  1. You can't go wrong with either one. Passions is very romantic and Barefoot has a more relaxed vibe. I personally prefer Barefoot, but others prefer Passions. Make sure to make reservations. Aruba is full of winter vacationers right now, and everything is packed. I happen to be one of them:cool:

Thank you for that info. Have reservations at both but want to cancel the one since we are 10 days away from being there

  2. Hello all! Back to reality. :(.

Here is what I can share. Staff as wonderful as always. Amazing actually. Food delish. Drinks great as well. No complaints. Lots of updates. None seen in the alcoves are with the exception of new varnish on the wood. Ship was immaculate. No updates in cabins (veranda anyway). Most things were some new carpet, new chairs in sky lounge. New carpet throughout fitness area and oceanview. Other places also. New art as well. Only negative was not much nightlife (miss the quasar lounge). Also noticed the entertainment was not as good as past cruises. Same Elysium show as last February. Embarkation was AMAZING! In terminal and to room (due to dry dock) within 30 minutes!! Had issues with the wi fi also. Pain! Will skip getting it next time around. Any questions let me know. Some I can answer some maybe not. [emoji6] We booked next years Edge cruise for February and it was pricey! New ship, I get it. Taking our adult kiddos.

Thanks for the update. Who is the cruise director ?

  3. We will be staying at this hotel one night pre-cruise. There are 4 of us. (Myself' date=' DH, DS & DIL) Our flight lands at FLL at 10:05am. We are not renting a car. We plan on a cab to the hotel unless some one has a better suggestion.

We would like to just go to the hotel, store our luggage and hang at the pool and bar until room is ready. We would have suits in carry-on. Does the hotel have luggage storage to allow for this? Also we will be needing to purchase our wine. Is any place within easy walking distance or should we take the trolley to Total Wine?

And finally (for now!), dinner. We would be perfectly happy with something from the bar/grill, but is there a better option close by? (again, walking)

    TIA for any help! :D[/quote']

We stayed there last year and will be staying again next month. Very nice and convenient. Good restaurants within walking distance and a CVS drug store as well as regular grocery store. All you would need plus the water taxi stop is right on hotel property and one of the closest hotels to the port. Highly recommend. Nice pool and tiki bar

  4. We are coming down one day early for our late February cruise. We are total beach people, and we know the weather could go either way.

I have Hilton Honors points so we can stay at virtually any FLL Hilton/Hampton/Doubletree property. Any favorites you could recommend?

Would you do beachfront or no? I am not sure our backup plan if the weather isn't sitting-on-the-beach-pretty; but I think we're interested in the water taxi tour of the area? Any other ideas?

    Thanks so much!

We are staying at the Fort Lauderdale Hilton Marina. Did last year too. Great spot to walk to restaurants and the water taxi spot is right on their property plus the port is right there Nice hotel
