Last August I took my family on a three generational cruise around the med on Discovery 2. The two girls were aged 10 and 9. The four of them shared a two bedroomed cabin on deck 8. There was lots to do and we didn't use the kids club. We went out every day except the one sea day which was spent swimming, climbing the wall, eating ice cream and drinking mocktails. The staff are especially kind to children and after 24 hours knew their favourite drinks and food. The girls enjoyed the shows in the evening. I am just so glad that we went last year! I would especially recommend the Discovery ships.

Hi
I live in the UK and have done two Viking river cruises with my husband when he was alive. Imperial jewels of China and The grand European tour.
I have done several Viking river cruises as a solo traveller.
Lyon and Provence, Tulips and windmills, Passage to Eastern Europe and Portugal's
rivers of gold. I am going on Paris to the Swiss Alps in March.
If you book the standard F category, you pay 50% single supplement.
I've met a lot of fabulous Americans and Canadians who were very kind to me.

Thank you for your help.

I'd appreciate help with selecting a single cabin with a proper window on Explorer 2 .I've never prebooked a cabin before but I'd like lots of light.

I have never been with Fred Olson. I am a solo traveller and am worried about the
dining options.I like to eat first sitting with a variety of interesting people. Would I be seated with the same people every night?
I'd appreciate any help.

Thank you everyone. After Corfu last year I felt I needed to do more port research!

I am looking at Colourful Coasts and have the choice of two airports from Manchester.
Any advice on the easiest port to use would be appreciated.

Can anyone tell me what adaptors I will need?

I would appreciate any information on what happens when you arrive in your car at Newcastle port.
We have booked parking with Tui.

Do they have blackcurrent squash on this ship. I forgot to check when I was on board last month.
Hopefully someone with children will help.

I phoned Marella on 02034512682. A very helpful young lady did her best to move me from an outside cabin on deck 3 to a cabin neat to my family on deck 8. We are all going on Discovery 2 next summer. The system would not let her. I went on Discovery 2 two weeks ago and spoke to the hotel manager and the chief receptionist. I asked if I would be able to negotiate a move whilst on board next summer. They said that I should go directly to the front desk on arrival on the ship. They would then give me a price to move cabin if there was one vacant.

Thank you.

Do any of the cabins on Discovery 2 have fridges?

I have just phoned Viking and there was a mistake on the invoice. They had not increased the price. Apologies to Viking!

I booked a Douro cruise on a new boat [Helgrim] as a solo traveller last January for March 2019. The price was £2442.
A few days ago my air travel details were released. The price is now £2987. An increase of £545.50.
I was not notified of any price increase. Has this happened to anyone else?

I am a solo traveller from the UK. Only the lowest category cabins have a less than 100% surcharge. I ask the hotel manager if an upgrade is available after the first night. This has always been possible. It is also cheaper!

The orange drink in the buffet on Discovery is not orange juice. It is a high sugar content drink that has been given an incorrect label.
I made a complaint to the officer in charge of catering, after asking to check the carton as they were refilling the machine.

Are there fridges in single cabins?
-
It was the switchboard. They put you through to whichever department you want.

Marella Cancellations - Customer Service up to scratch?

I was booked on a. six night cruise leaving Manchester early in the morning on 30th. October. Even though the cruise was at that time still planned I cancelled when the balance was due. I later found out that the flight times had changed on the outward journey by more than eight hours. This meant I had lost most of the first day of my holiday. I contacted the flight department and stated my case. They contacted me two days later and refunded my deposit. I received it within four days.
