  1. Hello all! This NYE we are taking our 6th cruise, but it is our first winter cruise and our first cruise in about 5 years (we had one scheduled in Oct 2020 but we know how that ended up). We are doing the Carnival Horizon Dec 31- Jan 6. Ports are: Miami, Nassau, Grand Turk and Amber Cove. I've looked up the weather in these ports during this time of year and it seems decent (around 80) but I'm curious about the pools on the ship. Will they be pretty chilly on sea days? Also, where is the best place to get detailed info like past NYE Fun Times schedules, etc. The forums seem to be a lot less active than they used to be sadly and I've noticed a lot of people linking to blogs for the info. Do you have a favorite blog for Carnival info that you can recommend? TIA!

  2. Agh! Never mind! I thought you were going on the Horizon for some reason!  Lol Just ignore me!🤣

Hey there! We are going on the Horizon on 12/31/23 and I am having the hardest time finding updated info. It's so sad that these forums seem to be dying out. Anywho, our cruise is a 6 day as well! If you can post here after your cruise with any information at all I would be so appreciative!! Have an awesome cruise!

  3. Hello all!

We have booked a cruise for NYE 2023 on the Horizon. This is our 6th cruise but due to covid cancelling our last one, we haven’t cruised since 2018. Anywho, my friend just went on the Horizon and said she never saw any after dinner shots being served/offered. Do they not still do those? You know the Scooby snacks and…. ok that’s the only one I remember the name of! lol But does anyone know what I’m talking about?? Is this not a thing anymore?!

Only if they have a sofabed and/or pullmans.

What stateroom number are you considering?

I'm actually thinking about calling RCCL and having them help me book a spacious ocean balcony and doing the 'let them choose the room' so it will be a little cheaper.  Is that a horrible idea?!? LOL  Will they put me in an obstructed view if I do that?

The "spacious" OV balcony is 203 sq. ft   the balcony is 42 sq. ft.

The standard balcony is 198 sq. ft. and a 46 sq. ft. balcony.

So, overall, the standard cabin/balcony is 1 sq. ft smaller than the "spacious" cabin/balcony combo.  With the "spacious" you get more cabin space and a slightly less deep balcony.

Thanks for the info!  I guess it really is just that tiny bit of difference.  So weird! Lol

  6. Hi fellow cruisers!

I'm looking to book a cruise on the Mariner OTS for this coming fall.  I'm a bit confused in the difference between an ocean view balcony and a spacious ocean view balcony. Especially since the spacious specs seem a couple feet smaller from what I'm seeing, not to mention the spacious balconies are showing cheaper??  Can anyone help me out with what the difference between the 2 categories is?  Thanks so much!

I'd rather be further from the front of the ship, so I'd go with the room next to your sister.  They aren't "connecting", so there shouldn't be an issue.  The balcony is 42 sq. ft....not huge, but sufficient to ocean gaze or sit and read a book.  There is no room for a lounger.  You will have 2 chairs and a small (knee-high) patio table.

Cb, What is the downside of having a front ship cabin?  Im about to book on Mariner and there are front corner cabins on deck 6 and 8. I thought this might be a nice view but I'm not sure if theres a downside to this location??

  9. Congrats! I know exactly how that feels! We sail the end of this month (EEEEEK!!!) and I was finally able to score our FTTF a few weeks ago after being booked since January! The last time we cruised with FTTF we said we would never do it without it again! I, 100% think it's worth it! Enjoy!

  10. We were on the Glory in May... I think it depends on your itinerary as to what parties and what nights. As I recall, on Eastern itinerary, there were 2 late night parties. Not sure if either was cancelled though as we had rain and windy conditions most of the cruise. The sailaway party was held in the Lobby as it was pouring rain when we left Miami!

Hey there! Did you post a review somewhere? I thought I read that you did but I haven't found it yet! Thanks!

  11. You said that you had found some Fun Times for the Eastern Itinerary. Can you tell me where you found them because i'm having a hard time finding some and we are taking a cruise on the Glory for Eastern Itinerary in 3 weeks. My family is really excited about the trip and would love to see them!

Were you ever able to find the Fun Times for Glory's Eastern? It seems like no one has them! :( Now that you are back (hope you had an amazing time!!!!) would you have them to post?!

  12. Hey guys!

We are headed on our 5th cruise at the end of September and we’re super excited because it’s all ports we haven’t been to yet: Amber Cove, Grand Turk, St.Thomas, San Juan!

We went to Cozumel last year and went to Mr. Sanchos and it was our favorite!! Does anyone know if there’s anything comparable at any of our ports?!

  13. I'm so sad to see that no one ever answered your questions! :( We just booked our cabana for October 1st and I'm trying to get as much info as possible before hand! Did you end up booking it?!? And if so, can you tell me a little about it!

    Thank you!! :)

  14. Hello fellow cruisers!

We have about 41 days until we leave on the beautiful Carnival Magic, headed for the Caribbean! I'm so excited and getting totally obsessed! We're going with our very good friends and their kids so there will be 9 of us total in our group! I'm getting ready to start making some fun t-shirts, plan our door decor and maybe even make some other fun stuff if I have time! I thought this would be a great time to have everyone SHARE YOUR shirts, bags, doors or anything else you've made or designed for your cruises! If you made it, lets see it!! Share share share! And I'll be sure and share ours here too as soon as we get them done!
