Is it better to bid early when it is 1st offered, or wait a week or so before my cruise to bid?

I have always bid right away and have always been upgraded. There’s a chance to be upgraded earlier depending on your bid.

Hi everyone! Sailing on the 8/19 getaway cruise through casinos at sea. I was comped for an inside cabin and when asked to upgrade outright was given $700 per person as a price to upgrade to balcony. When I got my email to bid, I knew I wanted to bid higher than I normally would have to hope for a balcony. I bid $200 pp and got the email three weeks out that I was upgraded to a spa balcony. I’m thrilled with this, we normally get vibe passes but because of how hot it will be, we would much prefer the spa either way. Super excited!!!
