1. I can truly say........no one enjoyed Seabourn and the very special days of the little sisters more than Martha. She really missed those days the last few years as her condition worsened. She still gave the occasional message and lived vicariously thru others still enjoying. She is now in heaven with the darling Kitty that she loved and missed so much. RIP Martha..Lola

  2. Agreed!

Funny you should mention an onboard wedding. A friend of mine asked me about that at weekend, if I knew whether SB conducted marriages onboard. I told her I don't know. I've never seen one during our cruises, but that space would be perfect for a small gathering.

We did have a wedding aboard. The couple had prearranged......and all who wanted to attend were invited. The Captain married them.

  3. You warm the cockles of my heart! It gets tiring to hear all of the nit-picking. What is amazing ...the crew and staff are always happier with positive surrounding as well. A win-win for everyone! Enjoy your Holidays.

  4. I agree with Mr. Jaffa to an extent. We always do the crew fund as well........but....there are those who go the extra mile. To me that is what tipping is about.....not a tradition. I have always make an envelope and note out to about 10 crew who have made a difference in my trip....and give it to the Maitre d to distribute. He has always be thrilled with being able to personally give these accolades......and I give the Room Stewardess hers myself......along with an appreciative little gift. Most of us on these trips lead a privileged life.........and these young people work exceedingly hard to make life special for us. I think that making a day special for them and their hard work is worthwhile. We all have or opinions....I had to give mine.....Lola

  5. We have always loved the Hermitage. It has great style and we get the harbor view. Love the breakfasts outside. The location is perfect to walk around and enjoy.....plus easy to get anywhere in the area from there. You can always spend a day in Eze. Our only disappointment in M.C. We loved the restaurant...Le Bec Rouge for years. Then suddenly it was no more. Hope that you had the opportunity to enjoy it during those years.

  6. Actually, getting an on board credit shows that they acknowledge the slight. You must realize........when buying a car, a dress, a suit, an airline ticket.....prices change, and you still pay what you did prior to the change. It hurts a bit. But give them credit for doing something for you. Enjoy your trip and never look back.

  7. Mr. F...........I consider you a clever boor.

The legend has always been a charming lady..........and the pleasures afforded those aboard abundant. It is my guess that your enjoyment of writing surpasses your enjoyment of life. I wish you a Happy 2015.......and hope that you become a bit more humble. If you really look around...people are enjoying themselves. Isn't that what this is all about? I have read all I care to of your humor???????????? Lola

  8. LaPaloma - I agree with everything you've said. My Mom and I have been cruising with Seabourn for the past 10 years and have done a number of 7-day back to back cruises. Each cruise, whether 7 days or 21 or more days is always going to be different. On top of the "Seabourn experience" we have found that getting to know the staff can make your cruise so much more enjoyable. I think some passengers forget just how hard the staff works in order to make our time on Seabourn the wonderful experience that it is.

Hi Jane, and my best to you wonderful Mom. Lola

  9. Well, I hope our 7-day cruise (first leg of a longer cruise) is the good leg! :)

We'll be on honeymoon and this worked perfectly with visits in Europe both before and after. Plus, my fiancée has not cruised previously and we figured no more than 7-days prudent. I'd hate to think that the service would be that variable between legs, though I can understand how service could improve markedly as time passes and the learning of tastes and favorites become apparent.

We have done the back to backs and never found the service or people different because of it. Naturally.....if friendships are made on one leg..and those people leave...that is life isn't it. Don't be concerned......just pack....and enjoy your trip with a positive outlook. I think your outlook can make a difference. As for the service...If you give the wonderful young staff attention and show interest in them....I assure you.....they will remember you.

  10. It was Moet and Chandon Brut Imperial that used to be served. It was a fine champagne. Unfortunately, M & C no longer make it. It is now just Moet and Chandon Imperial......not the same lovely enjoyment. New Mexico makes a very palatable champagne. Gruet Brut......in Tucson it runs around 12 dollars a bottle and certainly fills the bill for an inexpensive taste treat on a daily basis. You can save your fine Champers for special.

  11. The Legend was always the ship of choice for us. I think that you would love it.

It is a crying shame that the small ships will be no more. The only thing that would trouble me on the cruise you have shown is the air booking. Those islands are not always the easiest way to go. Lola

  12. After reading these two pages........I say......hurray for the CHEERLEADERS! Isn't the reason for a cruise to have a good time? If you start out knowing that you will not be pleased.........why bother to write about it. There are so many negatives in our world today. Let's embellish the good things with love. You will always find some irritants so vex you.......but you hold on to the good things. Just a thought... Lola

  13. We also stayed @ the Negresso.........would not do it again.......but...it is a hoot. The décor is outrageous. I do think that walking down the street and taking a peak inside is worth the chuckles. The little café next door is great......have a lunch or dinner there. Any where on that blvd. it is nice to have a window so that you can look down @ the water. The bare top sun bathers is also a hoot.

  14. I can appreciate your affection for your TK. I must say that you should abide by their request. This type of plug in could be a fire hazard.....the bain of he sea faring. When asked not to bring my iron on board.......I hated that but understood and complied. You have to consider that if everyone brought their questionable appliances aboard.....danger would abound. Continue to enjoy your wonderful trip. L. ;)

  15.
Couldn't agree more--who are these SNOBS??? This is my first cruise ever and if I run across the people that have been posting about "unwashed masses" that have gotten a good deal on price as not being worthy to be in the same room with them--it may be a loooooong 7 days.
Surely there are some people that don't think like that on Seabourn--if not my husband and our traveling buddies and myself have made a bad error--but we couldn't figure out any other practical way to go to the Greek Isles other than a cruise.
Come now...do you always judge by what "someone" says. If you will back up on these posts..you will see that this is not the way it is. I have been on Seabourn for about 12 years...trust me..just like in all places, you meet all kinds. We have thoroughly enjoyed the SB guests, staff, and crew. Yes, there will be the occasional "pain"...but that is life. Go and enjoy your cruise and then come back and tell us what a wonderfl experience it was.;)
