Have 6 NCL cruises, 1 Sky and 5 Gem. Have booked Breakaway March 2019 out of NOLA for a change in ship, departure and ports.

I am asking for any and all information I can get on the ship. Have talked to a couple of people when on Gem that have sailed on Breakaway and am getting mixed impressions.

To anyone who has sailed Breakaway I am looking for info on anything for meals, shows, reservations(dinner, shows), outdoors activities (ropes course, pools, mini golf) and has anyone had an bad experience with activities in atrium with the casino right above.

I want the good, bad and ugly please. Thanks

Hi Everyone! 8 days and counting until we set sail on the Getaway - cruising Haven for the first time with our 10 yo son. So excited!! I've seen several entries on this board that you guys have asked that the "refrigerator be emptied." Just curious, what is in the refrigerator before it is emptied? Also, is there a Diet Coke in sight on the ship? I'm from Atlanta, so this whole Diet Pepsi thing is quite upsetting! LOL

I, like you, are a Diet Coke aholic. You will not find any on board and you can no longer bring it on board

They have different guest check in areas at the terminals. Haven and suites, latitudes and first time cruisers. The first time cruisers line usually takes the longest to get through.

I have on 2 previous cruises stayed in north Bergen NJ and parked at port imperial for 15/day at indoor garage and took ferry across, $9/person each way and walked about 2 blocks to the pier at the baggage drop off level. When we return from cruise no fight getting out of pier parking lot and no traffic on the jersey side.

Just back from Gem cruise and made stop at private island. Did not see adult only area. Had small cabana #23(last on the end) and the only thing beyond that is a lagoon with loungers and a lot of family's made it down that way.

Leaving on the Gem this Saturday. On same cruise 1 year ago. Any recent cruisers have an update on the entertainment?? New shows? New cast members?

Taking daughter and son-in-law on cruise in June. Booked 2 bedroom suite initally (5 people) and with fares drops have now kept suite (wife, son and I) and have booked them a balcony(they have no idea) and have all paperwork and cruise related stuff coming to me. Plan to tell them at the pier(this is their 1st cruise) when we have to go to different check in.

I was just after final payment and price had dropped again for upcoming cruise (300.00).

Was told no upgrade available but was given OBC of 25% of price drop (after final payment this is about all they will give(usually))

Is there a special package price? I have been to the site and do not see a reference to transportation to port. Did you have to call to get a package?

Made final payment a couple of weeks ago for June cruise on Gem. Just before making payment called PCC and got a nice drop in price(in a suite). Made new final payment and did not check prices for cabin since, figure past final payment, happy with what I paid so now time to get ready to cruise. Yesterday out of the blue PCC calls and informs me of another price drop and adjusts cost of cruise and will be sending a refund check(tried to just make it OBC but said he couldn't ). This drop was twice as much as the first!! Still 90 days out, wonder what else might happen

If you plan on no extras you really only need to cover the daily service charge.

Received my pre-cruise concierge letter for June cruise on Gem and it list Carlos as the concierge

The Sky was our first NCL and first cruise ever. We had a great time and found lots to do. Sold on NCL since, 2nd Gem cruise in June.

Anyone have new information on this? I too would like to establish a cash on board account( really trying to get away from credit cards and like spending control with cash). So do you have to have a large cash account along with the UBP so they don't cut you off(used cash before without UBP and excess was not refunded until about 1 month after cruise)

So here is a question I have not seen(at least I don't think I have, and I have read all UBP posts), if you have a cash account for on board account and have UBP and they are deducting from account each drink until end of cruise when they zero bar bill, do you have to keep adding money to account to cover drinks to just at the end have a big account with money left that will then be send to you in a check some 30 days after your cruise ( I know credit card would be better to use, just like control with cash account).

Had AFT Mini-Suite on deck 11 below great outdoors and never really had a noise issue

I did this on the Gem recently, had used a credit card in the past. The one thing I will tell you is don't put a large amount in at one time. You can add to it as you go. If you don't spend what is in the account it is not refunded at the end of the cruise, they send a refund check about 30 days after.
