cruising cheaply

We are heading to Nassau and are looking at going to Melia, I just called and it's $35/day. Anyone been there recently?

I'm going to check that right now, I love all these suggestions.

I will check valet luggage as we are on 9 day so two suitcases. Thanks for the suggestion.

Ship doesn't have any excursions, says out of Baltimore 98% passengers are local. In FL where I live all the ports offer debarkation excursions.

It's sitting at the airport doing nothing for $37 for a 20 min ride that I don't like. I would be happy to spend $37 or a little more to have something to do. Taxi costs $36 so that's not an option.

I get off cruise ship at 9 am Aug 19 but don't fly out until 4pm. Instead of paying $37 transfer to Royal Caribbean, is there an excursion or something I can do that will pick me up at port, do an activity and drop me off at airport? I would have my luggage.
