Fake news! I also applied for my benefit yesterday for a cruise on the Bliss in January and received notification today that my application has been approved. My booking includes another $100 OBC from NCL and two “free at sea” perks. There must be some other reason for the OP being hassled over the benefit.
fake news from their website really ..look it up yourself, maybe they aren't following there own new rules

and when they are the leader people love to gripe as well.
OP< I would love to know if you have tried to use your benefits and if so, when? I think what is being said is a bit confusing. When does this policy go into effect? OK, now I have read the changes and still think it is very unclean. I will submit our request in the next few days and see what happens?
BTW, for those who say you can only request 14 days prior to sailing we have, often requested our $100 OBC as soon as we make final payment and never been told we have to wait.
I am reading the policy change to say, you can not get the benefit if you are on a special discount like a TA rate, not if you have a package with some perks.
This week and told this is the last time because I booked a sailaway and the change that the Benifit is not combinable with this offer and the policy was just changed in the last week

No. No. No.. This is a new policy change.
Here is last year policy:
Here is the new policy.
Note the BOLD parts!.
Old policy says it is combinability with other promotional offers
New policy says it NOT combinable with any offers. It is very vague, but i think any offers could be the promotional offers like the free at sea, wave sales, promotional onboard credit, etc, etc
Thank you for making my point clearer
-
The policy has been changed and instead of specific offer exceptions that was listed in the old terms it now only says any offers are excluded, I got this today because I received obc but was told it just changed and I got it because they are making a exception to the new policy and refered

You're thinking like a customer.
If you own stock in NCL, that doesn't give you an incentive to go on a cruise. The $100 OBC is barely an incentive either. No one thinks... "I spent $10k on this stock and I need to spend $2-3k (cruise, air, hotel, etc) for me and the wifey so I can go on a cruise to get my $100 bonus." Well, I hope no one thinks that way. You never know.
Furthermore, my understanding is that cruise lines make very little on the cruise fare. They make their nut on extras that you buy while on the ship (e.g., excursions, massages, photos, art, etc). Giving you OBC to buy those extras bites into their margin. And then earning suffer. If you truly own stock in the company, would you rather them give all the stock owners $100 or beat earnings next quarter? Personally, I'd opt for the latter.
I also would assume the loyalty/rewards (Latitude) program creates repeat business on its own without the promise of $100 from the stock program. And, if you're a member of Latitudes and own stock, you're probably not cruising with another cruise line. Hence, no need to give you additional OBC.
But, pure speculation on my part.
Not true, i own NCL stock and cruise Carnival and perfer them but NCL is less expensive right now. BTW i am in Latitude ans well as carnivals program.
back to carnival for me after this current cruise im booked on

looks like Norwegian is following the footsteps of Royal Caribbean that has similar restrictions.
that doesn't make it right, and i guess NCL wants to be a follower then a leader since they have to do what RC does

IF i request the shareholder onboard credit, that means i will give up my free at sea perk?
according to whats in that ncl document yes, its really clear offer or shareholder benefit, but thats i read it and was explained on the phone
carnival has zero rules like this, you own shares no matter what you book and pay you get the OBC

1.Singles paying without single supplement only get half now
2. Can not combine offers (special pricing or perks) with the shareholder OBC
So now unless you pay full fare you cannot claim benefitWas told by the resolution desk and refereed to the below document
Read restrictions

If one purchases FTTF, is there priority tendering to the Home Port Advisory?
yes but they will charge you a extra penny and a 15% tip for the tender driver
-
Ah, for a penny, give it a shot!:)
hehe I did a few months ago just for the fun of it,, LOL then a month later they canceled it and gave me my penny back... boy did I give it a bad review and carnival posted that on the :)

