  1. Hello Carol and everyone else. Sorry it took me a long time to get back on we were just so busy.

Carol, I am so glad you had a great time, and glad you compared it to the cruise. Yes I think a cruise is much better, like you said more places to see.

So baman and RCmommy, here is the email address I have for it.

reservation2MBJ@royaltonresorts.com Rosie(Rosalind) was the one who was emailing me back and fourth. TEL# (876)-632-7401 ext: 7454

I am sending a email to them right now, for I forgot to do before this, I am planning on going there again while on a cruise we are doing at the end of this Jan 2016.

I can not wait to go back.

Like I said if you can not get in to this place the second best is Iberostar Suites, or you can try their next door other resort Iberostar Beach.

    Have a great time.

    Sue

  2. Carol, I am so glad you had a great time there with your family.

I just knew you would, yes, it is different from cruising but in a way a bit more relaxing, just knowing you are steps away from great pools and a ocean and great food.

I am getting older and it is a lot on me to keep getting off the ship to get to these great resorts we go to at every stop, that I think if I could only go to each for a week it would be easier, but hubby says no, have to cruise, but I say okay then we get off at every stop and go to a resort and he lets me do that just to make me happy, lol

I love Sandles In Antigua and St Lucia also. The one in Bahamas was okay but not great like the others.

Now you got me thinking if Royalton, I have to wait until January to go back for the day, but it is worth the wait.

  3. MerriWthr, No Problem, glad you enjoyed them.

I would say as long as you wear a hat and sunglasses and alot of sunscreen you should be fine, if I say hat because if just sunglasses you migh get burnt and get raccon eyes, lol even put on a swim shirt if need be. If you get there early they have huts/umbreallas on the beach to keep out of sun. Just put a chair where ever you want to get out of the sun, but it was to much fun to stay in the pools and drink at the same time and stay cool. I enjoyed sitting in the lobby and playing on my tablet for a while and other areas around the resort to sit and get away from sun. You are going to love it. Wish Joe would let me go back for 1 week but he likes to go to different places that is why he picks cruises.

  4. Carol, Glad you liked the pictures. I think when you get there you can also say you want an up grade and they might have some, they usually don't book them all ahead, they like to upgrade people, good luck.

When we were in the pool we were looking up at the Hotel to see what room we would want, and it was in the taller part of the Hotel to the left looking from ocean, it had a wrap around balcony, one facing pool and one facing ocean, I do not know which room this was but thought it was nice. My husband said that all the other rooms with the really small balconies might not be to bad because it was to hot to sit out on a balcony, people would be in the pool the whole time anyway, which is true.

I like the swim up rooms by the ocean, but the ground floor rooms were blocked by palm trees if you like a view, plus I do not know if I would like little critters crawling in my room if we left the doors open, so a higher floor I would go, lol

I would just live in a lounge chair by the pool day and night, that would make me happy, just to be at Royalton White Sands Resort, I hope to go back again in Jan 2016.

Oh and I am peeling on my shoulders so bad, first time in like 10 years, and I am very tan all year round. So DO NOT FORGET YOUR SUN SCREEN

  5. The Taxi to Royalton from Stew's Transportation Taxi Service was $25 plus a tip each way. (876)-423-4517 - Email: bourstew@hotmail.com

We have also used Pat Bailey once, but we went further last time, and she charged $45 each way plus tip, her and her driver were great also.

Just set a time for them to come back and pick you up and they will be there.

***Okay I finished my Cruise Album (Grandeur Of The Seas) but I do not know how to post the pictures on here, so here is my name so you can go to my face book page and take a look at them, sorry you will have to look through the whole album, but if you want to ship the ship pictures then go down to the bottom and work your way up if you can the 4 ports are last in the album.

My name on FB is Susan Funari - my picture is me a blonde with a very large glass of Champagne in front of me. Then go to albums and find Grandeur, then look to the end you will find all the ports and information. I can not have a link on here, it is against the rules, sorry. If you have a problem with finding me let me know on here or email me, watermanfunari@aol.com

  6. Carol, I am still working on the picture album of my cruise, soon I promise.

If you stay there for a week, others have said to make sure you get or upgrade to the Diamond Club, it gives you extras and a nice private lounge in hotel and private beach area. I always upgrade to this in every hotel I go to, it is well worth it.

I talked with someone who went to check the spa out. It is by the pool and beach area. She said be careful the floors are really slippery they should of used different tiles on floor but it was really nice, she said the prices were not to bad, but I do not know for a fact what they were.

Like I said before, if one day or a couple days you are there, like others had said about the sea weed on beach or cloudy water (which we did not have that day) others staying there said to walk past the fence on the right and walk a bit and snorkel there it was crystal clear and no sea weed.

