  1. Thank you so much for all of the great feedback.

I remember on the roll call for our last RC cruise, watching many people say that they had just scored a better room, or "such and such" just became available and they jumped on it. I guess I wrongly assumed that it was because they had a great TA looking out for them. I wonder if there is anyother way to find out about changing room availability in real time that I am missing?

I'm bummed that recommendations aren't allowed. It seems like you guys really know what you are doing, and some of you have great help to get that done. I hesitate to experiment with a TA because this is a special cruise for us. We are surprising the kids with a New Years cruise to celebrate my son, who is turning 18 on the 30th and getting ready to leave for college. Oh well, rules are rules.

Thank you all for the guidance and Happy Cruising!

  2. Hi! We have cruised three times (Celebrity, RC and Carnival) and have booked directly through the cruiseline each time. As I read on hear, it seems like some of you are getting better deals and room choices using a travel agent. Any recommendations or suggestions where I might look for a really great cruise expert?

  3. Hello, I have heard that there are many places with free wi-fi on St. Thomas. I'll have two tech-starved teens with me on this cruise, so I thought it might be nice to stop in at one of the places and give them a little internet fix before we reboard. I refuse to spend the day searching though, so I'd love to know where to go before I even mention it to them. What are the best places for wi-fi access on St. Thomas and how far are they from the ship and/or beach?

  4. This will be our first time on a Royal Caribbean cruise, so I'm wondering if someone can answer two quick questions about the spa....

    1. Is it like on a Carnival cruise where the spa treatments get discounted during the cruise, or do these sell out on RCI. Trying to decide whether to pre-book.

    2. I've read that certain parts of the spa (i.e showers) are open to non spa guests. What exactly is available for everyone and what extra goodies are available only to those getting a spa treatment?

    thank you so much.

  5. Hello,

We have picked My Time Dining for our upcoming cruise on the Explorer of the Seas. I'm noticing that the pre-cruise choices include reservations for daily seating. I thought by choosing My Time instead of main or early seating, we could be more spontaneous. Do we actually NEED a reservation each night, or is this just an optional thing?

Thank you so much for any insight.....
