  1. Hey y'all! I just got back yesterday from our wedding aboard the Carnival Elation out of NOLA! Let me tell you it was AMAZING! We had some HILARIOUS moments and some things didn't go exactly as planned (didn't matter thou). lol We purchased a ton of photos and had an AWESOME honeymoon! More to come tomorrow. I am going to scan the photo book since there are a lot of questions about it and going to tell you about everything!

  2. Hey y'all! Just got back from our wedding! It was AWESOME! A review to come soon. So for the pics we budgeted $750 and ended up spending $2000! We ended up getting the Wedding Photographer Manager because there were so many weddings that day. So our pics came out FABULOUS! I asked him not to make the book but he said he would anyway because he loves to do them. Well when I saw the book it was LOVE at first sight! OMG! It was BEAUTIFUL! Well worth the money. We spent $1400 on the book and because we bought the whole package he ended up knocking around $600 off the package. It would have cost more but he gave us a deal. I will post pics later of the book in my review. But if the quality of the pictures the photographer takes is good it is a very hard thing to pass up.

This is a preview of some of the pictures in the book. He also made the book like a story(not just pictures) like the rings, then the bride, the groom, we met, fell in love, lived happily ever after (kind of thing)...

  3. Is anybody decorating the door saying Honeymooners or Just Married?

I found a cute pic we are going to put on our door along with the day we get married and a blank paper with a pen on a string for other people to write tips on marriage or something. What other ideas do y'all have. I know some people do not like to decorate the doors but others do. Have a good day!:)

  4. Hey y'all! I am having serious anxiety about leaving my child at home while we are on our honeymoon. She is staying in safe hands but I cant help feel out of it because I am not with her. Ok so now I sound crazy. Anybody else feeling anxious about leaving little ones at home? Maybe I am feeling guilty but I dont know why. I think she is guilt tripping me (she is 5) because when we talk about her going to Nanas she says "But im going to miss you!" I know she will have loads of fun but...I dont know. Ok I just needed to get that off my chest.

  5. WOW! You sound like you have your hands FULL! Some people just like all of the attention on themselves instead of what is really at hand. Your daughters wedding will be beautiful! If anybody starts drama just have them escorted off of the ship or tell them to deal with it after they set sail. Im praying for y'all. We are 15 days out and had people saying OK we can make it and i'm like UM no sorry there are deadlines! Best of luck with FFIL!

  6. I'm getting married on April 19th in Port of New Orleans on the Carnival Elation. I got all confirmations about 2 weeks ago and S. Garcia from Carnival said TWE would call in a few weeks. I did rewrite the whole ceremony (maybe that is why they would be calling) ... I am just SO EXCITED!!!! I want it to be here NOW!:)

  7. Hey Y'all! Im 18 days:eek:out! Just wondering I found out main details like room and time when I was 31 days out. Now I am wondering when will The Wedding Experience call? I read it was 2 weeks before and sometimes they won't call until 7 days before. I know I am rushing it I am just SO READY for the day to be here! Well thanks for any answers!

  8. Hello I am getting married on the 19th in April out of Nola. The nonsailing guest will not be allowed to park in the parking building. Right before the ramp to enter is a small parking area the guest will park. The area is SMALL! For that reason I asked guest to arrive between 9:30 to 10. When I went there they had a lady collecting fees for parking there. We told her we were doing a wedding tour and she did not charge us. I told my guest it might cost $16 to park at most but hopefully it wont cost anything. One thing to tell all guest is DO NOT go up the ramp ( like we did) because the have to stop all traffic and get you backed out. It is a real pain. Good luck and congratulations on your wedding.

  9. I called yesterday and she was able to tell me everything. There is someone else with the same first name as me getting married on the same sailing so it has been causing confusion!

YEA! I know you are excited!!!!

  10. I'm so jealous you already found out your rooms! I'm 21 days out and still haven't heard what mine are.

I have been emailing asking when they were going to charge the extra money for the extra people and when she responded she told me to call her. Maybe if you call your coordinator just to see if you can finalize some things (cake, guest, etc) she/he will give you insight. Best of luck! and Can't wait to see your review!

  11. Hey Girls and Guys! I found a place in NOLA well actually Kenner for hair and makeup and they are great! I am sailing out on the Elation in EXACTLY 1 month! The name of the place is Kiss and Makeup Beauty Services. The girls are really talented and they have good prices. I went today for my trial hair and makeup and we got it perfected within the hour.

    This is the website

    http://www.kissandmakeupbeauty.webs.com/

    I paid $100 deposit

$120 for makeup/hair and lashes trial

$150 for bridal hair/makeup and lashes for the day of

    $50 travel fee

The girls did a GREAT job! I will try to attach some pics of todays trail. Sorry it is SO LARGE!

  12. Then I'd budget $200-$300 for photos. I think that's the cost for a package Carnival offers for taking your photos on and off the ship.

I had an envelope with the designated amounts for each port of call. I'm not a big shopper and it pained me to have all of that cash on me; but if I felt I wanted to buy something in port' date=' I had my cc.

I also had a separate envelope with ones for tips on the cruise.[/quote']

Thanks! Ima ask about and see if they have that. Also envelope ideas are genius! I think im going to do that. So I dont overspend

  13. Thank you for all of the replys!!!! This is my second cruise (my first was when I was 18 so I didn't really have a lot of money to handle) and this is my fiances first cruise. I think per all of your comments the best thing to do will be put sign and sail card on credit card. So we don't bring so much cash. I got $50 in ones. I hope that is enough. I also have fives and tens. We are doing the shore excursions in Cozumel and Progresso that is Mayan Ruins and scubba party. We DO NOT drink, I do know fiance LOVES casino.(im a little worried because i heard the casino eats money fast!) We did prepay tips thou! I believe in tipping well too so I am trying to factor that in. Im scared I might go overboard on purchasing photos because we are getting married in port then the trip will be our honeymoon so I want to have memories. We do plan on carrying on bottled water.

THANK YOU EVERYBODY FOR SUCH GREAT ADVICE!

  14. Hey y'all! So we are 31 days out from the wedding! I am super excited! I even got to find out what rooms we will be in today. I am getting married on the Carnival Elation out of New Orleans on April 19,2014. We "requested" to get married in the Cole Porter Lounge and that is the room we got! The reception will be in the Jekyl and Hyde Dance Club because we booked the DJ. So if you do a ship tour and you like a room you can ask for it and you might get it! Now its just a waiting game! We booked the Deluxe Wedding with the 1 1/2 hour reception. Another thing is I wrote the WHOLE ceremony because I did not care for the one provided and they said they would use that! YEA! So I will be counting down now!

  15. Hi everybody! My fiance and I are sailing out of New Orleans next month on April 19th. I was just wondering how much is a good amount of money to bring with yourself for your onboard account. I was thinking about $500 for ports and $500 for the sign and sail card but I'm not sure. I would love to purchase pictures and stuff. Please help! Any advice is awesome! Thanks in advance!
