We've literally just got of Rhapsody and my girls loved their barbie experience! It was $300ish each aud. They got blanket and pillow case, a barbie, barbie bag, pack of barbie clothes, barbie activity book, a magnet sign on cabin with "special barbie guest", barbie door hanger and a barbie lanyard for sea pass. They got 6 barbie activities ( barbie wii session, barbie storytime, barbie fashion workshop (where they made3 barbie outfits), barbie tea party, barbie dance class and it all end on thr last sea day with a barbie fashion parade. There were only 5 girls including mine doing it so it was very exclusive and the adventure ocean staff called them all barbie girls throughout cruise. Definatley worth the money!

Hi there
Im trying to pack for cruise this weekend and need help
1. Can you take pool towels off the ships at ports?
2. How much is pool towel hire? Is it per towel?
3. Do balcony cabins come with shampoo/conditioner dispensers in bathroom? Or do we need to bring our own shampoo/conditioner/soap?
Thanks for any assistance
Cheers and merry christmas!

I'm on a nye cruise with my kids (5 &7) and I've bought them both really nice party dresses for the three formal nights. The dresses are only from target but both girls were super excited to buy them :) I'm looking forward to getting a nice photo for the night too :) to each his own or whatever that saying is :)

Thanks mrwalker! Does anyone know about noumea and vanuatu? Are we better off bringing their currency with us or can u get it changed onboard?

Wow thanks for all the responses! Its so great to get all this first hand knowledge! I booked this cruise through a travel agent and they were useless! I definatley want to book direct next time but i like the idea of these "open bookings"! Thanks everyone
-
Thanks for the responses!
If you make an open booking, can u then contact rci direct and use that open booking to book cruise or do you have to go through travel agent?

Im cruising for the first time on Rhapsody in December 2013 (so not a Crown & Anchor member yet but will be when i board). I already know that I will be booking on another cruise in 2014 (I know which cruise, date and cabin types we want).
What sort of discounts do you get for booking on board?
Is it worth it if you know the above details to book on board?
Do you only need the deposit if booking onboard?
Am i better off just booking online when I get back?
How long does it take to get (Crown&Anchor) membership number?

That's great .... Thanks for response!

Its become a gorgeous afternoon in sydney so yayyyy for sail party!

Every time you order a drink, a 15% gratuity is added on your seapass bill along with the charge for the drink. It is not included in your "prepaid gratuities", but is added per drink.
How does that work with prepaid alcohol plans? I wont get charged per drink so there wont be a 15% charge per drink?

Great to hear others have same concerns :) particularly when part of me thinks im just worrying about nothing lol im glad we have the extra cabin... I think if it were the four of us in 1 cabin for two weeks, id go crazy lol

I'm going to be following this thread with great interest as my husband and I are taking this cruise in March of next year!! And a question for all you lovely Australians: what kind of weather could I expect to encounter around the end of March, beginning of April in your wonderful country!!
It will be autumn and can be windy so id bring a jacket...a light weather all purpose jacket not a big heavy parka. Its always hard to say as the weather is just "screwy" in the past 2 weeks its been boiling hot and bushfires around, then we had a full week of rains and roaring winds with minor flooding

Thanks everyone for the responses esp the photos. I cant see either of my kids getting it open!
That door alarm looks good for peace of mind though!
Tc.... The reason we got 2 connecting balcony cabins instead of inside cabins is that we are going to be spending a lot of time there while the kids sleep and i thought inside cabins would be too claustrophobic lol

Hi MissCruising - if you can it would be great to get a photo of the Balcony door on the Rhapsody. Im cruising on it with Hubbie and 2 kids (5 and 7) and we have 2 interconnecting cabins with balconys and I am stressing a little. I thought Id just be able to get the balcony key locked in the kids cabin.
