  1. Hoping no storms interfere with our 9/7 to Bermuda on the Breakaway! I've been to Bermuda once and loved it, my bf has never been and is very excited. I think he'd be heartbroken if we were diverted. Still excited for a cruise, though! Keeping my fingers crossed that no other storms pop up between now and then :)

  2. My bf and I booked an inside cabin for 9/7 on the Breakaway months ago. Noticed price drops and recently switched over to a BX gty for not much more than what we originally paid. I am very anxious for our cabin to be assigned! We figured we'd treat ourselves since my bf has never been in a balcony room. Hopefully it will be a good location.

  3. Personally, I love any excuse to wear a cute dress. I don't go over the top fancy, but I packed a dress for almost every night on our last cruise and I intend to do the same for the one (33 days away!). Like others have said, my boyfriend and I dress up for each other. It's nice and I never felt out of place.

  4. Sailed on the Gem last year and was always intrigued when I saw the tastings listed in the Daily, but my bf and I didn't know what to expect from them or if they would be worth it. We are sailing on the Breakaway in Sept. and from reading this thread, my interest has certainly piqued! Maybe we will try one out this time around :p

  5. It seems to me that this should maybe be common sense, even if it wasn't so ridiculously easy to access on NCL's FAQ. Why would Norwegian even ask for the daily gratuities if they were willing to just pay it off themselves by offering OBC to be used towards grat? (Is this making any sense, or am I just rambling?)

Either way, I love OBC. I would be spending the money on drinks or souvenirs or anything else either way and OBC is fantastic with helping me save on that aspect so I can tip extra for the excellent service!:)

I really hope you change your mind about not wanting to sail with NCL again. From my experience, they have been a fantastic cruise line!

  6. After about our 3rd cruise we stopped going to the chocoholic buffet, but whenever there are new people to cruising I always told them not to miss it, due to the spectacle of it.

It has always saddened and disgusted me how many folks we would see with huge piled up plates (little tiny plates, way overloaded) hauling their chocolate stuff away from the area, only to leave them in other areas of the ship. There was a LOT of waste.

But I am excited about some of the things they mentioned that seem (to me) to be replacing the chocoholic buffet - like the warm chocolate volcano and the chocolate Nutella pot de creme. Yum! Bring 'em on!

I definitely saw a lot of waste. It was our first cruise on NCL and we were in awe of all the chocolate, lol. The warm chocolate volcano sounds amazing, I am definitely looking forward to trying that!!

  7. I sailed on the Gem last September and really enjoyed the Chocoholic buffet. I was disappointed to hear that the Breakaway doesn't do that, as I will be sailing on that ship this coming September. This article makes it seem like they might be doing away with that altogether? Interesting.
