Thanks for taking the time to post to a LiveFrom thread! I was watching your video and was a little set back with the “tinted window” on your balcony. Does this mean you can’t look out in either direction? If that’s the case, I’m not impressed.

You can look out but is tinted blue...just not clear glass.

  2. You do not need to take your life jacket to muster.

I am a picky eater but I thought the pizza was good....I saw nothing wrong with it.

I do think they did they Pop Choir.

Nothing really special in MDR for Christmas...they had turkey, ham and some other things.

Ports were Puerto Vallarta,, Mazatlan, and Cabo San Lucas.

I forgot to mention that they forgot my coffee order twice at the International Cafe and they overcooked my Medallions of Beef entree, but I did not send it back.

On embarkation day they had a local LA quartet dressed in clothes circa Oliver Twist time that sang holiday songs....they were fantastic. They also had a display with a lot of gingerbread houses....that was very nice.

  3. Hi,

I was on the Ruby Princess Christmas cruise and thought I would do a small review. Overall the cruise was just ok. Service was just fair all over the ship, food was average in taste and choice, entertainment was fairly good (singer Paul Baker was fabulous and comedian Jammin' Jay Lamont was very good), the ship is a beautiful ship and is in good condition. It was really nice to be on the ship at Christmas time with a lot of holiday events and singing. I had an issue with the Maiter'D (I think I spelled that wrong...LOL) being rude and not listening to the issue. The staff member that worked in the Photography department and did two photography seminars was not very friendly and a bit standoffish but the staff member that did the Go Pro seminars was good. This cruise was not up to my previous experiences with Princess, especially when it came to service. Re: my cabin....I had an inside so I knew it would be small but the bathroom was really small and the shower was just wayyy too small but the cabin did have a lot of storage for being small.

Feel free to ask questions and I will answer if I can.

  4. Hi,

I will be leaving on a cruise out of the San Pedro port and my flight gets in on the day of the cruise at 6:55AM. Any thoughts on what to do before getting to the cruise port? I do like to get on the ship as early as possible so I know that won't really be a lot of time to do anything. The biggest issue will be having our luggage and carry on with us.

    Thank you

  5. Hi......I have a few questions

    1. Can I get a large drink with one punch or is it two punches?

    2. Can I get iced Coffee?

    3. Are the coffee fusion and Barista Specialty mixes blended ice drinks (i.e. frapps)?

    Thank you:):)

  6. Thanks everyone. I have been to the Mexican Riviera a few times but not since a few years ago when there seemed to be a lot of trouble and the cruise lines stopped going for a bit. I know about being safe, etc. and am like that where I live. I may actually only get off the ship in Cabo because I don't feel like there is much to do that I haven't done at the other stops. Thanks again.

  7. May you never need a scooter or a walker or have impaired mobility. But if you do I hope you find fellow travelers more empathetic than you seem to be.

    Very sad post

It did not sound like a sad or rude post to me. The OP was just stating the truth and did not say it in a condescending or non-empathetic way. I totally agree with the post and I have travelled with a friend that uses a scooter.

  8. I saw the pictures on here on the reviews.

Thank you to everyone that answered saying the ship is fine; I will leave it at that and look forward to my Cuba cruise.

  9. Hi,

I am booked on the Sirena in October 2018 to go to Cuba. This will be my first time on Oceania and I have been reading reviews about cruises on the Sirena and also saw some pictures from cruise critic members. I am a little worried about sailing on this ship as some of the reviews regarding the ship itself (not the ports) aren't so positive and some of the pictures showed some dirty cabins, dirty drapes, etc. Can anyone ease my mind about the ship? I know it was refurbished but I believe the pictures and reviews were after the it being redone.

    Thank you

  10. Hmmm, just got back from cruise on Riviera this past Sunday - awesome ship - however, for whatever reason the majority of people kisson our itinerary (Sacred Sanctuaries) were really not dressed too well at all. Not sure the reason why - frankly - they looked like they had used stuff from walmart - i was quite shocked. I brought quite a few nice clothes for evening that were dressy casual - i found i did not pack enough items for during the day and for the tours - most people just had on like old jeans or khakis and shabby looking t shirts with a few exceptions.

Ugh.....hope it is not a trend.
