Just booked the Oct 31st round trip Tahiti cruise. Always wanted to sail in French Polynesia, amazing itinerary with  the overnights in Bora Bora and Mo'orea.  Watched a video showing the refurbished Spirit and it looks absolutely fantastic!  Excited that every cabin was completely redone, wish I could an actual photo of what a balcony cabin looks like now.

Me too! I am going solo on this amazing trip. I have never travelled alone but I am very excited to try something new

  2. We are sailing with teens and we booked two guarantee cabins. We know that there is a risk of the cabins being separated, but I was wondering if there is anything I can do to increase the odds of having cabins close together. Also, I would love to hear your experience with having books 2 or more guarantee cabins. Thanks

  3. I am trying to print my set sale passes, all of the steps are complete and checked-off with a green check-mark, but I am unable to print my documents. Is says:

You're almost finished with the Online Check-in process! At this time, your SetSail Pass is not ready to be printed. Please verify that you have completed the required fields in each section and confirm with your Travel Agent or Certified Vacation Planner that your reservation has been finalized.

Please provide your e-mail address and we will inform you once it is ready. We welcome you to return to the site periodically to check.

I've been waiting for 2 months for them to be ready with no luck. Now, I am sailing next week and I'm getting nervous that I won't be able to print them.

Like I said, everything is filled out and I don't understand why there is an issue. My travel agency is not responding and Royal Caribbean wont answer my question because I did not book through them.

  4. I booked my room at the Comfort Suites to save on Atlantis passes. I called to see if everything was ok with my reservation, and I was told that there is still a fee of 27$ per person to be paid at the hotel! After a little bit of research I found this on the hotel's website:

"For bookings made for travel May 1st 2018 and beyond there will be a mandatory Hotel Surcharge of USD 5.38 per person per night 12 years and older. Must have one adult 21 years or older in each room. Guests 12 years and older are subject to an additional 17.15 USD energy surcharge and a 5.00 USD housekeeping gratuity per person, per night."

It still comes out as cheaper for our group, but I recommend that other's compare to see if the savings on their Atlantis passes are still worth it with the new fees.

  5. We have very limited choices as we are a family of five. Any feedback would be appreciated about the hotel and location. Thank you.

Residence Inn by Marriott Miami Beach South Beach: 250$ per night -Smaller sized suite- (I like the hotel, but I am worried about the location)

Courtyard Miami Beach South Beach: 235$ per night -Smaller sized suite-

Hilton Miami Downtown: 335$ per night -Large suite (2 rooms) with breakfast package

(Would the extra cost be worth it?)

Hampton inn Brickell: 192$ per night -Decent sized suite-

(We have stayed here before and loved it. We would not mind going back if the other choices are not good though)

All the prices include tax. We are looking for a nice and clean hotel with shopping and/or beach within walking distance.

  6. We are a family of five and we will be in port until midnight. We are looking to go to Atlantis by the cheapest way possible. I looked the Comfort Inn and the price is 500$ and that only includes 4 tickets.

    1. Is it possible to pay for a 5th ticket at the Comfort Inn? Is the extra ticket discounted?

    2. Is there a cheaper option to buy tickets which allows people to stay on the Atlantis grounds and but not go on any rides? (2 from our party do not go on rides)

  7. Hi, after 5 Carnival cruises I have decided to try Royal Caribbean again. However, I have a couple of question. (You can answer just 1 or 2 if you don't know all of the answers). Thank you. The ship is the MARINER OF THE SEAS.

    1. I like my cabin cold, is the cabin temperature easily adjustable?

    2. Are there movies out on the deck. What is time are these movies usually played at?

    3. We are in port until midnight, will there still be entertainment on that night?

    4. What food is available at night (after 10pm)?

  8. I'm guessing they use priority so they could track the package, to make sure it was delivered.

True, but I still should not be responsible for a cost that could be totally avoided. Sending a new code by email would have been much easier.

  9. On December 21st, I canceled an excursion which is partially paid for using a Carnival giftcard (22$). I called Carnival several times for a refund, but there was nothing they could do for me. They were clueless and kept on sending back and forth to wrong departments. Finally, I sent a message to Carnival on faceb**k asking for a new giftcard. They sent an email to the gift card department for me. I only received a response on February 4th (1 and a half months later) claiming that they would ship the card (to Canada) and needed my home address. They replied that it would be shipped soon. Fast forward to today, I received the package at the door without sufficient postage on it.The delivery man wanted me to pay 5$ for the package, but I refused because Carnival should have paid the shipping cost (The unnecessarily used Priority Mail when Letter-Mail would have cost less than 2$). I have 15 days to either pay the 5$ or the post office will destroy the package. Now I am faced with a dilemma. I either pay 5$ and my 22$ giftcard turns into a 17$ gift card, or I refuse the package and "attempt" to get a new card which could take another several months (but I could risk losing my money)

  10. The same thing happened to me with an excursion. I cancelled the excursion on December 21st and sent multiple emails throughout January with no response. I finally received a response from the gift card company yesterday (February 4th) asking me to send my address.

  11. Thank you for your review. Now that you’ve done a NYE cruise, do you feel the price was worth it (vs cruising during a less expensive time)? I’m trying to decide whether it would really be worth it to pay the extra for a NYE cruise.

Did you notice the ship being much more crowded during this holiday than other times?

After the NYE countdown on embarkation day, it felt like a normal cruise.Very little was different or special compared to other cruises we have taken. The only differences that I noticed were that there were many kids and teenagers. There was also a special dinner menu for NYE. The ship only felt crowded in the areas mentioned in the review above. I think it was due to the design of the ship rather than the fact that it was a NYE cruise. I would not advise you to book a NYE cruise unless it is the only time you can get off work/school and you are interested in experiencing a countdown at sea.

  12. Just got back from the Carnival Sunshine. Here’s what I thought (BAD and GOOD). Feel free to make comments or ask questions.

    BAD

Wifi: Did not work half of the time, but when it did work, it was horribly slow

Comedy Club: I read many reviews about the unique layout of the club, and I knew what to expect, but the crowds were absolutely ridiculous. 30 minutes before the show even started, there were already crowds of people standing at the back with nowhere to sit. It was crazy and chaotic.

Lounge/Theatre: Also very crowded. Always fills up before the show starts. Many standing at the back or sitting on the stairs

Breakfast Buffet: Same exact items ever single day. No variety.

AirConditioningg: Inconsistent. Freezing in some areas, sweaty and sticky in others

Lido deck chairs: On the first sea day, there were no chairs available to sit at. I walked around the whole ship 3 times and could not even find one availble place to sit.

Water pressure. Horrible water pressure in the newly added staterooms on Deck 5.

    GOOD

Entertainment: Performers were really talented, cruise director was funny and caring.

Options from Lunch: Wok, Guys Burgers and Italian pasta bar were delicious

    Decor: Nice and modern

Service: Staff was almost always friendly. Guest services, Housekeeper, and waiters were all pleasant to deal with (Only one exception where a guest services worker rolled his eyes when I told him that I lost my sail & sign card).

Waterslides and games: Fun, although the paint on the slides is fading and some of the games could be in better conditon.

6pm Dinner: Very fast and efficient service. A large 3-course meal was served every night in about hour. Food in the dining room was always good, with 1 or 2 exeptions.

Casino: Unlike other ships, the casino was not at all smokey.

  13. I currently have FTTF which puts me in priority for dining requests. If I get accepted for the 6pm dining (I am currently on a waitlist for it), and I cancel FTTF after getting my chosen time, will I be put back onto the waiting list?