Small businesses employ more people than any other entity and those of us that own one are not willing to risk a decision, miss a chance to help a customer or answer a question based on experience. Sometimes the decisions I can make in a split-second will pay for the cruise.
Please. Being accessible 24 hours a day (as long as the technology is there) is a requirement in many careers. We know that when we "sign on" with the company. Again, it's a small price to pay for being able to take family on vacation.
.
i agree with being someone that needs to be in touch also,
I have verizon and in last month it was 2.99 a min using verizon wireless and as long as you have international dialing turned on it will work, VM is hit and miss on the cell phone
Skype and any other VOIP doesnt work (i tried vonage voip) and not enough bandwidth really slow internet on the ship
FYI i also missed some incoming calls (didnt ring all the time)
BTW and my company pays for the calls

I always ordered 2 lobsters on Princess and Carnival.
Wimp, I order at least 4 :) and when I am with my son, forget about it, empty lobster shells all over the table

There were several newlywed couples on Splendor on 9/1 and one did participate. I've seen the show on different cruises and it can be very funny.
If you are sensitive in any way to "jokes", skip it. If not, it's fun!
I've seen mild to X-rated so be prepared!!
I feel off my chair laughing at the old couple (what thye did or didnt on there honeymoon) and the 10yr aniversey couple.

LOL forgot the cruise info

Same here. I'm sorry for your loss. I was 39 when it happened, how about you?
I've been on my own for almost 19 years now so I'm not going solo as a break from others. Went through the adjustment from other-focused pursuits to me-focused ones a long time ago. However, for safety reasons I have traveled with others--until now. I'm booked on my first solo cruise two weeks from now, on the NCL Dawn to Canada & New England. Yay me! :)
My main concern with traveling solo is that I might not be as motivated to go sightseeing as I am when traveling with my daughter. When she and I travel, it doesn't matter if I'm tired or have to get up early--I will still take advantage of opportunities to sightsee and we will pack in a full day. Traveling solo, I'm afraid I might waste opportunity. (I know myself well and know how unmotivated I can be sometimes. Seem the older I get, the less energy I have!)
Anyone here ever been unable to get yourself going when traveling solo?
I have traveled around the world Solo for many years, and if your not able to get yourself going thats Ok becasue traveling solo just means you can do what YOU want when YOU want and just ENJOY the moment even if you want to sleep until 12 in the cabin
-
I have travelled solo and with friends. Both were wonderful and each had drawbacks.
I have had wonderful ship staff of each solo trip, who kept an eye on me, groom time to get to know me and if I didn't want to be alone, I could As,ways find an activity to do.
I am about to hop on the crown princess in a few days for another solo run. I am looking forward to eating when I want...seeing what I want....,sleeping when I want. I have done a good deal of solo travels in the last 2 years . I learned very quickly, smile and be kind to everyone, they will be to you too. You are only as solo as you allow yourself to be. Sometimes you have to do something daring alone to find yourself again.
Very well said.....Been Single for many years and enjoyed most of it

How did you enjoy the Splendor? I was on it in June, solo, had a nice time. My next one is on Constellation in November, never been on that ship before, looking forward to it.
this was my first Solo cruise and booked last min, was hesitant about going solo, but had a blast and met some really nice people and never felt alone, I enjoyed it so much I just booked the Glory Dec 13th out of Miami

How do you feel sitting on your own at a table for two? If you feel more comfortable in a small table on your own, you can always request it. But if you prefer a big table then of course there is a possibility that people may not show up, that is if you are in assigned seating and time(meaning you always sit at the same table). Another thing that you can do is ask for anytime dinning and then when you go eat, you just ask to sit at a large table, that way you will always have people at your table(guaranteed).
I just came back from the Splendor to Canada, first cruise by my self, did 6PM MDR and was given a large table, people changed for the first few nights but it all worked out, especially when its up to you on how much or little you want to talk and to whom

Looking forward to my second cruise single,

if you read what i wrote, it has nothing to do with free at sea perks, it has to do with which rate is used IE sailaway, casino ect
and if you read the form T&C you would also know
sheez, and BTW some have not gotten the full OBC or any at all because of it
buy again everyone is a expert without reading anything directly from NCL
