No.  FTTF lets you check in and pick your arrival time 2 days before people without priority.  Officially, Diamond/Platinum/Suites/FTTF who show up earlier than their scheduled arrival time will have to wait until that time.  It varies from port to port, ship to ship, and sometimes even sailing to sailing whether this is actually enforced, but you if you show up early you're taking a chance on not being allowed to check in until your assigned time.

Thanks for this - it seems like it's all changed in the past ten years. When's the official check in time for normal guests? The cruise planner says we can check in two weeks prior to the cruise date - is this taking into account the two days earlier with FTTF or no?

  2. Bumping this...

We're cruising out of Baltimore in three weeks. Haven't cruise with Carnival in 10 years. We have FTTF.

I'm not sure what our arrival slot will be (check in is not until next week), but let's say we don't get the earliest slot, can we still arrive at the earliest time since we have FTTF?

  3. Hi Y'all,

So it's been about 8 years since we cruised Carnival and the whole idea of an 'arrival time' is new to us. I assume that everyone selects an arrival time at check-in, right? Is it the earlier you do online check-in, the higher chance of an earlier arrival time selection?

Now, if we throw FTTF into the mix, does that change anything? Do you still get an express line at embarkation?

It may also be worth mentioning we're sailing out of Baltimore, and yes, I know, it'll be later than usual.

    Thanks!

  4. This will be out first time sailing Carnival in 10 years, so things have changed since we last used FTTF. Can someone explain how the check-in times work in relation to FTTF? Worth noting that we'll be going out of Baltimore.

Do you pick your check-in window during online check in or is it assigned? This will be the cruise that turns us gold, so we're not high up on the loyalty scale. Essentially, how would we get the earliest boring time possible and does FTTF make a difference?

  5. Given the times, now seems like a good time to ask if everyone thinks this benefit will be renewed in the future? Right now, the shareholder benefit is valid until July 2021, with bookings made prior to February 2021. Given the company's financial standing, who thinks they'll continue to extend this benefit for years to come?

I'm 24 y/o and considering investing for the first time. My MBA education tells me to buy low, sell high, but I'm so afraid CCL Corp will claim chapter 11 bankruptcy. However, once cruising starts up again (at some point it will), it could be quite the investment, especially since I love to cruise lol.

  6. My friends and I, four total, are planning a college reunion cruise this June on Indy from Fort Lauderdale. I've been on several cruises, so I generally know how they work, but I did have a question about onboard accounts. We plan to book connecting rooms, two to each room, so when we go to set up onboard accounts, can we all assign our own credit cards to our respective SeaPass card? Again, this would be four separate credit cards. Similar situation when booking, can we split the deposit four ways or no?

TIA! Any additional advice when cruise with friends, the logistics and all, is much appreciated.

  7. Was really looking forward to doing this on our May 23rd sailing aboard Anthem of the Seas. Unfortunately, the coaster was out of service and it was cloudy spitting rain. Nonetheless, we tried to make the best of it by sitting in our loungers drinking labadoozies.

You can give them the exact fare when boarding.

You have to have exact fare (and from what I understood when I was there a couple of weeks ago, it has to be in change, not bills).  You can buy tokens in the kiosk where the ferry comes into the Dockyard.  You can also buy 15 tickets (which is good for bus and ferries and works out to a little cheaper per trip) or 1,2,3 day unlimited passes (again good for ferries and the bus system).

    Thank you both.

Logged in to print a copy of my cruise calendar and noticed that RCCL has already rebooked my ifly and northstar times (yes I know North Star is broken but they did re-book me!) They also rebooked my shore excursion for me for the day we will be in Bermuda.  I was worried about the ifly and getting a reservation so happy that they took care of this 🙂

Hi, Jenn! Will you please report back if the Northstar is working on your sailing? We're on the 5/23 voyage after you!

Above all, have a great time 🙂 I feel for you all, but I know you'll have a great time.

You can have rough seas on the way to Bermuda, even without that forecast.  We had rough seas last month, and they had the doggie bags strapped to the rails on the stairwells at each deck.  Maybe 50% onboard were sea sick.

The captain did try to get around the storm, but seas were still rough.  Just come prepared, and if you need meds, start taking a day before you board.

Thanks for your insight. We can handle rough seas, I guess we're more concerned with having sun and not clouds, wind, and rain. I know, I'm fighting a battle I have no control over.

  11. I'm no weather guru and was wondering everyone's opinion on this; what does the below information mean for those sailing on the 5/23 voyage of Anthem of the Seas to Bermuda and the Caribbean? Could we encounter rough seas on our way from Cape Liberty to Bermuda? Will the Captain sail around? The forecast for all islands (Bermuda, St. Maarten, San Juan, and Labadee) are calling for cloudy and rain! It's been a while since I've researched the forecasts for the Caribbean, but I'm hoping this is just typical?

My husband and I were there at the end of February and it was still $25 for 2 chairs, umbrella, 4 beers, wi-fi (had to be closer to the hotel to use) and restrooms. Not sure where the 3rd person would sit since the chairs and umbrellas are tightly lined near water.

Is there someone on the beach to set this up? Or, do you have to go in the hotel?

There were 3 of us so it cost $37.50 with 6 drinks, we got 2 rum punches for 4 drinks and 2 sodas. Nice clean toilets, easy access wi-fi and a shower to use.

So, I assume this included three loungers? Someone mentioned they had everything set up in sets of two.

  14. We've officially decided to go to Holland House during our May trip (first time to St. Maarten). I wanted to check in to see if anyone's been there recently (within past 2 months) to make sure nothing has changed.

What would be the price for three people? I'm assuming they still offer chairs, umbrellas, wi-fi, and restrooms?
