We have used Galveston Limo a couple of times from Hobby and From Bush with no problems. 

The good news is that the airport is very close to the FLL port, maybe 10 minutes once you are off the ship.

Just checked some of these reads for our upcoming 12-day cruise on March 23rd. Found the Carribean Moon on Amazon Kindle for $1 if anyone is interested.

Did they stop in Port Canaveral because of the weather or because there were mechanical issues?

We enjoyed the solarium on RCCL more than on Carnival due the large hot tubs that were actually hot. We also found the decor on RCCL more subdued. We especially liked the promenade.

We thought the entertainment was comparable but we were not on an Oasis-class ship which I would expect to be better than the offerings on Carnival.

We thought the MDR were equivalent on selection and quality. We do however prefer Carnival in terms of the casual food selection (Guy's and Blue Iguana) and the buffet. We were very frustrated at how difficult it was to find seating in the Wind Jammer. This never is a problem on Carnival for us.

We found the lines to be more similar than different. I agree that the difference in passenger behavior has more to do with the timing (spring break, summer) and length of cruise than with the cruise line itself (RCCL/NCL and CCL).

I am very sensitive also and this was my largest complaint about the Dream. The Sports Bar is in the casino and is smoking. Therefore if you wanted to watch anything on ESPN the only place to view it was there. There is a deck outside on this level where you can bypass the casino but at night those doors are often locked - except the one for the smokers to step outside to smoke. They had a "non-smoking" section but that was merely the final 3 or 4 seats at the bar. Many people at the bar were only there to smoke and weren't even watching the games on tv.

Another reason flights get delayed is due to late arrivals the night before. We decided to fly into Orlando the day of our cruise because our flight was the first one scheduled out of Memphis and would get us to Orlando around 9:30-10:00. We received a text message at 5:00am that it was delayed by two hours because the crew got in late and has a mandatory rest time so they could not leave as scheduled. The crew never showed and thankfully Delta scrambled another flight to us. We were 2 out of the last 7 to board the ship. If we had not been on the Carnival shuttle I do not think we would have made it because they did delay departure for us. Never again will we fly in the day of...too stressful!
