  1. I was booked on a. six night cruise leaving Manchester early in the morning on 30th. October. Even though the cruise was at that time still planned I cancelled when the balance was due. I later found out that the flight times had changed on the outward journey by more than eight hours. This meant I had lost most of the first day of my holiday. I contacted the flight department and stated my case. They contacted me two days later and refunded my deposit. I received it within four days.

  2. Last August I took my family on a three generational cruise around the med on Discovery 2. The two girls were aged 10 and 9. The four of them shared a two bedroomed cabin on deck 8. There was lots to do and we didn't use the kids club. We went  out every day except the one sea day which was spent swimming, climbing the wall, eating ice cream and drinking mocktails. The staff are especially kind to children and after 24 hours knew their favourite drinks and food. The girls enjoyed the shows in the evening. I am just so glad that we went last year! I would especially recommend the Discovery ships.

  3. Hi

I live in the UK and have done two Viking  river cruises with my husband when he was alive. Imperial jewels of China and The grand European tour.

I have done several Viking river cruises as a solo traveller.

Lyon and Provence, Tulips and windmills, Passage to Eastern Europe and Portugal's

rivers of gold. I am going on Paris to the Swiss Alps in March.

If you book the standard F category, you pay 50% single supplement.

I've met a lot of fabulous Americans and Canadians who were very kind to me.

  4. I have never been with Fred Olson. I am a solo traveller and am worried about the

dining options.I like to eat first sitting with a variety of interesting people. Would I be seated with the same people every night?

    I'd appreciate any help.

  5. I phoned Marella on 02034512682. A very helpful young lady did her best to move me from an outside cabin on deck 3 to a cabin neat to my family on deck 8. We are all going on Discovery 2 next summer. The system would not let her. I went on Discovery 2 two weeks ago and spoke to the hotel manager and the chief receptionist. I asked if I would be able to negotiate a move whilst on board next summer. They said that I should go directly to the front desk on arrival on the ship. They would then give me a price to move cabin if there was one vacant.

  6. I booked a Douro cruise on a new boat [Helgrim] as a solo traveller last January for March 2019. The price was £2442.

A few days ago my air travel details were released. The price is now £2987. An increase of £545.50.

I was not notified of any price increase. Has this happened to anyone else?
