  1. We were in grand turke a few weeks ago. We loved it! Started out relaxing in front of margaritaville and ordering drinks. Yes it's expensive but I found the margaritas very strong plus they gave an extra shot of tequila with each one. We took a walk to the jacks checking all the venders along the way. I'm shocked to hear the comments about how far it is because we didn't think it was far at all. We walked back to our chairs and hung out there fir a while before heading back to jacks for lunch. Food was good but I thought the prices were similar to that of margaritaville. Bar and tables were both crowded and we stood around waiting for someone to leave. Staff was basically non existent as we went up to bar and ordered and than gave our ticket to the cook. Bar tender was busy so I understand why there was no conversation.

I wasn't overly impressed with jacks. I would try the bar that was in between jacks and margaritaville next time.

On a side note we went out on the banana boats and the giant tube ride. Both were incredible fun and the guys running it were very nice!

  2. My husband and boys did this while I spent the day at Coki. I booked thru carnival due to the taxi fare not being included in the rate posted from tree limin directly. I think I was told I had to book from cruise if on a cruise. I'm sure u could get around that policy but due to cost didn't seem worth it.

We booked once on ship and most time slots were full which surprised me so u should also book soon.

They enjoyed it but said it was too many people in their group and spent most of the time waiting for the rest if the group to go. I'm not sure if this could have been avoided if booking alone but by how my husband described it I kinda think so.

It cost around 350 for 3 people and by their description it wasn't worth the cost.

My son was really looking forward to zip lining so he would have been very disappointed if they didn't do it but in the end I think he was disappointed and we spent 350. Lesson learned for next time.

Not trying to talk u out of it, just telling their experience.

  3. I walked off the ship thru the port and there were tons of open air taxis lined up to take you to whichever beach u wanted, Coki included. 10 per person each way. Each taxi held around 20 people.

We didn't even have to think about where to find a taxi, they were directly in front of us. No walking, waiting or danger.

We were docked at crown bay.

  4. I'm not sure what hotel we were near as we just asked to be taken to isla verde beach. We got dropped off at a u shaped taxi stop. Seemed to be midway of the strip. The hotel right near us had really nice blue cushioned loungers all set up and a good sized right off the sand.

There was a guy renting lounge chairs for $4 all day till 5 but not the standard beach chair. Loungers were a bit worn but still fine.

Water was rough cuz it was windy which made for an exciting Time jet skiing. But being from the jersey shore we enjoy the waves.

Beach was not crowded at all.

Hope these details help. Please let me know if I missed anything that might help.

One last thing, after reading some posts on here I was concerned that it was really far and I misunderstood the taxi fare schedule( thought is was 22 per person) so I was unsure if we should go. I'm sooo glad we did!

  5. We went to isla verde last week and had a great day. Plenty of food, drinks and activities. Taxi was around 22 for up to 5 people and around 15-20 mins each way. We got to the beach early (around 8) and left around 1. We still had plenty of time to do some shopping in osj and be back on board by 3.

  6. I was there last week. First I went on a running tour with someone I found in the Internet. After showering and changing my husband and sons rented scooters and they dropped me off( alone) at cabbage beach for a few hours before coming back for me. I felt safe at all times and found the locals to be very nice. I had a much better day than expected based off what I was reading in these boards.

  7. We went to Coki last week. I agree easy to get cab, food, drink and loungers. Saw lots of people snorkeling but I just enjoyed the sun. It was very crowded so if you don't like crowds not sure this is a good place. I think it was less crowded further away from Coral world but don't know what amenities are offered.

I would defiantly warn about the traffic returning to the ship. It took us about a half hour to get to Coki but over an hour to return. Plan ahead and don't cut it too close.

    Enjoy your day

  8. We went to isla verde last week and had a great day. Beach chair rentals for $4. We rented jet skis and went on banana boat ride. Lots of local venders and bigger restaurants to choose from.

Taxi was 22 for up to 5 people. No waiting to get taxi either way. Ride was around 15-20 mins.

I would defiantly go back again!
