Hello all! Back to reality. :(.
Here is what I can share. Staff as wonderful as always. Amazing actually. Food delish. Drinks great as well. No complaints. Lots of updates. None seen in the alcoves are with the exception of new varnish on the wood. Ship was immaculate. No updates in cabins (veranda anyway). Most things were some new carpet, new chairs in sky lounge. New carpet throughout fitness area and oceanview. Other places also. New art as well. Only negative was not much nightlife (miss the quasar lounge). Also noticed the entertainment was not as good as past cruises. Same Elysium show as last February. Embarkation was AMAZING! In terminal and to room (due to dry dock) within 30 minutes!! Had issues with the wi fi also. Pain! Will skip getting it next time around. Any questions let me know. Some I can answer some maybe not. [emoji6] We booked next years Edge cruise for February and it was pricey! New ship, I get it. Taking our adult kiddos.
Thanks for the update. Who is the cruise director ?

He charged you $75 to go from the Hampton Brickell to the port??? You need to report that person to uber. We have surge pricing down here but I have never seen this.
I did report it but got nowhere unfortunately

This past winter we stayed at Hampton Brickell. Uber guy charged us $75! Plus we gave a nice tip. Did not realize until we were onboard. Won't be using Uber again! Concierge guy at Hampton helped us set it up since first time user

Even though I hardly posted, enjoyed the reading and seeing pictures. Not sure what happened to everyone. Life got busy I guess. Anyone hear from Indiana ?

Help please
We have SAS booked but they would take us from the port of Miami to FLL airport then taxi to the hotel on 17th St in FL. Sounds expensive. A better alternative ? Never used Uber How would that work when trying to disembark the ship to get in touch with Uber. Leaving in a week. Help appreciated.

Is Sue Denning the cruise director and not Marten? He was a few weeks ago so maybe he went on hiatus. Never had Sue. Does she keep things entertaining ?

I am second guessing getting off the ship in Ocho Rios. Doesn't sound like one of the more delightful relaxing ports. Definitely don't want to be heckled or see machine guns while on vacation [emoji15]

don't want to interrupt the thread...but we have done Equinox and Solstice and they were fabulous!
We were on the Equinox with you a few years ago. Miss cruising again with you by a week or two

Last year just as we got off our cruise there was a Uber driver here in Michigan who went on a shooting rampage. I know rare but with happening in our home state it's remembered and makes me uncomfortable. Shuttle to airport it is I guess.

Yes I emailed them and they said they do not drop off to the hotel. Why I wondered if anyone had any suggestions We typically stay in FL pre-cruise but this time it's post cruise plus the port in Miami vs FL

Is the only option to get from the port in Miami to a hotel on 17th St in Fort Lauderdale a shuttle service to the airport then a taxi from airport to the hotel ?
Thank you!

Was wondering about this topic as well and if a good idea to be out at dusk with the mosquitos

I meant to also comment that we arrived at 10:30 AM and they stored our luggage. Took our number and called when room available. We took a walk for lunch and room available by 12:30

We will be staying at this hotel one night pre-cruise. There are 4 of us. (Myself' date=' DH, DS & DIL) Our flight lands at FLL at 10:05am. We are not renting a car. We plan on a cab to the hotel unless some one has a better suggestion.
We would like to just go to the hotel, store our luggage and hang at the pool and bar until room is ready. We would have suits in carry-on. Does the hotel have luggage storage to allow for this? Also we will be needing to purchase our wine. Is any place within easy walking distance or should we take the trolley to Total Wine?
And finally (for now!), dinner. We would be perfectly happy with something from the bar/grill, but is there a better option close by? (again, walking)
TIA for any help! :D[/quote']
We stayed there last year and will be staying again next month. Very nice and convenient. Good restaurants within walking distance and a CVS drug store as well as regular grocery store. All you would need plus the water taxi stop is right on hotel property and one of the closest hotels to the port. Highly recommend. Nice pool and tiki bar

We are coming down one day early for our late February cruise. We are total beach people, and we know the weather could go either way.
I have Hilton Honors points so we can stay at virtually any FLL Hilton/Hampton/Doubletree property. Any favorites you could recommend?
Would you do beachfront or no? I am not sure our backup plan if the weather isn't sitting-on-the-beach-pretty; but I think we're interested in the water taxi tour of the area? Any other ideas?
Thanks so much!
We are staying at the Fort Lauderdale Hilton Marina. Did last year too. Great spot to walk to restaurants and the water taxi spot is right on their property plus the port is right there Nice hotel

We have been to St Maartens twice and last time toured with Bernard which was wonderful. This next cruise is an overnight in St Maartens. Any ideas for an evening on St Maarten's?
