  1. My wife and I are the same way. We usually book in January when all the kids have gone back to school. I love my kids but they are grown and moved away. My grand kids visit but they go home when they are done with us. So leave the kids home and out of the Pub. Who wants to drink and swear and tell off color jokes with kids around...

lol I'll take the kids rather than the drunk next to me who is swearing and telling dirty jokes. Ewwww.

  2. I agree; it's not a matter of children versus adults, but rather just an instance of the same sort of thing we see all over the ship: Chogging, talking as you walk past stateroom doors after midnight, etc.

It's not the kids. It's the obnoxious drunks and yes people talking loudly in the halls after 10:00 p.m. Chair hogs, idiots wearing revealing bathing wear in the buffet area, people with foul mouths who lack social common sense....line cutters and the list goes on. They have enough adult areas already. If anything Carnival needs to be a little stricter with the obnoxious ones.

  3. I dont see the Pub as an adults only area at all. Drinks are served everywhere, the Pub is no more an adult area than any other restaurant or deck for that matter. If its an adult only area, it will be advertised as such, otherwise its open season for families/kids.

Also, it's listed "fun for all" on the Carnival website. Each ship will spell out which areas are adult or not.

  4. In April Carnival eliminated adult pools on several ships. They are now opened to families. With the casino you have a nice adult area. There are also adult cruises one could look into. Carnival won't bar or change hours on their lounges regarding kids.

Exactly. If one is bothered by kids I would suggest a cruise geared more for adults.

  6. I would also go and enjoy yourself, however I would be minus some friends unless it was a health issue or something valid.

We planned a cruise once with another couple and thought we were great friends. She emailed me telling me her husband was going to ask some of his family to go as well. I politically let her know that this was just a friends cruise and didn't want it to be a family reunion and if he could do it another time. It was unbelievable, no matter how nice or how I phrased it her answer was always that she couldn't control who booked...or who he asked! It ended up being the 4 of us, but I cooled the friendship after that.

  7. Loved this cruise! We did this 2 years ago with our kids, and loved staying on the QM. I would highly recommend saying there, much more to do than your average hotel. We were on deck and started seeing a few people board our ship, so we packed up and headed over there. Boarding was a breeze, and they had welcome aboard champagne, and a great lunch on the Lido.

This was our 3rd cruise out of Long Beach, never had a problem. We had always stayed at the Weston, but will always stay on the QM. The sail and park package made it so much easier.

Glad you posted the Winery tour because we are going again in December with another couple, and are doing that in Ensenada. Can't wait!
