  1. We did the helicopter dog sledding excursion through Carnival in 2014 and it was with TEMSCO. It was fabulous. I had never been in a helicopter before and the flight was perfectly smooth with a great landing. Other than the noise it didn't even feel like you were flying. It was a little strange to take off going backward but I thought it was lots of fun. I love flying so I didn't expect it to bother me at all. I personally would recommend this excursion to anyone considering it. I would do it again in a heartbeat. We will be doing Alaska again June 2017 but will probably do excursions we haven't done before. For our first Alaska cruise I wanted to do all of our excursions through the cruise line since I didn't know what to expect but this time I may look at other options as well.

  2. We went on the heli dog sledding out of Juneau in 2014 and it was amazing.

We do not have kids but I think it's something kids would remember if you did take them. The views were amazing and the dog sledding in the snow was fabulous. It's always been a dream of mine to ride a dog sled and adding a helicopter was something I would definitely do again. Yes, it's expensive but in my opinion it was 100% worth the money.

  3. We went to Alaska this summer on Carnival. Both are in our early 30's and did the helicopter and dog sled excursion. There were three to choose from. I believe it was the 4 hour one that we did. It was absolutely amazing. I wouldn't trade it for the world. Well worth the $550 per person that we paid. My entire life I have wanted to ride a helicopter and a dog sled and I did both in one day. I don't think that the one that we went on would be difficult for your 60 year old bodies. There was a couple on our tour that was probably late 50's and next summer I will probably try to convince my parents to do this same excursion when we go as a family.

  4. We got off the Miracle on July 1st (cruised Tracy Arm on June 26). We began entering the fjord around 10:30 or 11:00 and didn't turn out of it until around 5:00. It's a day trip cruising pretty slow through the narrow passage. The cruise ship didn't get close to the glacier due to sea lions feeding their young but the small boat tour did go to the smaller of the two glaciers in there. It was an absolutely beautiful day and an amazing place to see.

  5. Hmm, I called too and they said they'd resend it but I have still yet to receive it and it's been 8 hours. Do you know by chance what department it was you spoke with??

I don't know what department it was that I spoke with but I pressed the option that says something about already having a cruise booked. Baldo is the name of the person I spoke with if that helps.

  6. I recently was on the miracle may27-June 3rd! We had an awesome time, got the $50 obc but didn't receive the email with details about 25% off a future cruise. Is there still a way to obtain that offer?

I called and asked them to resend the email since I never received it and I had the new email before I got off the phone. They didn't have any problems resenting it.

  7. My very first cruise was on the SS Norway in 1991 when my grandparents took my cousin and myself on a Caribbean cruise. I loved it! I was just a kid then so I didn't know what cruising was all about. I remember watching them skeet shooting off the boat and was amazed. I would love to be able to do that now.

  8. Got a letter today too. Just booked 7 Day to Alaska. Was already planning on taking that cruise but a week later and then this came. Definitely can't pass that one up. I have cruised 3 times on Carnival and never spent a dime in the casino. I was in complete shock when my booking went through. Upgraded to a balcony for $70 per person.

  9. We would get a ride to our airport since it's only about 2 miles from our house. We wouldn't have to pay for parking at all if we flew. And also wouldn't have to drive the 4 hours home. It's starting to look like flying may just be easier than driving.

  10. Will be cruising from Seattle to Alaska in July and I am only a 4 hour drive from Seattle so I wasn't planning on flying. I have read that it is about $150 to park at the Port of Seattle for the week. Does anyone know of hotels close to downtown Seattle that allows you to park there for the week if you stay a night before the cruise? It would cost us only about $100 more to fly than to drive and park at the pier so that might be worth it if we need to. It's an hour nonstop flight home but was hoping to save some money if I could find a hotel that would let us leave the car there.

  11. I've been trying to decide on the Cheers program as well for our 7 day Alaska cruise. My DH only drinks beer and I like some of everything but typically stick to one thing per day. I have learned that I shouldn't mix. But I am not a heavy drinker. My last 3 cruises were charter cruises with my girlfriends and that's almost all we did all day but we won't be doing that on this cruise. Then when I factor in our 3 port days we won't be drinking most of the day. So I'm worried that it won't be worth it. I am the type of person who would drink even if I didn't want to because I've already paid for it. But it would be nice to know what my bill will be for drinks t the end. I am caught in the middle and have no clue what to do. I would be upset if we bought it and didn't at least break even but I would also be upset if we didn't buy it and ended up with a $1000 alcohol bill. Oh the decisions!

  12. I've read that some people have been told there is a 4 bottle limit per cabin and some say they've ordered 6 or more so I'm not sure if there is really a limit or not. I've looked on their website and can't seem to find anything about a limit.
