  1. Thanks for all the help :) When I went on the site I booked with I thought the site WAS the actual trolley service . Bit confused but the site was called Cool Destinations and when I went on the site it said to click here for map which didnt come up. So after reading the reply I googled the cityview and the map did come up but then had no idea where we would dock. Thanks to Mike now I know EXACTLY where we dock and where to walk , thanks again :)

  2. Ok , took advice and did find a fantastic deal with Cityview Trolley Tours. Now here is my dilemma, I never thought before but I have never been to Key West and have assumed that the trolley would be parked as soon as I walked off the ship. Stupid assumption on my part I know. Now I am worried I will not be even close to where I need to hop on the trolley , which is Whitehead Street, means nothing to me and I was sent a google map but it does not show where the cruise ship docks ( Carnival) , nor do I know the area to know where to walk or even what direction I need to go as soon as I get off the ship. I am hoping someone out there has taken this trolley tour and knows which way to go. Thanks to anyone who can help direct me properly , I think it must be near a Mallory Square ,(where ever that is ), because it says there is parking there ??

  3. Thanks , I do know that the bus that turns into a boat goes to the 7 mile beach but when I read the reviews it sounded like you would only get 30-45 min. there and I wasnt sure if that were to swim or just wander around if there is shopping also. Nice to know that everyone does recommend going to this area though :)

  4. We will be going on an excursion which is from 10:30-12:30pm on that bus which is also a boat tour which we booked through Carnival. Would anyone know if that would leave us enough time to "go to HELL"(hehe), after we get back at 12:30 and our ship leaves at 4pm?? Also does anyone know where or if there is a place to swim as soon as we get off the tender. We have never been to GC before so have no idea what it is like or how to get around. Thanks :)

  5. If you look at the FAQs for the various trolley and Conch Train tours, you will find a money-back guarantee for cancellations. This is not true for all water-related trips.

    e.g.

"Because we believe so strongly in the quality of our tours, we offer a 100% money back guarantee, no questions asked."

    Pjk

Thank you so much for the info :)

  6. Book it on line it is fine ..

We are also going to Key West for the first time and were wondering what would happen if by any chance there were a storm and the ship got diverted and did not even get to Key West. Does anyone know if booking on line you are able to get refunds with tour companies if that were to happen??

  7. Thanks again everyone. I just love this site :) Ok so now I know my husband and I will both have to get off and go through customs and immigration since we are Canadians and thank goodness we dont have to take our luggage but does anyone know if a Carnival employee will show us where to go and where we come back at ?? So passports, card from Carnival , and should we have drivers licenses and credit card with us also ?? Thanks again for any help so much appreciated more than you know :)

  8. This, my friend, is one of life's greatest mysteries. If we knew, we would all be able to upgrade.

Most lines are moving away from upgrades and are now offering upsells. If the price is right, we jump all over those upsells!

TRACIEABD , do you mean an upsell at the time you are booking?? For instance you decide on lets say a balcony, and then they will ask you," well for this much extra today we will give you a LARGER balcony"??Or do you mean when you get on the ship they will ask you if you want to pay extra for a cabin that is not being used ??? But how would that happen , did you go to the Guest Services and ask them yourself ??

  9. Interesting, I am very happy with the area and the cabin I picked but if someone were to offer me something I would for sure want to inquire about it as I wouldnt pay the price of a spa cabin but if it was offered well... Just curious I guess how some end up being offered money too. I just couldnt believe it when I read it. It took me a bit to understand what OBC meant lol!! I thought is was some sort of OCEAN ____ CABIN. as they were offered a spa cabin and it said OBC , until they said money I thought it was an upgrade of two different choice of cabins lol!!! Just trying to learn the ins and outs and tips for all this stuff :) :) :)

  10. I have been viewing some posts and I came across a post that said they were offered an upgrade or money ????? Dont really understand why or how Carnival would offer someone money . Do many people get offered an upgrade or is it only for a select few?? Do you have a chance to be offered one if you have booked with a travel agency ?? How does it work , does someone actually call you from Carnival or do you see it on your Carnival .com site ?? Thanks for any answers :):confused::confused::confused::confused:

  11. Thank you all so much :) It is so nice to have such wonderful people to help , it was a concern , not a huge deal but just the unknown of what we would have to do . So excited to find this info out though it is going to be soooooo nice to be able to get on the ship earlier and maybe even get to try one of those nice Cabanas we saw on the adult deck area :) :)

RE: Bruce I didnt know it was called a board lol!! I just clicked what you gave me and thought it was called a thread. Thanks :)

Thanks to you all , All THE BEST FROM CANADA :)

  12. Once again I am new at posting stuff but want to thank all you experienced cruisers who really take the time to help us less experienced cruisers. I have really learned alot of tips and information that is invaluable.I am not sure if I am allowed to ask more than one question or not My first post or question was yesterday and I forgot to ask help with this.

