  1. Ship - Independence

    Deck - 9

    Stateroom # - 9648

    Stateroom Category – JS

Starboard or Port Side - Port

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Very quiet

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - no

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – first cabin on the rear hump, limited view looking forward unobstructed looking aft. Easy for cabin before the hump to look into balcony and vise versa

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - I've never been in a JS on this class before. There was 2 non reclining loungers, 2 chairs and 1 small table. Enough room to have 4 people to enjoy drinks while sitting comfortably.

Was wind a problem? -the divider between the forward cabin rattled with the wind (fixed with a piece of folded paper)

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - NA

Any specific problems with this cabin? - No problems

Any other comments? - there seemed to be a lot of wasted space where the picture window is, two people could fit between the curtain and the window. There was also wasted space between the curtain and sliding door. Great closet and close to the elevators and stairs by the WindJammer. Would book again.

  2. I was on the same cruise and had a similar experience. With hands in the food I only saw adults commit the crime! A man putting his hands in the toppings for the ice cream, a lady picking the perfect piece of toast with her hands while the staff tried to tell her no!

I did see pool attendants swooping up towels on the last day at sea. And smoking on the port side was annoying, but I just walked the other side. More annoying were the smokers out on their balconies.

We had a terrific cruise, even saw pilot whales and dolphins on the last day of the cruise.

  3. We're sailing with you on Saturday! So excited.

The hotel is very close to the port andwalking distance to a Publix and TotalWines if you need anything. There are also many choices for dining around the hotel on Friday night.

The formal nights are Sunday and Thursday.

    Safe flight Friday!

  4. Hello - I'm on Indepence for 8 days starting the 12th:D. I just want to make sure I'm clear on the plan. It looks like the package is good on the ship in addition to the 3 ports we'll be stopping at (St. Martin, St. Kitts and Haiti) and that no international rate plans are needed for Puerto Rico. Do I have it down? I did see on AT&T's site that you can call 1.916.843.4685 at no charge while at sea to add a package. Thanls in advance

  5. I booked and paid my final payment on the same day. A few days later I went into my reservation and changed the bed configuration I also noticed a better cabin location (same category same price)and called into the C&A desk to make the change. The young lady who helped me informed that I had a balance (ok it was not that much at all, but it's the point) due on my final payment. I disagreed as I had a screen shot of my reservation in addition to my email confirmation. I called back in and spoke with the nicest guy who figured out the problem with the resolution team and took me back to $0 balance due.

Remember this additional cost was added after I paid final payment...it was the change made to the reservation that effected the price. If you made your reservation online, pay online etc. and go back into your booking to make any changes make sure you have a record of your original price just in case.

  6. Thank you for all of the information. I'm Diamond on Royal and Sapphire at MLife. Called MLife to link my accounts and was told to wait 24-72 hours to see a change. I hope IOS offers the benefits on my April cruise. The link from MLife to RC indicates that you have to have earned your status at an MGM resort not through a partner program (which seems not to be the case from some of the posts).

  7. Just wondering why you find it " incredibly tacky and lackling in class" to bring a bottle or 2(I'm talking wine) onboard for consumption? I don't take wine when I go out to eat, but I also don't have to buy wine out 7 or more nights a week as when on a cruise. It is just a way for me to save money, if I has limitless funds then well then I suppose I would reconsider.

If you see me on a cruise, and I have a "non-purchased" glass of wine, please don't judge me because of that! :) :) :)