I would like to here from you when you get back about how the night life is there at the hotel, like shows ect.

Okay back to finshing my pictures to post. I will be back with a Face book page for you all to see.

  7. Glad I could be of some help.

It is an all inclusive, you have to pay the $100 pp I think children were less because they do not drink. Anything you want to drink was there, bar tenders in the swim up bar were funny and also lined up shots to every 1/2 hour, lol we drank mudslides or bailyes or beer. Champagne and mimosa for breakfast we had, soda with my burger, the servers walked around pool to get you drinks if you were not in the pool.

Yes I was docked in Falmouth, it is a very nice new port just to get off and shop in stores get a drink, ice cream, listen to music.

Yes I walked out to the end of the port were all the taxi drivers were and just asked one of the drivers to take us to Royalton, it was a short drive, more time in the in sun for me, lol the Iberostar we did last time was 20 to 30 minutes there and back, got a little tour, but liked how close the Royalton was.

I will try to get my pictures downloaded by Monday so you can see, I took so many it will take forever to do but stay tuned, lol

    Sue

  8. OMG Royalton White Sands Resort was the best. I could not wait to get back to post to you that were wondering.

I was going to change the last minute because of all the people saying it was bad, well I think they said that so it will be kept a secrect.

The beach was a nice size, I hate a beach were I have to walk forever to get to the water, this beach was medium size and no seaweed the day wew were there the water was clear but one man said he if wanted to walk to the right further down the beach it was really clear water for better snorkeling. It did not bother us because we stayed in the pools the whole day, no need for the beach for us that day.

The pool area had 3 pools 1 small with lounge chairs, another for all ages which was a little deeper then the others and the adult pool with swim up bar overlooking the beach. It was wonderful. There was a kids play pool with lots of stuff in it to do and play on, it was great. Tipping bucket, slides ect.

Next to the pool they served hamburgers and hotdogs. On beach they had a barbaque, jerk chichen and steak and if you wish the hottest sauce in the world, lol Or you can go back to the Buffet and eat lunch.

They have a buffet restaurant also which we had breakfast in there when we got there, they serve chapmagne, mimosa's bloodymarys all included. Really good and nice and clean.

We were there on the ship from 7am until 4pm, so we got off the ship and got to the resort around 8:30am, checked in no problems, $100 pp cash. You have to get there early to get a lounge chair next to the adult pool, we found 2 by the steps to get in which made me happy. Other wise you can put chairs in the shade by the other pool. The do have a large hot tub but it was the same temp as pool but with bubbles. It is so hot in Jamaica that you do not want hot water that is for sure.

The taxi was $25 plus a tip there we gave $30 there and $30 back. Great taxi driver, he was there at 2:30 to pick us back up and he had his family with him, 2 children 18 months and a 4 year old and his wife, he did not want to be late to pick us up so he brought them, then he dropped them off before we got back to the port, he had told his son the 4 year old he had to pick us up, when we got in the taxi the son says, hey Dad are these the TOUISTS? lol I started laughing so hard, he was so cute, we keep telling everyone we are the tourists, lol Then he started playing spider up my husbands arm, lol to cute, was a great ride there and back. it was only like a 5 to 10 minute ride if that, really close, more time at the resort.

The grounds at the Royalton White Sands Resort were kept beautiful, the flowers were beautiful, they were out there doing landscaping, working on everything the whole day by hand. Very clean place.

If I figure out how to post pictures on here I will post them, otherwise I will be downloading them and putting them on my face book page in the next week and I can then post my name so you can go over there and look at my pictures.

You will not be sorry you if you go there I am so happy we went, but my husband got so burnt that day, so bring lots of lotion or wear a shirt and hat if you have to. He is Italian and dark to start with and he still got that burnt he is peeling really bad right now, lol So beware.

  9. I am going to just take a taxi from the port. It is expensive no matter what. Not to far away. I paid $45 for 2 people each way to iberostar last time, so I am figuring the same just in case. They told me on the phone to find a taxi there.

I will let you know when I get back.

  10. The thread above this one I stated that I will be back on March 3rd and when I get my pictures uploaded to FB, I will let everyone know how it went. I did call and emailed ahead of time, and will call 1 week before to confirm.

Keep checking in on the other thread in March for my review of the place.

    Sue

  11. I will make sure to take lots of pictures, I always do, Hubby makes fun of me for taking to many.

I will once again email or call the front desk to confirm a couple days before we leave for the cruise, I do not want to go there for nothing and waste my time.