Ok so here is my question , I just booked two cruises with a travel agency with Carnival Cruise. Now I asked the agent to book me a back to back as we wanted to stay longer on the ship but they only had the two separate sailings one after the other.I said I do not want to have to change rooms and would like the same room. She then did get the same room but said we would have to get off and go through immigration again and she thinks we would have to pack back up our suitcases and take them with us. She told us when we get on to go to the cruise desk and let them know we are doing a back to back and they will escort us off the ship when the first week is up.

If any of you know how to do this I could really use the info. Oh my goodness what a pain it is to have to pack everything back up and go back and stand with your luggage. This just seems kind of strange . I mean my bags would have cleared the first week and then everytime I may go off the ship I would have to go through a security again so I would not be able to have brought anything bad back on during the week, it just seems odd to me , but then again I have no idea . I do have the same cabin already booked and confirmed for the two weeks.

Any Info or tips would be much appreciated :)

  13. Thank you so very much for taking the time to answer my questions. I am very excited and so glad to finally get on here myself and ask for help :) Very kind of you and hopefully someday I will learn how you were able to write your answers in red lol!!!Wow this site is full of some fantastic people :)

  14. We just got a cab when we got off the ship and went to Paradise beach. No excursion necessary. There is a line of cabs there to take you back to the ship whenever you are ready.

There is a fee of $3/pp which covers lounge chairs, umbrellas, pool, wifi. They have drinks & food for purchase. It does say on their website that you are expected to pay $10 in food/drinks per person while there.

Thank you so much for your information . It is much appreciated :) So nice to have a site that newbies can get such helpful info from more experienced cruisers :)

  15. Look here:

    http://www.paradise-beach-cozumel.com/

Paradise beach is a nice place to go if you decide to have a beach day. I did not care for the ruins when I went....hot and boring but many people like it.

    For Key West look at

    www.trolleytours.com/key west

This may sound like a silly question but can you go into the pool also at Paradise Beach and does anyone know if you can only go if you book an excursion to there ?? Thanks :)

  16. Ok never posted to ask a question on here before although I have used this site in the past for some very good informative tips when cruising to Bermuda last year. So thanks to all of you experienced cruisers who take the time to answer other newer cruisers questions. Much appreciated :)

Now I could use some help with some ports and the ship itself. Any tips are welcomed :)

1.GRAND TURK- Can you just walk off the boat in Grand Turk and go swimming ?? Fees??I saw pics of a pool on someones post and just wondering about area and fees.

2.SAN JUAN- My husband and I both walked around Bermuda and were able to walk around St.George but we do both have limited knee injuries, we can take it slow just maybe not walking for hours at a time , but would we be able to walk around San Juan enough to visit a fort or is the Barcardi Tour easy , any suggestions /prices / tips ??I think it would be interesting but the reviews from others seem to say they spent too much time waiting for the excursion to start when we basically would just like to perhaps see it ourselves without a group.Go at our own pace.

3.Grand Cayman- easiest place to find swimming close to ship and what would be the best historical building/place to visit ??

The ship -when you dine do you get to pick where you sit or is it pre-assigned? We know we were assigned early dining . We have cruised with Carnival before but that was a long time ago.

We have booked a Deluxe Oceanview on #1 Deck in the middle. Was this a bad choice , we are getting nervous about being able to sleep because of the engine and being so close to the bottom. We just werent really thinking , we do wear earplugs though :):)

Oh and does it cost to go sit at the Adults only deck.

Any other input on any other swimming or historical building that is close to the ship in St.Kitts or Key West. We are also not into shopping at expensive stores would rather buy from local person on street or a market.

hope my first post is not too long oops  Now to figure out how to post ...
