  1. Thanks for all the input. I plan on using him/her with the exception of unpacking our bags. We have the unlimited drink package as well and I believe a few bottles coming to the room so he/she will be replenishing our mixer stock often and we are both coffee drinkers so they will need to replenish that too. Also planning on spending some serious time in the room as our lives are so busy with work/kids and we are finally getting a week with just the two of us to party, enjoy, & be pampered for 7 nights. I think I'll stick to my original plan, unless, of course, the svc is terrible (which I doubt). Thanks again!!!

  2. If you use him twice for room service, maybe 10 dollars? Unless you have him running all over the ship, why would you tip him anything more than the regular room service?

From what I'm told he also brings stuff to the room daily, part of the perks I guess. I meant over all for the trip. How much is the "standard"

  3. Hello! Taking our first cruise in 28 days!!!! We have a suite with a butler and yes I intend on using our butler for room service on a few occasions. Just unsure of how much to tip him. Every thing I have read is U tip depending on how much you use him but I don't want to under tip nor over tip. Any suggestions or guidelines??? Thanks!

  4. Not looking for a debate for against the new policy. I just want to know where the smoking areas are on the Dawn once the new smoking policy takes effect.

I believe just the casino and the cigar bar as well as the pool area. Im a smoker and booked my cruise back in January with an AFT Penthouse Suite, balcony.....When I heard this took effect on Nov 1 I was bummed because I love my morning coffee/cigarette, before I start getting showered/ready as I will probably be a tad tired/hungover lol.....I called NCL and because our ship departs on Oct 31st, we are the last cruise on the Dawn to fall under the old policy, soooo lucky for me, I can smoke on my balcony, YAY! lol

    :)

  5. we will be on the Dawn arriving on Nov 2 - - Don't close Bermuda until after our cruise at least, I am really looking forward to early November in Bermuda. Hope to snag a Fruit-Rum Cake for Thanksgiving Dessert at the Rum Cake Factory....and hoping also for temperate weather - -

I will be on this cruise too! Soooo looking forward to it!

  9. Lol. I've been hijacked!!!! Haha. Awweeee well I think the responses I have received from you all have been so helpful!!! I cannot wait to get on this cruise. Unfortunately I have to book after the holidays, well because it's the holidays lol and I just can't swing it all until my bonus beginning of January!! Hopefully my penthouse AFT won't be sold out because I really don't want to spend the extra money, but if I have to, I have to!!

  10. If it is just the two of you I don't think you need a family suite

    I prefer aft to midship

I also prefer forward to aft since I sailed in a PH suite in both

That being said, you can go wrong no matter which you choose

    Enjoy!!

What makes you like forward compared to AFT??? I would think u feel the movement more in fwd but I've never cruised so I don't know lol

  11. I'm liking the responses here!!! Thank you!!! I guess an AFT Penthouse is the way to go!!! The perks sound wonderful as well.

Definitely THINKJNG of using the $300 on board credit toward the unlimited booze package. I mean we aren't alcoholics or anything but yeah we like to party n have a good time!!! Lol.

Now, I hope this isn't offensive, definitely not trying to be but a lot of people have told me that I will find the crowds to be "older" people cruising versus people our age (even tho I consider myself "older"-early 40's lol). Not that it matters as I will be with my love enjoying each other but curious I guess.

  12. Thank you so much for the information....

I dont really think I would know what to do with a butler, I know it did say they unpack your luggage but I dont think Id like that. haha

Im looking forward to planning this cruise for us, he has been on a few cruises in the past and loved them and has been trying to entice me on going but I keep saying NO WAY lol Hes really going to be surprised.

    Thanks again

  13. Hello! I have never been on a cruise. Im planning on a Bermuda cruise From Boston for our birthday (yes we have the same bday, but hes older lol) on the Dawn, Oct 31-Nov 7 as a surprise and I have NO clue as to what I am doing.

I did look and I think I want to do a penthouse suite AFT. But I am also considering a family suite with balcony......

Questions are....is AFT better than mid ship??

Is it worth the extra $$ for the suites with the suite perks, although im not even sure what the suite perks are....I just like perks lol

any information you can give me would be greatly appreciated. I have no clue what a cruise is like and I just want this to be a very special trip for the both of us.

    Thanks!:)
