  1. I recently booked online using the military rate. The early saver price was exactly the same, but I chose military as I was unsure if we would actually be able to go and the military rate deposit is refundable (for now). My question is if in the next few weeks I am able to decide that we are definitely going and the prices stay the same would it be in my best interest to change to early saver? I'm not sure how this all works, so if yes can you please explain why?

Yes you can.. but remember you will be cahrged a fee if you modify the ES rate and you will lose your deposit( which will go on as a future cruise credit) I did it already with out up coming cruise.. Keep checking Military rates and interline rates on your favorite sites as an additional price comparison and price drop.. Thank you for your service to your country..

  2. I don't see anything wrong with them. If you don't like the colors or design close your eyes..

Like another poster said what is gaudy to one person is not to another..

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I like the wow factor of the Farcus ships designs but I also like the semi tropical subdued look of the Dream Class.. can't wait to see what is in store for the Vista Class

  3. We've been on the Liberty twice (currently our favorite ship), which is one of the Freedom's sister ships. I don't know how similar they will be once the upgrades on the Freedom are done, but if it's like the Liberty, it will be fantastic! We've been on the Destiny, which was made over into the Sunshine. I've read more than a few complaints about the Sunshine, but I'll reserve judgement until we sail on it. Up next for us is the Breeze, which has become one of the most popular ships in the fleet, based on everything I've read. Here's what I would do. Write down the name of each ship on a piece of paper, list each ship's amenities, the itinerary for each, and the cost. Then get as much of the family together as possible and discuss it together. Take a vote, and let the majority decide.;)

We went on the Liberty as well, not too long ago really. Josh was our CD. the conquest class ship is a favorite for sure. Not too big, not too small. I am seeing pictures of the bloggers cruise on the social media thing.. and have heard mixed reviews but I believe a cruise is what you make it, not what someone makes for you.

I like your idea about the pieces of paper but we live all over the country so we might have to do it on skype or something, but it would sure take a lot of pressure off me trying to set this all up.

There is also a huge price difference in the Breeze and Freedom..and that might come into play as well

    ARGH!!!

  4. I really liked The Breeze. I went with my mom and knew that my family would love it. We were debating between these two cruises for Easter.

Liberty- 7 night Cozumel, Belize, Roaton, and Grand Cayman. It was $500 cheaper than Breeze.

Breeze- 6 night Grand Turk, St Thomas, St Martin

My family choose Liberty because it was a longer cruise.

I would agree on that too.. I like the longer itineraries.

We have been on the Liberty and had a fantastic time. The price was definitely right and that is the kicker for me. there is nearly $100 different or more between the Freedom and the Breeze..

  5. We want to do a family cruise in Feb 2015. There is 3 ships we are considering, The Breeze, The Freedom ( which will have it upgrades done by then) and The Sunshine. Our Family will be from ages 75 down to 10..Based on your experiences which one of these 3 would you think would best suit our needs.

    TIA

  6. I love Grand Turk for Snorkeling. we did a snorkel excursion thru Carnival to the wall.. we had an open bar and snacks on the way back.

We were never rushed..The guides took the novice snorkelers off to the side and spent some extra time with them getting therm used to breathing thru the equipment and then more experienced ones went with another guide.

Our guide took a twinkie for bait and went down the wall ( 7000 ft deep) and baited the fish until he got them all up to the top of the ridge .. great photo opportunity.. would highly recommended the deluxe sail and snorkel on the Carnival website and would personally do it again in a heart beat. Happy Cruising!!!

  7. We just did the Liberty Nov 16 2013.. I can say it was one of the best cruises with CCl we have had

The crew and Josh had everything to do with it.. they were amazing.. Our server was Jacques in the MDR silver Olympia, and his side kick Iputu as well as the best cabin steward we have EVER had Ketut was incredible..

We went to Nachi in Cozumel.. it was our second time there and again had a fabulous time as wella s in Grand Cayman we did a ship sponsored excursion ti the turtle farm.. this one we would pass on next time but it was the tour operators fault not Carnival

The food was fantastic, the servers amazing , the ship was incredible would sail on the Liberty again and again

  8. Thank you for posting this OP..

We can so relate to the slamming door issue.. On the Liberty we had the worst door slammers yet.. Room service SLAM, out the balcony door SLAM, in the cabin SLAM, every morning at 7 sharp.. did not even have to look at the watches to know what time it was..

This is an issue but out side of letting the person know that it is bothering you then follow up as needed there is not much the cruise line can do about it..the doors need to make a seal to keep the ship dry in the middle incase of emergency so we have to do what we can to stop the motivation to slam those doors!!

  9. We were on the Liberty a little over a week ago and the cruise down to the Caribbean was smooth like glass but coming back after leaving GC was rough as heck.. we hit the beginning of a low pressure system that brought Category 2 Hurricane force winds to the East Coast of Canada Mid week last week.. ya just never know..

  10. I posted this several days ago and did not get a response from Putterdude. Does anyone else have any ideas.

If I am not mistaken there was a restaurant just down the street form the hotel but everything is within walking distance on Robson.. it is a major street in the Downtown area of Vancouver..

    Have a wonderful cruise!!
