I have returned from three glorious weeks at sea on board the Star Flyer crossing from Malaga to Barbados. If anyone wants lots of details, you can find them here - http://pgalland.blogspot.com

We are doing the crossing from Malaga to Barbados on the Star Flyer in October. Hope your mention that Peter will be back in September will include the crossing. Any idea what other crew members will be on board for the three week trip? This will be our 5th Star Clipper/Flyer trip, and we are so excited to be able to cross the Atlantic on board this beautiful ship. Took years to get our ducks in a row to be able to sail on this one :-)

Thanks so much. Just the kind of weather I was hoping to have!

Let's hope for beautiful weather for both of us again this fall!

Thank you for the response.
Was the air temperature mostly cold like Spain or warm like the Caribbean? Will be celebrating my birthday on our crossing, as well :-)

My husband and I are booked on the Star Flyer from Malaga to Barbados beginning October 15th, 2016. This will be our first Atlantic Crossing so would love to hear from others who have done this previously on the Star Clippers.
Anyone planning to join us?

Thank you for the satellite Internet information. It's pretty sad that I'm stressing about being disconnected from the world seven months out, isn't it? Am sure I'll rediscover the joy of curling up with good books without being interrupted by beeps and dings :)
One more question, what was your weather like? Not sure if we need to prepare for mostly cold weather or mostly warm.

My husband and I will be doing our first crossing in October on the Star Flyer. We've also booked the week prior from Malaga to the Canary Islands to get our "sea legs" working before the 14 day trip. I have a stupid question but just must ask. Is there any Internet access at all during the 14 days at sea? Was not sure how satellite Internet works.
Thank you!

We will be sailing on the Star Clipper in March and would love to hear what shore excursions you especially enjoy. Tip, if there is one you particularly want to do, sign up as soon as they open, after setting sail, to avoid disappointment. Here is the link to the options. Read before you board to have some ideas.
This will be our fourth Star Clipper/Flyer trip and loved all of them - Greece, Spain, Costa Rica
First time Star Flyer - some questions

I am sure you will love the Star Flyer, even if you are not a sailor. Do bring motion sickness remedies, but you will probably find you do not need to use them.
At dinner you will need to avoid shorts. That's about it. Most ladies dress up a little bit for dinner, however. For guys, no shorts and a color shirt will do.
I'll be happy to answer any other questions you might have.
