you'll pay an entry fee of $25 that, as I recall, gets you nothing.

$25 gets you nothing???  Do you mean I will pay for every activity?  I knew I would pay additional to swim with dolphins.  Are there other things I will have to pay?

Howdy, from a transplanted Okie! 😎

Chankanaab offers dolphins, a nice beach, small pool and separate snorkel area.

Hey there.  Thanks for your input.  Is the snorkeling any good at Chankanaab?  I’ve always gone scuba diving in Cozumel.  Not quite sure how I will cope without my dives. 🤪

  3. Hi y’all.  We are a party of 3 flying into Houston Hobby on Oct. 19.  We are on Carnival Freedom 🛳 Oct. 20. We are considering taking an Uber to Galveston Island and staying in an Airbnb for the night.  I’ve read several posts about transportation option and hotels.  Haven’t seen much on Airbnb.  Anybody have experiences or recommendations they would like to share? 🤪

  4. I am so excited to be posting here again.  My son is 9 so it has been over 11 years since I have cruised.  While in Cozumel I want to swim with dolphins.  My son wants to play at Paradise Beach.  My mom wants to parasail.  I usually scuba dive but decided to pass since they aren’t certified. 😭 Is there time to do all 3 and maybe sneak in some snorkeling time?  Our ship arrives at 9am and departs at 6pm.  Thanks for your input.

My biggest concern was lack of food on this port day, I recommend you BYO.  I saw people eating dry cereal from boxes they brought from the ship and others had Pringles cans.

Thanks for the tip.  My boy isnt picky but his idea of Mexican is tex-mex that we eat in Oklahoma.  Not sure he would be keen on an authentic tamale and I know my mom wouldnt be.

. A 5.5 hour excursion that says 3 hours will be spent sitting on a bus, 40 min will be spent dragging your tube on a jungle trail, add lunch time to the mix & I'm projecting less than 1 hour of actual tubing & caving.

My Mom and I have cruised to Belize before but weren't able to tube because of flooding rain.  We are headed back in mid Oct 2019.  She will be 65 with 2 replaced knees (3 or 4 years ago).  My not active enough 9 year old will be with us too.  Is the walk really 40 minutes? Is it a hard walk - climbing, awkward surfaces?

  7. I had the time of my life planning Mom's 50th surprise birthday party and gift. I spent months planning and buying all the supplies for a luau (in February).

The decorations - A hammock, a dozen or so plastic pink flamingos and a huge blow up palm tree (think the blow-up Santas that people have in their yards at Christmas time) were in the front yard. The drive way and sidewalk were lined with flaming tiki torches decorated with bright tropical flowers. All the guests were waiting in my driveway when I pulled up with her in the car. I think the "SURPRISE" about made her wet her pants! The garage walls were covered with white sheets that my cousin painted with a beach sunset scene (the beach, water, palm trees, setting sun, watercolor sky, etc.) I put a light directly behind the sun and it actually looked like it was glowing. I had more blow-up palm trees in the garage and totum polls. The limbo stick was fun for the kiddos! The tables were decorated with grass skirts and tropical centerpieces. Brown sugar looks just like sand & the little palm trees and seashells were adorable!!! Little table-top tiki torches lit up the garage and lots of Christmas lights with plastic fish light covers. I also had a beach chair, towel, and umbrella set up for my Mom to sit in while she opened her gifts. The BEST decoration... brought in sand for the garage floor to complete the beach look... Check out Oriental Trading Company if you ever want to have a theme party!

The food - Watermellon "whales" with lots of fruit and pineapple boats, coconut shrimp, and lots of fru-fru drinks. I even bought special flamingo stem glasses. And a Lilo and Stitch cake (I subbed an adult hula dancer that I found in the auto section at WalMart).

The guests - everybody knew it was a luau so Hawaiian shirts, grass skirts, and leis for all. I even bought a hula skirt and lei for Mo (my weenie dog). He was the star of the show. I even had my Aunt (Mom's best friend) fly in from Indiana to surprise her!

The gift - found an adorable beach bag at Target with a beach scene embroidered on it. I put 4 plastic boats (bathtub toys for little ones) inside the bag. Each boat had one of the ports of call written on it. She kinda had a "thanks but what am I going to do with 4 plastic boats???" look on her face. She still didn't have a clue. When I explained what the boats were and gave her the itinerary - she CRIED!!!

The finale - my neighbors LOVE fireworks (even though they are illegal here)... They put on about a 20 minutes display - the icing on the cake!!!

We are now less than 18 weeks away from our birthday cruise. We are soooooooooo excited! I can't tell you how many hours we have spent on this site, and shopping, and talking about ideas.... Woohoo!!! I am ready to go NOW!!! :D
