recovered. It caused cramping for the bulk of the cruise. Didn't affect the blast we had on the cruise.

Aruba fantastic! Did the Carnival Off Road 4x4 tour to the Natural Pool. Rough and fun ride and amazing Natural Pool aka Conchi. Went to Eagle Beach via taxi after grabbing lunch on ship once tour was done. Beautiful beach. Wow. Speechless. Go to this beach and ask to be dropped off near Passions for a sunset dinner on the beach ($$$) Beach loungers were $10 or so for two. This was a quiet beach. One of the best I've been too.

Booked Irie Half Day Bus Tour in Curacao which was decent and stayed at Mambo beach which was the last stop on the tour. Cabbed it back. Fantastic beach as well with man made reef you can swim out to and climb up on and layout with waves splashing up on you or jump in and play in the warm water. Beach loungers were $6 or so for two. This was a busy beach.

Grand Turk - had booked the Stand Up Paddle Boarding through Carnival but it was canceled due to the choppy waters so we booked the ATV tour instead. Lots of fun but not very picturesque at all....drove through slums...similar to many other ATV tours I've done in St Thomas, Jamaica and St Maarten so oh well. Hung out at the beach afterwards in front of the ship. Cloudy day so back on the ship early.

Divas show...blah (2nd time for me seeing it, first for her). She wasn't impressed.

    The Brits...better than Divas

    Latin Nights....better than Divas

Love and Marriage show always funny

Cruise Director Matt....good, not Butch, but best aside from Butch

My fav cruise thus far thanks to the itinerary, ship and cruising partner.

  5. I've been on the Carnival Breeze, Dream and Magic along with RCL's Oasis and Allure of the Seas.

I have never cruised a smaller ship than these.

If you've done the Breeze and think it's big (as I did prior to the Allure and Oasis of the Seas), you will be blown away by the size of the Oasis and Allure. Zip line!!!!, Surf Simulators, fantastic Aqua Theatre shows, Boardwalk area for kids, Central Park, Incredible Theatre Performances FAR better than Carnival offers, Promenade Shops with Starbucks...the list goes on. Gigantic ship with tons to see and much different than the Carnival experience.

All that being said, my daughter was 11 when we went on the Dream, 12 on the Magic and 15 when she came with me on the Oasis of the Seas and she said she preferred the Carnival cruises better.....Says there was more to do...ie shows and "stuff" to watch/participate in.

We both preferred the Carnival marketplace buffet over the RCL ships.

I prefer the pool options on Allure/Oasis.

We've had much better Cruise Directors on the Carnival cruise ships.

Main Dining Room experience and food was the same on both Carnival and Royal for me.

Have had all balcony rooms...and no preference between cruise lines.

If I had my choice, I'd do Allure and Oasis every time if only they would offer a Southern Caribbean itinerary....which is why I am booked into the Breeze for Feb 14th for Aruba/Curacao and Grand Turk (taking a my fiancé, a first timer).

Looking forward to trying RCLs Quantam once they iron out kinks and Carnival Vista when launched since Vista will be Carnival's largest ship.

    Hmmmmm.....

Can't really tell if you enjoyed your cruise or not, by your comments.:confused:

We've been on the Breeze twice now, and hoping this year will be our 3rd.

She is our new favorite ship.

However, to be fair, we've never cruised Royal.

We have been looking at Oasis for May.....

    Tell us more.

    What was good?

    What was bad?

  6. Curious about noise issues around this area as well as we are in stateroom 7278 on the Feb 14th cruise. We are a few rooms down from the elevators (in one of the two regular balcony rooms mashed between the suites). I still have time to change rooms if needed.

Already did the Breeze in January 2014 and loved it. I actually prefer the dining room (MDR) for dinner every night, lido marketplace buffet for breakfast / brunch and Guy Burgers/Burrito/Pizza etc around the pool for lunch. If I get an MDR server I can't understand on the first night, I ask for a different table/server the next night. Typically I ask for a "happy, outgoing, experienced, talkative" server the first night at the hostess station when checking in for dinner.

Agreed re shows....I did the Dream back in 2011 and Magic in 2012 and the Theatre shows were a LOT better back then compared to the Theatre shows now.

Done both Carnival and RCL (Allure and Oasis) and the Carnival Buffet/Lido Marketplace is MUCH better than RCL!

  7. Cruised Carnival Dream, Magic and Breeze AND RCL Oasis and Allure of the Seas

Oasis and Allure are amazing ships. Huge! So much to see and do.

Rooms (I've always booked a balcony room)

Same although I prefer the RCL shower and balcony doors (doors slide shut like they do on the Breeze....Dream and Magic SLAM shut)

    Food

    MDR same

Buffet and poolside options go to Carnival by a mile

    Entertainment

    Cruise Directors - Carnival

    Main Theatre - RCL

Comedy - Carnival since they offer family friendly shows, RCL does not

    Price

Carnival - since they're more affordable....but if you haven't been on the Oasis or Allure, you have to if you can....massive and gorgeous ships and the cost is priced appropriately.

    Overall Experience

Carnival - based on my 5 cruises in past 3 years. Booked on the Breeze for Feb because of this
