I just wondered if the club 21 is independent and how hal gets its pound of flesh. There has to be something in it for them that's for sure. Thank you for the information.
HAL gets a cut on Club 21. I’m not sure of the cut but they definitely make money on the casino. That’s why there are casino offers and discounts 😉

Thnx for the report + thnx for the Rogerisms u sent..
Am avidly following , but it is hard with different threads.
Could u combine them as 1 liike other live reports?
It would be so much easier to follow u that way.
Hate to miss anything.

I will ask Hubby (Crew News) to post them in a new thread. Hopefully he will agree to do so. I know he loves to pass them along, but he might have a tendency to be hesitant to start a new thread just for his "Rogerisms".
He is still sleeping and I'll ask him when he wakes.
Bumperoo, I am so glad that you soooooooooooo loved your cruise on my favorite HAL ship and to the place I love the most in the world, Alaska!!! Cannot wait to read more of your cruise and to enjoy it through your words:)
Joanie
just a thought for U and your DH - why not send them in to halfacts.com?
Then they would be there for anyone. U get credit for what U send in from what I have seen. It is a good site - have U seen it?

very interesting and like your blog. Thank U very much.

However, we were lucky to have a break during a break - we took a cruise on the MSC Divina a couple of month ago.
Yacht Club! This is an variation of the "ship within a ship" concept that was introduced earlier by NCL ("Haven").
Having experienced this unforgettable, incomparable (add your adjective) luxury and exclusivity we have to "come back" to our cruises on the Eurodam and Nieuw Amsterdam and look at them from a new perspective.
Honestly, our experience with the unparalleled luxury of the YC wasn't eye opener because, for experienced cruisers, many things were clear a priori.
Now it's time to verbalize it.
Enjoy your cruises!
am confused. U said in your 1st post (#1) u sailed on the MSC
The Signature ships have appeared as a comparison for two reasons.
1. We were considering MSC Divina for a budget cruise last fall, but finally found a better deal from... HAL (Signature Class). My pre-cruise research was posted as a thread on MSC board (33,000 views).
2. Our impressions from the Signature ship were still fresh, so some YC exclusivities looked like grotesque in comparison.
here U say U were considering MSC but did Holland.
thnx for reply but it now sounds like U did not sail MSC despite your 1st post where U said you did?
luxury is about a lot more than amenities but service + food + other things. I know U disagree

\From the number of photos without people and in unusual places on his "Grand Tour" thread in February (http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1895592), I believe he worked on the Signature ships for some time. I asked him that on that thread, but he never gave an answer.agree with u. I am mostly a lurker but read a lot.
thought he could be a hot man - there is one big on photos - but who knows?
-
I don't post a lot but......
I don't think u can call Holland a luxury cruise line - especially the Signature ships. I think maybe the Prisnedam is the closest but even it is not a Seabourn or Silversea.
I am curious though - did you really go on MSC? It seems that many on that board think you did not? http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2048727
Or did you come here hoping that the Holland board would go for it when the MSC board didn't ?

thank u. A fun read and educational

Too bad. I sent Joanie some great pictures of a couple of cabins and then deleted them from my computer to make more room on my hard drive. I tried yesterday to get Joanie to send them back to me and she advised she has deleted the complete website. What a shame. So many people sent her pictures to be enjoyed by everyone on CC and now she has deleted them rather than share them with your new site. I'm very disappointed as I'm sure a lot of you are who provided pictures in the past. Let's hope many of you see this and will send your old pictures to this site if you still have them.
ARe U sure the pictures are gone? they are usually on a hard drive or something? I can't believe that the pics were destroyed without anyone being told or offered them back. That would be awful A shame if everyone's contributions are gone. This new site is very easy to follow - thank you.

I am really confused. arn't there a lot of cabins on this ship?
How can 1 person say everything is ok if u didn't talk to everyone in all the cabins.
I thought u were going to post a list with all the cabins that had problems.
What did the officers say when u asked them?
Thnx.

Again, I am merely repeating what a member review posted - best to read this report first hand so there is no further confusion about this report of "acceptable range" of cabin temperatures that HAL has established. Beyond that, HAL will be the best resource for this information so one knows ahead of time if this is agreeable or not before one books a cruise.
but how many times do u have to repeat this??
This 'fact' gets a bit tiresome. I am nervous to post but..
testing the temp with no valid statement of how hot is acceptable doesn't make me feel better.
I put faith in the posters here who have shared their experiences - happy if all is good for u but I don't want one of those affected to be me.
I hope u aren't one of them in the future. sometimes things you say can come back to bite you.

We were on a ship which I will not name and received a call the first afternoon after boarding. We were asked if we would be agreeable to let a photographer hired to do ships' photos use our Suite to take his photos which would be used in upcoming brochures. We thought it would be fun and agreed. All the Suites he wanted to photograph were occupied on that cruise.
It turned into a much longer episode than we expected and it lasted hours which was surprising to us but very interesting to watch. He had to wait until sun was shining at just the angle he wanted, blah blah blah
VERY well known photographer and very nice. We enjoyed chatting with him while he did his work and I teased how would we know for sure if the photo in the brochure really was our suite. He suggested I put something (small) of our personal possession on the counter and he would include it in the photo so we would know it was our cabin.
We had a framed photo of our sweet dog with us (I never traveled without it :o) and he placed it on the counter incorporated into his setting and sure enough when we saw the brochures some months later, our furbaby's photo was included. :)
Oh so many HAL stories we have; so many wonderful memories. :)
WOW - awesome story - reason u won't share the ship at the time? it would be neat to know!!! of course if u prefer not, I get it - but it would be nice. What kind of dog did/do you have?
Incredible story!!!

I thought we already had a Dr. Dog---who also hasn't been heard from---something is strange here! If you are not one and the same, what is with the "dog" aspect???
Thanks for asking. I wish I was a vet - I would be rich - instead I make them rich - I have a lot of dogs - so I thought the name suited when I signed up. I didn't see anyone else with my name so I thought it was ok?
NW person asked for my opinon - Corkage fee seems like a fair compromise. Think it was suggested earlier? Seems fair to everyone. People who don't want to bring wine on need to worry and people who want to bring wine can.

I guess you chose the group you like to harass. Am I right? Do I win a prize?? Please, I want a prize!!!
Lurker here - following but scared to post - but I really would like to give u a prize!
