  1. TV Set info please

We were on the 2016 cruise and the TV sets at that time were unable to be used as a monitor with your computer etc. Nice to be able to see photos taken and played back on decent size screen.

Can someone on the present WC cruise tell me do the existing TV sets have an HDMI input socket or not and can you access the TV menu via the remote to select the option to use computer.

On our cruise we were unable to do that so in the end I obtained a cheap monitor. Prefer to use cabin TV tho thus not having to take monitor with us.

    Any help greatly appreciated.

    Looking forward to June 2018

  5. Have recently returned from celebrity cruise and there was someone using a drone on all arrival/ departures of the ship. Thought it was a great idea, I certainly had no objection and heard no one complaint. Hell these days you have to be careful when you take photos that you don't offend others. Where will our police state nanny state end.

  6. Was on the 2016 world cruise and like you had hoped to be able to hook another hard drive to the TV. Unfortunately you can't, there was a USB port but the remote had been locked so you couldn't access the TV's setting/ menu.. you are stuck with the channels princess have programmed. Being aware of this I had taken a universal remote to help but that didn't work on the TV.

My solution purchased a cheap 32 " TV ($180 ish) and used it as a monitor for my laptop. I then could watch all my stored TV/ Movie files on it.

  7. GOLDEN PRINCESS is a beautiful ship ;

    TIP Stateroom wise :

    GOLDEN PRINCESS :

Hidden away on away on Deck 6 FIESTA are a very limited number of Ocean View Suites with two giant windows each . They are larger than Mini Suites but similar price .

Pax get all the benefits that pax in full suites with Verandahs get .

So if you want a larger Stateroom, and are not fussed about a balcony then these Window Suites are great value .

Category S 7 On Deck 6 Fiesta there are Only 7 of them

    F-301 F-303 F-305 F-307 F-309 F 311 F 315

    Best Staterooms F 305 , 309 & F 311

    ORANGE - Good Choice F – 303

RED - Do NOT book, next to slamming doors F-301 (smaller cabin ) and F 315 (Disabled cabin ) and 307 (Stabilizer noise)

Specialty Restaurants : Both Crown Grill & Sabatinis are excellent.

Crown Grill is steak and sea food, Sabatinis is specialty Italian.

Surcharge pp each but worth every cent .

I recently celebrated a 70th Birthday with 15 others in Crown Grill and the food and service was just superb. Half the party were new to cruising and were just blown away by the whole show.

Hoping on sailing on this ship early in 2018, we are looking at cabins on Bravo deck v carab deck. On line the C deck cabins are listed as 279 sq and the B one as 232. Both have balcony, is it correct that the actual cabin are the same size. As the difference between them is the balcony size of 47sq or is that a coincidence and the C cabins are bigger. Hoping you can help.

  8. The wife and I (kiwis) presently in BA, we have been here two days and a must tour is the water tour out of Tigre. Tigre is a 45 minute train ride from downtown BA. Book with Deltsafari prior to arrival to go on a 5 man Zodiac to the water ways out of Tigre. It as a very small operation, normally 3 boats run by Fernando and two guides who speak very good English. Cost for 5 per boat is 3200 Pesos. Tour lasts four hours. Amazing time, you go where all the larger bus boats don't go, you will see a complete community living on the water ways with all the infrastructure of a normal town but all on water. If need more info email me. Kiwihdrider@ hotmail.com.

You won't regret going on this tour.

  9. Hi all, we are doing world cruise 2016, is the sail time through the Suez Canal arranged so that it's during day time. From the last post worried that it may be hit and miss. It's a big part of what we have always wanted to do, sail both canals, would be terribly disappointed if we miss a day light cruise through the Suez. Any info appreciated.

Regards R, a couple of kiwis.

  10. Many thanks avalon007 for your honest appraisal, like you we feel it will be a step back from cellebrity. The plus was itinerary which ticked many boxes for us.

We agree that meals an issue, Internet not so, will be disappointed if we don't have a nice area to sit by a pool on a sea day. We hope that the present cruise may get the message thru to management both at all maybe not so well.

A major worry is the smell that is continually talked about.

Many thanks again for your post

  11. Having trouble finding much recent info on the Sea Princess. There are many notes about smelly area etc, we are booked on world cruise out of Sydney 2016. Have seen the odd post re refurbishing ship soon.

Any up to date on state of ship etc would be appreciated, as we will be on board for 104 days are a little worried we will be disappointed.

    Have previously cruised with Cellebrity.

Thanks in advance for any responses

  12. Rome airport to Civitavecchia

After arriving at FCO (http://*******.com/FCO-arrive), head for the FCO

Train station (http://*******.com/FCO-trains). You can buy ALL your train tickets at the Trenitalia counter - or use one of the kiosks (http://*******.com/buy-tickets-2011). From there, ride the FM1 to Roma Trastevere - cost currently is €8 per person. Then, ride a Regionale train from Roma Trastevere to Civitavecchia - cost is now €4,10 per person. Total cost to you for three people is €36,30.

The time from FCO airport to Roma Trasteve is about 25 minutes. And the time to Civitavecchia from Trastevere is about 50-65 minutes, depending on which train you get on. The trains at FCO usually come about every 15 minutes (non-weekend and non-holiday). The trains at Trastevere to Civitavecchia are about every 30 minutes. So I would allot 2 hours for the trip time.

This is how we did it and worked well, only problem is you need to look after own bags
