  1. I’ve been on the CB often-including 2 weeks in April and 1 in May this year . I was so impressed that I’ve booked her again for 2 weeks in November. I found the food in the MDR very good. I only eat in the buffet on port days if I don’t dine ashore and I found that there’s always something that’s appealing. I wish I could say that I didn’t gain any weight but I’d be lying.🤷🏻

  2. We sailed Caribbean Princess March 18 - April 1. We stored our suitcases under the bed as usual. I did see a post by someone who said that, with the new beds, their big suitcase no longer fit under the bed and they had to put it in the closet but all of our luggage fit just fine.

I had no problem stowing a 30” hard suitcase underneath my bed on the Caribbean Princess last month ???

  3. I'm SERIOUSLY thinking of doing the Pop-up Sel de Mer next month on Eurodam. It really sounds pretty good!

Anyone have any experience on Eurodam lately?

Was on the Eurodam in December and enjoyed a fabulous meal in Sel de Mer pop up at the pinnacle. My only disappointment was that it was only offered once!

  4. Just finished the Panama Canal cruise on the Zuiderdam. I had read the hype and really looked forward to Rudi's SdM. Ambience was nice (though omnipresence of Rudi reliquary was somewhat disconcerting) but food was a definite disappointment. Escargot (in shells) was good but no better than MDR and roasted garlic was mummified. I love a good, fresh salt-baked fish but the branzino was neither - dry, odd taste. We should have known as we kept asking the waiter at the Pinnacle earlier in the week if the fish was truly fresh and got only evasive answers. Desserts: "meh." Pinnacle Grill is a much better value. If I were Rudi, I would not put my name on this dining experience.

It’s interesting how everyones experiences vary. Our party of 4 loved Sel de Mer on the Koningsdam -would have eaten there more often if possible. We were very disappointed with the pinnacle -left a free dinner reservation unused.

  5. I will be bringing 9 shoes on my upcoming cruise for a week away:

3 pairs of high heels (we dress up for dinner)

    2 flat dressy sandals

    1 high heel espadrille

    1 pair of flats

1 running shoes for the gym

    1 pool/beach sandal

Plus the short boots I am wearing from home since I am coming from up North and it is cold.

I always say that I am going to reduce my packing but the one time I tried it I hated not having any choice and having to wear a specific thing each day. So now I pack what I want. [emoji56]

Bravo! Finally someone who packs the way I do! Whether it’s for a week or 30 days, I want to have options. I always dress fashionably, even to go to the grocery store. Why should cruising be any different!?!

  6. Sounds similar to me (maybe a couple more[emoji848]) . My husband couldn't believe it when he was helping to unpack the suitcase......and then came the matching handbags(purses) [emoji4] I tell him to reduce his shoes because they are too heavy! ( more space for mine ha ha).

I have to bring a lot of shoes🤦🏻*♀️because...

    1) the heat on Caribbean cruises make my feet swell

2)all the wine and cocktails make my feet swell

    See a pattern?!?

3)I own them so may as well wear them

Usually I pack 2-3 pairs flat sandals, 2-3 pairs heeled or wedge sandals, sneakers, black flats, fun colored driving mocs, 2-3 pairs pumps...then I’m good. Oh and I also have boots because I live up north and never know what weather I’m coming home to.

I travel with my mom and she too enjoys shoes, so we share a shoe/purse 25”suitcase. No problem [emoji152][emoji148][emoji150][emoji151][emoji162][emoji164]

  8. We just disembarked the Eurodam Sunday and thoroughly enjoyed Sel de Mer ...In fact it was probably the best meal we had in over 45 HAL cruises including chefs table. In fact, we already have 2 reservations at Sel de Mer next month on the Koningsdam . Be sure to order the soufflé for dessert!

  9. Just curious ... where did you hear of this?

I called HAL yesterday because I’m on the b2b for 21 days in January and was looking forward to enjoying dining there again. They told me to check mid-December when the chef has completed the schedule and I’d then be able to make reservations . The customer service agent made my day!

  10. Ok, that makes sense. you are doing the Can/NE out of NY....5 night.

If you go to Princess.com/Regal, you might be able to find the name of the chef. OR you could call Princess to see if they know.

    Yes!

Thanks; I’ll give it a try. We were going to take both cruises but I had already bought tickets for Janet Jackson November 4th.

    Where in East Amherst?

  11. Actually myfuzzy, I meant to type October 21st. My bad.

I’m traveling with my mother and she was curious who the chef would be. I was hoping someone might know.

  12. Any idea what we will encounter September 6-10 traveling to and from Bermuda to nyc? We came prepared with seasick remedies but hopefully will be able to dock the 7th and 8th in St. George's.
