Ship - Independence of the Seas
Deck - 8
Stateroom # - 8307
Stateroom Category – ultra spacious interior cabin - overlooking promenade and above Ben and Jerry's cow.
Starboard or Port Side -starboard side
Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – quiet room, though nothing going on in promenade to make noise.
Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - not connecting
Any specific problems with this cabin? - safe wasn't working properly
Any other comments? - Enjoyed this cabin. Bunks with curtain for the kids, three couches, walk in shower, tub in bathroom, two windows overlooking promenade. You can really see into other cabins, so curtains were closed often.

where do you live? I wish we had them free here in NY
Ohio. Call your local health department too. They would know where you can find them.
ETA: My 7 year old wasn't fully vaccinated for our cruise so we also needed to get him tested but I was concerned with holiday turnaround. Our Minute Clinic (CVS owned) does the exact same RCCL testing - but it's done by a person (which works for the RCCL requirement for unvaccinated children). Results were within an hour. And we selected "for travel" and haven't paid.

Are they rapid tests? if not, what is the turnaround time. We have many locations that do the regular PCR but there's no guarantee you'll get the results in the less than 48 hours needed to cruise
They are the same tests that RCCL sells. 15 minute antigen results via computer.
Someone also asked about time - you can take the test at 12:01am on the day your supposed to test. RCCL just looks at the date.

Duplicate. See below.

My local libraries offer the proctored BinaxNOW tests for free. We go to the drive up window and, depending on which library, we can get two per person or one for each household member.
-
Many of my local libraries offer the proctored tests at no charge. Might be a place to look so you don't have to pay.

Got a letter for our spacious balcony on our Thanksgiving Independence cruise for the grandparents, but not one for the kids in the ultra spacious cabin..

Independence will sub for Liberty until Sept 27th and then change over to replace Explorer sailings afterwards.
I finally found something! I have the Independence in Galveston from 8/15 to 9/19 for Liberty cruises then from 9/27 to 10/20 for Explorer.
ALMOST TO NOVEMBER! (Which is what I'm waiting for...) -
Thanks. We are on the Independence over Thanksgiving out of Port Canaveral and buying airfare Thursday...and Thanksgiving airfare is something I don't want to have to try to change. It won't be cheap.
-
How far out is the Independence scheduled to be in Galveston? I can't find that information for some reason.

We leave 12/6 for our 4 night on the Mariner. I'm hopeful for a discount on either of these two days for the drink package - it's currently at $65pp and we missed the $18pp error...
-
For those that have taken Cortrans from the pier, which time do you suggest? I'm thinking the 9 or 9:45 would be the best option if we aren't in a hurry and have a 1pm flight?

No single thread about muster locations.
Thanks! Its worth a shot. I went in this morning and saw my deck number. So I at least know the deck and I don't think there is a bad balcony on 8. I'm happy!

Is there a thread about Muster Station locations? I just checked in and it states B09 for the Mariner. Curious to know at least the area I’ll be in!
-
I booked in June for a three night on the Mariner in early December 2019. Made final payment yesterday. I have a feeling I’ll be waiting awhile for the XB to come through.
-
I haven't seen them in the cruise planner either and I'm hoping for one of them as well for December. Guess we just wait and check on-board.

Thursday's Fun Times got left on the side table in our cabin... So you have Friday (Nassau) Saturday (Princess Cay) and Sunday (Sea Day). Plus the Behind the Fun Tour, debark info...
Cookie was the CD and he was fabulous. We had a great crowd for the Love and Marriage Show and he helped make the show what it was. The Alchemy Bar was AMAZING. Don't miss the martini fight, or anything from there really - they really know how to do a great drink. We never saw our steward except on day 1...We had anytime dining and Ramia was the only server worth remembering to us.

As soon as I unpack them out of my suitcase, I'll upload ours from 5/2. I think I have them all (and some extra papers too - so it might take a day or two.

NOT a walk in shower. It was a shower with a tub.
