IS your OBC greater than your gratuities?
It is, but we prepaid gratuities prior to the increase.
Thank you CC for alerting me to that. 🙂

We are headed on our honeymoon in June and will have enough OBC from our TA to cover a couple of excursions. My challenge is that I would like to go ahead and book the excursion now, but the OBC is obviously not yet available.
I am wondering if I can book (and pay for) excursions prior to boarding and then cancel once on board and rebook using the OBC?
If it is possible, will RCL refund my card or just put it towards OBC?
I suppose another option is to use charge casino credits to the stateroom and then use the OBC to offset? Is that possible?
TIA

…and what about shows?

We will be embarking in a couple of weeks on the Escape and I was curious if you can book dining reservations via the NCL app once your connected to the ship WiFi?
I’ve read that you should go straight to Teppanyaki to book once on board but was curious if you could do it any other way?
If you can book via the app, curious if anyone has had luck connecting to the ship WiFi while waiting to embark in the Port of Miami.
I wasn’t able to book a couple of restaurants and would like to avoid lines if possible.

I recently booked a cruise for May 28th on the Escape and am trying to plan our dinner reservations, etc. When cruising RCL in the past, it was fairly easy to locate images of their "Cruise Compass" to help guide some of this planning. When searching for the "Daily" I have been less than successful and hopeful that my CC friends might be able to point me in the right direction.
Most importantly I am curious about what day / time various shows occur and also interested if possible in finding out what the various menus are in the main dinning room for each of the nights.
Thanks in advance.

Curious if non "day pass" / guests are able to access Atlantis at this point? It appeared to me that they are requiring you to be registered via the hotel or a day pass to be on property.
Am I mistaken?

I am curious if the cabanas for these two ports are actually sold out for our cruise or just not released for booking yet? We are sailing on the HoS in June and I have been watching them since we booked in October / November. Unfortunately they have been "sold out" that entire time.
Thanks in advance for any experience that you could provide.

Our family (well the kids get annoyed) likes to pre-purchase the onboard photo packages and then use the heck out of the photographers to capture new family portraits, etc.
However, I was curious what the current experience is like given the protocols, etc.
Thanks in advance.

Oops... I tried to find one before I posted.

It looks like the Cruise with Confidence program has been extended through September 2022?
https://www.royalcaribbean.com/cruise-with-confidence
Assuming this is retroactive to those of us that have already booked for this summmer?

I am going to piggyback this topic with a follow-up question that I think I know the answer to...
Let's say the kids (12+) decide they want a quesadilla for a snack, they can just head over to Sabor (assuming they're open) and order one, right? Can they get it "to go"?
And then can they come back later on and order another? Or is it one time per day per restaurant?
...and another question. 🙂
Is there a benefit to the UDP at CocoCay? Does it cover food at Captain Jack's?

If we buy two cabanas but have 14 in our party, can we buy two individual all day passes and they have access to the cabanas?
I can't see why that would be an issue?

We are headed to Perfect Day in June and traveling with grandparents.
Question... Is it possible for the grandparents to access the "Thrill Park" without purchasing tickets if they aren't going to ride the slides? All they would want to do is watch the grandkids.

Thanks... I just updated our reservation and moved around who is in what cabin. Will readjust after we board.

We will be cruising on the HoS in June 2022 with 4 adults and 3 children. We currently have three staterooms booked with two of them connecting.
All is good with that, however one of the adults (step-dad) that is traveling with us does not drink at all and will be staying in the third cabin with my mother who does. Since we have the cabins to do this, I was curious how much of an issue it causes to to book my step-dad in a room with the kids and then "switch" him once on board? It seems like this would allow us to purchase the drink package for only those that will actually use it?
From what I recall, RCCL's policy around the purchasing of the drink package was fairly strict with no exceptions?
Thanks in advance for your thoughts / ideas.

Marketing plot as you call it is just a sales approach so yes, you did fall for it. Now, for an answer to your question and this is just my opinion: others will differ.
- HA! Yep and here I thought I was so good about not getting "emotionally" tied to a sale. Oh well... The good news is no final payment so nothing at risk and I was able to combine this "sale" with my Caesars Total Rewards tier benefit and get what I believe to be a pretty solid deal. ~3,700 for a mini-suite, inclusive of airfare, drinks, 3 specialty dinning and the excursion credits.
Thanks for the other replies as well. As suspected, doesn't sound like there is anything to worry about.

I will be taking my 2nd cruise on an NCL ship, with the first being ~13 years ago on the Pride of America. I have sailed numerous times on RCCL ships and am looking forward to trying something different. I recently booked a "mini suite" on the Breakaway for June 2020 and was able to take advantage of the "Take All" promotion including 3 SPD and the drink package, etc.
After I quickly booked the cruise last night before the sale ended, I started looking into the ship some more including reviews etc. One of the "themes" that I noticed in the more poor reviews was that guests were complaining about NCL "nickle and dimeing" their guests and the need to pay to see certain shows and that the pools are jam packed and if you want to access the "adult pool" you had to pay?
I certainly recognize that when someone takes the opportunity to write a bad review on a product their filter may be skewed, but these points were of interest to me.
So... CC, I am curious what is the actual experience that we can expect on the Breakaway? What would trigger an upcharge onboard?
...and then on a more positive note, what is your favorite thing about the Breakaway and do you have any tips?
Thanks in advance.
edit. I just went to NCL's website and noticed that they "extended" the Free for All promotion. So, I guess I fell for the marketing ploy. 🙂

My wife and I are headed to FLL in a few weeks for the Allure President's cruise. We will be arriving Saturday afternoon around 2:30 and I was curious if board has any suggestions for dinner.
We will be staying at the Hilton Marina hotel. I would love to go somewhere with a cool atmosphere and a nice view. Interesting people watching is also a plus. We will not have a car, but are willing to walk or take Uber.
I'm not as concerned about the price, but also don't need it to be ridiculous either.
Any other "must dos" while we are there Saturday?
Thanks

We are on the Allure of the Seas 9/18 Presidents Cruise. Our flight is scheduled to leave FLL at 10:40. If I recall from past cruises, that shouldn't be an issue but I wanted to get your opinions.
We will be flying SWA and taking either a taxi or Uber to the airport.
Thanks

Royal also has a slightly older, more refined passenger
That guy sails all the time and more or less lives on the flow rider. He was on our cruise a couple of years ago and was a riot. Damn good at the flow rider as well.

Nope... Very quiet, no issues.

Well... I can solve the mystery of cabin 3858. We stayed in this cabin last week along with the connecting 3860 for the kids. This was a great setup and the extra hallway certainly provided more storage for "stuff" and made the cabin feel much larger. I would most certainly book this cabin again given the extra hallway and close proximity to the elevators, dining and gangway.
-
What is the best method? We are flying in this weekend (9/6) and I haven't booked our transfers... oops.
There are 8 of us in the party and we will be staying at the Westin Fort Lauderdale Resort on Saturday.
I have been looking at Vans (~$70), Cabs (~$25 x 2) or ???
Thanks in advance.
RCCL - Chankanaab Day Pass with Lunch and Drinks
in Cozumel
Posted
We will be in port this coming July on the Wonder of the Seas and recently booked this excursion.
I was also contemplating booking a cabana at Cabana Beach. Curious if the bar that is close to Cabana beach is included in the "drink pass" that is provided with RCCL excursion.
Also curious as to any other feedback on Chankanaab or Cabana Beach.
Thanks in advance.
