Sure is beginning to look a lot like Christmas. We board Millie on Dec 10 so very excited. Thanks for all your posts. Looks like you had a great time.
-
As Classy mentioned, our roll call for the cruise on Millie out of Singapore on 10 December is very active. Just a little over 3 weeks to go, so I am looking forward to your updates. Thanks for sharing your adventures and letting us tag along for the ride.

Thanks for sharing this link. We are due to stop at Piraeus on our cruise in July.

Hi TXCruiser10
If you're on the Oosterdam leaving Rome on July 23, we might see you aboard. We will be travelling through Europe for a couple of weeks before the cruise and we have not for one minute, contemplated cancelling a trip that we have been planning and looking forward to for some time - but as others have said, it is a personal choice.
I'm sure the cruise line will constantly monitor the landscape and will opt for alternative ports if safety is an issue.
Hope to see you onboard !

Just back from our cruise and yes, we were in Formal wear for both the Formal Nights and we are Singaporean. :)
We are sailing on the Mariner next Thursday (05/11) from Singapore. Just wondering if there were any theme nights during the cruise? Thanks.
-
We are going to be on the Mariner of the Seas leaving Singapore Nov 5. I would like to know on formal night what do people normally wear?
It seems these days people are not dressing up as much.
Thanks for any input:)
Hi ... I was just thinking the same thing as we are on the same cruise. Might see you on board. :)
-
Thanks - will check it out. :)

Hi spandance
We too are on the Mariner of the Seas in November (depart Singapore Nov5) and are interested in Phi Phi Island. Where did you find the info about the ferry service?
Thanks
Sherenne

I'm not sure but you may not be able to get to the top of Marina Bay Sands unless your a guest of the hotel (or pay a fee).
As far as food...take the MRT to Lau Pa Sat during the evening for their street B-B-Q...the best Satay ever...We actually went two nights during our pre-cruise (Mariner) stay this past March.
Thanks Ashland for the tip on where to find the best Satay and the street BBQ. Worth checking out, we think :-)

Any idea how long these protests have been going for? We are hoping to travel in to KL when our ship docks at Port Klang on November 6 to visit our nephew who is currently working in KL.
-
Thanks - it's certainly going to be difficult deciding on food options. I'm also researching the other ports of call so you may see questions in other threads relating to those from me. There is a wealth of knowledge on here and researching is half the fun. Thanks again. :)

Hi Ilovecruising2
Thanks for the heads up on where the Mariner of the Seas will be departing. Really appreciate your help and posting the video which gives us an idea on what to expect. We are looking forward to visiting your wonderful city.
Cheers... Sherenne

Thanks everyone for the great advice and ideas on what to do in Singapore. We will definitely take in Gardens by the Sea at night.
Wangeling gal - Marina Bay Sands and a Singapore Sling from Raffles were on our list. Great minds think alike. :D Think we might have a problem though on deciding where to eat. :D

Which hotel will you be staying at? Welcome to Singapore!
Which ship and which cruise terminal? Yes, it should be possible to catch a train to the cruise terminal.
If your ship is sailing from Marina Bay Cruise Center, this video would be useful. The MRT station can be seen at 4:00. The station is called Marina South Pier, on the North-South line. There is a slight walk to the cruise terminal, but the ground is flat, so you should be able to wheel your luggage easily.

The other cruise terminal is at Harbourfront. There is also an MRT station there called Harbourfront.
Hi Ilovecruising2
Thanks for your help. We are staying at the V Hotel Lavender in Singapore and from what we have read, it says the Lavender MRT station is just below the hotel. Not sure what terminal our ship departs from. The only advice we have so far is that it departs Singapore? We are cruising with Royal Carribean on Mariner of the Seas departing Singapore on 5 November.
We overnight in Singapore pre-cruise. Are there any night markets that you recommend? We were also thinking of going to the Gardens by the Sea for the night time light show and/or a cruise on a bum boat. Would you recommend doing this?
Thanks again for your help.

Thanks Widebay for starting this thread and to others who have taken time to post on here with ideas for places to visit in Singapore. We are doing a 7 day cruise from Singapore in November so your knowledge is invaluable for a first time visitor. We have a night pre cruise and a full day when we return before flying home in Singapore so this thread has given us a lot of options. Is it possible to catch a train to the cruise terminal. Our hotel is close to a MRT station so wondering if train is the easiest option to get to the port.

TODAYS 1 DAY SALE!! Today's 1 day sale will see you flying to Singapore on the 21st January 2016 and staying 1nt pre cruise before embarking the Mariner of the Seas for your 4* full board cruise visiting Kuala Lumpar, Penang, Langkawi & Phuket (overnight) before disembarking back in Singapore for your flight back to Sydney, please call to add on additional nights or regional flights.
Today's 1 day sale is based on our deal of the week price but with extra savings on upgraded staterooms. For this week only we are selling the Fly/Stay/Cruise package from just $1199pp but this finishes Saturday. On top of this amazing price for one day only you can upgrade to an oceanview from just $49pp that's just $7 per night!! Or why not upgrade to a balcony stateroom from as little as $150pp
This deal also includes all your port fees, taxes, food and entertainment onboard!!
We just recently purchased the same fly/cruise deal for $1050. Same cruise line and ship but it was for the cruise departing on 5 November from Singapore. Looking forward to it.

On of the ladies on our roll call organised a trip from Akaroa to Arthurs Pass on our last cruise. The trip was organised through nzbicycletours.com
You can also email them at bicycletours@xtra.co.nz
Don't let the name put you off. They also do trips that are not bicycle related :D Our tour guide Brian did a fantastic job and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. We certainly covered a few miles that day and saw some wonderful sights. One of the benefits I guess of having a 'local' as your tour guide.
Hope you have fun down here and enjoy your cruise. :D

Thanks everyone for your help and advice - really appreciate it and it certainly helps in deciding which way to go. 38 days till sailaway ... so ready for a holiday :D

Hi all
Just wondering if anyone has sailed with Celebrity recently and can give us a guide to the drink prices please. In particular the cocktails/martinis and wine.
We unfortunately did not get the free beverage package with our cruise. Great price on the cruise though :D
