I think the poster meant "hard to hit 4+ drinks on disembarkation day" as there's not a lot of time to avail of the vouchers before you get off the ship.

We are looking at booking the Wonder TA for this October. Last time we did one, it was Oasis without kids out of Southampton and we had terrible weather and the disembarkation at Miami port was the worst one we had experienced.

So could anyone please share their experiences of recent transatlantic cruises  in regard to the following:

1) weather leaving from Barcelona in end October - I assume it’s less likely that the ship will steer North to avoid storms like when we were on Oasis out of Southampton? Are pool days out of the question until we get really close to Florida?

2) Disembarkation - did we get unlucky or are lines always much worse when getting off a transatlantic?

3) has anyone traveled with young children on a transatlantic? I know typically there’s fewer children but I’m hopeful there’d be enough activity on board the ship to keep them entertained for the many sea days in a row - would love to hear your experiences…

Ok so possibly a random question, but we are sailing on Indy in a couple of weeks and was trying to prepare our 3 year old for Adventure Ocean. She asked us if there was a play kitchen there as that's one of her favourite types of toy to play with. Although I know it has just been refurbished, does anyone know if when they travelled before with their child on Indy, whether Adventure Ocean had a play kitchen?

It might be the difference between our little girl skipping in each day or being reluctant to go!

My wife and I are looking into a Transatlantic but want to know if it's possible to avail of Choice Air if you have a UK/Ireland reservation number?

Just hoping someone can help us. We are flying into Gatwick and travelling by train to Southampton Central on the day of our next cruise. However, we are struggling to find any taxis with car seats who would take us to the Cruise terminal from the train station.

I understand that this is a very short drive but both my wife and I would feel more comfortable if our daughter was in a car seat for the journey, but don't want to fly with one for the sake of two very short car journeys.

As such, we were wondering is it possible to walk from the train station to the Celebrity Cruise terminal. Google Maps suggests it would take no more than 20/25 mins to walk but my wife thinks that it may not be possible for pedestrians to access the terminals. Can anyone confirm one way or another for us?

So, I imagine Dru is doing the regular 4 month contracts and Abe is doing the 2 month fill-ins? (Dru had mentioned this when I spoke with him last November) But, if Dru is on Allure for 2 months before heading over to Anthem, then he will probably only do 2 months there at first. I hope to have the dates all sorted out when I am on Anthem next week.

 

I wonder where Leigh will be during the summer? He is the regular CD of Indy, but Joff is taking over the European sailings, which interrupts Leigh's regular contracts there.

Could Leigh be going to Harmony? I hope so as my wife and I really enjoyed sailing with him and Frankie back on Explorer!

It seems very strange that it would be announced in this way, with so little detail - I'm guessing the twitter account shouldn't have revealed it yet, as I would expect links to an official press release and a name for the Royal Caribbean exec.

Even stranger that DD on Oasis would steal the thunder from Quantum and launch first, given it was positioned as a Quantum-class innovation!

If it was to be a suite, wouldn't they have started selling it now for post dry dock cruises?

If there is no English Pub on board the ship and it is sailing in the US then it is likely that they will not have cider. Usually it is only the ships with Pubs or that are sailing European itineraries that have cider. However, it doesn't hurt to ask when you get onboard. Your best bet would be to check the Schooner Bar.

I am a big fan of the English Pub on Voyager class and up, as I can get Strongbow cider (I'm not really a beer drinker!)

On Legend of the Seas, I believe there's no English Pub - is there any other bars on the ship that serve cider?

My wife and I are travelling on Explorer of the Seas in March. We will be in Saint Martin on the 15th March, where Ireland may (without getting ahead of ourselves) be playing for the grand slam! Kick off will be at 1.00pm SXM time, so should be finished approx. 3.00 pm. We have found castaways bar but was wondering if this is close to a nice beach we could go to in the morning? We have to be back on board at 4.30pm - are there any other bars close to a beach likely to show rugby that would be a better option for us?
