We did Rudy's tour last week and it was outstanding. We have done many tours, some with the ship but mostly private, and Rudy's was one of the very best. Rudy was our guide to the market, and it was very interesting-not something you get on a standard tour. After the market we had two other guides take over and both were outstanding. As far as safety, we never felt in danger.
I highly recommend Rudy's tour. It was a fabulous experience.

We had Karim as our guide in November. He is outstanding and made our visit wonderful.

I appreciate reading everyone's experiences with Ramses and have reserved a tour for November.
Can I have some information on what people have tipped. Normally tipping is a percentage of the tour price, but in this case there are the costs of the hotel, meals and admissions in the price of the tour.
So, what have those who did the overnight tour tip the guide and the driver?
Thanks
Dennis

You are welcome.
NOTE TO ALL: My name is really 'Darry D', like Willie Jo and Rhonda May - and the 'D' stands for Darlin'. While I've been called a lot worse than Darryl, I want to point out my real name before someone else begins to believe I have changed it. I am not offended, Dennis, but I do want to correct you now rather than create a relationship where I'm using some name I have not earned.
I'm sorry DarryD :o On another thread I am on there is a Darryl and I got confused.

Thanks in advance for your reports. They could not come at a better time since we just booked this cruise a couple of days ago. Will be sailing in February. It will be our first Freedom class ship; we usually do Radiance class ships. Really looking forward to your posts and pictures. Thanks.

We want to take bus 76 from Firhamnan to the Vasa Museum. Is there an ATM at the pier to get local currency and a ticket machine to buy bus tickets?
Thanks in advance

Just how "hilly" is Tallinn old town?
I will be travelling with my 76yr old mum who whilst she is very active and is great on level ground, she would struggle with any big uphill walks so I am contemplating taking the ships panoramic town which then ends with a "small" walking tour of the top of town.
The plan is then that we both explore the rest of the old town working our way "down hill" en-route back to the ship.
Having not been to Tallinn, have I made the right decision to do the panoramic tour as a means of avoiding some of the uphill walking, or is Tallinn more "level ground" than I think it is?
Many thanks Linda
Several years ago we went on the bus tour, and in my opinion the bus part was a total waste of time. The Song Festival Ground is nothing more than a big amphitheater. The Olympic Yachting Complex is a marina.
However, the Old Town is fascinating. I suggest you take a taxi to Toompea Hill/Palace Square and proceed on your walk from there. Once you see the upper Old Town, you can go down hill and visit the lower Old Town. It is all down hill. Then it is a short walk or taxi ride back to the ship.

Thanks Patti,
I figured you would know the answer.
Were you the Patti quoted in the new C and A magazine?

Can I use OBC to pay for a next cruise booking? In other words, can I put it on my seapass card instead of my cc on file? I may have excess OBC that I want to use.
Thanks.

Thanks for your replies. We are on the Voyager. I just want to run into town to buy a tee shirt and pins from the Hard Rock Cafe, a traditional thing I do in every country I visit.
I hope our excursion is not as unorganized as yours was Linda. Sounds like you had a lot of wasted time which will drive me nuts. I still think it will be fun and we are looking forward to it.
-
Linda,
We are booked for this excursion next month. You said you had only 1/2 hour to enjoy the beach. Was there a set time you had to return to the ship? What time did the excursion begin? Most important-did you have time to shop in town before or after the excursion? Thanks.

Thanks TEXASMUNK, but I was referring to the driving directions coming from I-45. How do I drive to the terminal, drop off, then go to the parking lot. Thanks.

Never been to Galveston. If I were to drop off DW and luggage, what route would I take to the terminal upon reaching Galveston Island?