If that did happen I would go back to Iberostar Suites or Beach they are really really a great place to go. about 1/2 to get to. Taxi about $40 there and $40 back that was for 2 of us. I do have picture of Iberostar on Face Book my name is Susan Funari, go to my albums and scroll down to Freedom Cruise 2013 it should be pictures after I post pictures of our cabin. Great place.

I will be back on March 3rd and will let you know then when I get my pictures uploaded to face book and what we thought of the place.

  12. They emailed me back annd said it is all set and I can have a day pass for the date I wanted. They took my info and will have it at the gate and front desk. I also printed out all the emails I got from them to insure they let me in.

  13. This is weird I emailed them annd it took 4 days to get reply but I just did. The day before I received the email I called thhe resort itself.

The email said yes to a day pass $100 pp all inclusive.

The phone call to the front desk said Yes $100 pp but she said she would connect me to the reservation desk for this.

The reservation desk said NO not for a year they have stopped day passes.

So I am about to email them back and see what is true. I had requested a day pass for the end of February 2015.

******Here is a copy of the letter I recieved ******

Hope this helps, looks like a nice and close place to go to if you are docking in Falmouth.

  14. Park Royal is next to the pier also and within walking distance, that is where we went last time we went with that short tiime in port. It has 2 pools with swim up bars all inclusive ( i do not remember the price) bathrooms and a little food place at pool, a little beach you can walk into, not like el cid which has no beach. You are looking at the ships as you are swimming in the pool it was nice and convienient.

Alegro we also went to, 20 minute ride taxi about $25 for two each way.

  15. Location at International Pier. when you walk down the long pier from the ship you will come to buildings, the 1st building on you left, walk around the corner and you will see the pharmacy there. It is the first building before you head out and shop around the other stores.

I have only bought antibiotics there.

  16. Thank You so much everyone for letting me know.

I did have that happen one time with the clock not keeping the right time, I thought I was loosing my mind for a minutes, lol I will look into a wind up clock this time.

I did not even think about the Air Conditioning being turned off.

I am in a Haven Penthouse Suite, just to be sure I will bring an extra card just in case.

Now I read that if I get a soda card for me then I will have to get one for my husband too, he does not drink soda or liquor, he drinks water and he puts in his own flavors that he brings with him. Is this true? He will not let me bring soda or water with me because I have to much luggage as it is, so that is out of the question, lol lol

    Thanks again everyone.

    Sue

  17. Hi, I have a question about the lights in the cabins. I did read all about how you have to put an old card in the slot to keep the lights on and so you can also have your electonics charging.

But I always bring a little alarm clock with me that has to be plugged in, does that mean when I want to go to bed and shut off the lights, I will then not have the alarm clock on?

I would hate to sleep with the lights on the whole cruise.

Also the main light switch, is that for the bathroom too? I always keep the bathroom light on with the door ajar as a night light, and for any night time runs if needed.

I can not get use to all these changes with all the cruise lines on these light issues. I finally get the outlet plugs figured out and now this.

I know, I might just have to bring sleeping masks for us so we can sleep, lol But as long as I am on a cruise things won't matter once on board.

Thanks in advance for your input.

  18. Hi Sammy, I had used this site that you posted "My Cruise Photo" the Image Photo Center link from the RCCL site. I emailed them to purchase a photo of my Grandson that I forgot to purchase on board the last night, and it was a Formal photo that I wanted bad so I could compare to each year he had cruised. It was no problem at all and I received the photo in the mail shortly after I email. I beleive you have to ask soon after your cruise (I think for exp. 6 weeks post cruise, but it could be more then that I forgot, I did it right away) I did this about 2 years ago when we went on the Explorer. This is the info I had to give them to purchase post cruise.

    Name

    Phone number

    Address

    Ship name

    Cabin number

    Sailing date

And a description of what the photo looks like, (mine was of my grandson, and I gave his age 4 years old standing in front of the Titanic stair case with his hand in his pocket -and it was taken at the entrance of the dinning room) and that was all they needed to find it, there was two or three taken, but I told them to pick the best looking picture of him and mail that to me so I did not have to buy all 3 pictures. I was so happy to be able to purchase this post cruise and they were great at handling it all.

Hope this is what you were looking for and that I could help out.

    Thank You,

    Sue

  19. Laura, I was wondering if you could help me. I would like to download the door sign, I do have adobe reader, but it will only let me print it as is, I can not figure out how to download it or add my name. Sometimes when someone Emails it to me, it can then be down loaded. My Email address is Watermanfunari@aol.com Also I wanted to ask you, if it can be changed a bit when I am cruising on Celebrity, like where it say mix and mingle, I would then change to Cruise Connection ect. This is the best sign yet. I would just like to modify it if nessasary. Let me know if this can be done and also Email it to me if it is not to much trouble. Thanks in advance.
