  1. We booked our next cruise when we were on the Miracle. We did our homework before we got on the ship and went to the desk on the first day. We didn't have to wait at all. We found that after they do their talk about future cruises the lines are very long. We plan to book our next one the same way. This time, we were able to give one of the certificates to my parents to use on their cruise and one to my niece who will be on her honeymoon cruise with us. It makes a wonderful wedding gift.

  2. Has anyone ever been in one of the rooms on the Magic for the completely handicapped? If so, do they have high rise toilets and is the shower large enough to wheel a person in? Are there seats in the shower? My parents want to go with the family on a cruise for my niece's wedding, but my dad is in a wheel chair. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

  3. We just returned from our Alaskan cruise out of Seattle. It was fantastic! We went on May 6. The weather couldn't have been better. Most days we only wore jackets. The only time we needed our winter coats was in Glacier Bay. We could see whales, otters, seals, and eagles right from our balcony. We would definitely do this again.

  4. We take our own snorkels and masks. We have tried to use the ones provided on the tours, but always have a problem with leaks. It is worth it to us to pack our own. We do use their flippers. We used to pack those also, but they just take up so much room. The flippers provided on the tours are adequate for snorkeling.

  5. We were on the Celebration in 2000. My son, Jay, who was 11, was enjoying activities in Camp Carnival and was told that Rowdy Gaines, the winner of 3 gold medals and two world records in swimming at the 1984 Summer Olympic Games, was on board with his family. He volunteered to meet with the children, sign autographs, and show his gold medals. Being a swimmer himself, my son was really excited. Rowdy was wonderful! He signed pictures of himself, posed for pictures with the kids, and even let my son hold his gold medal. He talked to Jay about what events he liked to swim. He also told him not to quit. He said when he was 11, he quit for a while then went back. Jay has stuck with it and this year qualified to go the the state meet as a freshman in high school. Meeting Rowdy was such a wonderful unexpected event! You just never know what may happen on a Carnival cruise.

  6. We are renewing our vows also on a cruise (July 24). I had the same thoughts as you. I went with my mom and sister to shop for a dress. I thought I wanted something in ivory or pastel. However, when I tried on several dresses, they just didn't look right on me. I found a beautiful black and white gown that I really love and think looks good on me. I know what alot of people are thinking--black for a wedding--but it is elegant and makes me feel good. My husband is renting a black tux and our son is renting a white one for the occasion. I think it will be beautiful and to me, that is what counts. I also did not have a wedding gown the first time. We were married on a boat on the Lake of the Ozarks wearing swimsuits and wrap around skirts for the girls and jackets and captains hats for men. It was a wedding to remember, but I always wanted an elegant affair. I think the renewal will be just what I have always wished for.
